Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

After seeing Valencia in this form today I cant see us buying this kid, sadly:(

One of the few reasons why we may end up see us signing Sanchez is if we're planning to sell Berba. The Chilean is younger then Berbs. He may not be as technically gifted as the Bulgarian is but he's got pace AND he is more versatile.

If this was the case, I'd be absolutely delighted. I think Sanchez would be much more suited to our setup and style of play than Berbatov is. Sanchez is a fantastic player.

But that would mean we need to get another striker in as well. Not gonna happen.

Why? Rooney----Speedy Gonzalez----Sanchez-----Welbeck----Macheda are good enough. I doubt that we will sign him though.

Sanchez will get us plenty of goals then playing upfront? Welbeck is good enough as 4th choice. But we still need Berba, or someone as good as him in the squad until Welbeck proves to be one.

He is not really a goalscorer but he can play in the hole allowing Rooney and Chica to score the goals. He's also very versatile. He can play on the right flank, on the left flank and upfront.

Not his best game but he was returnign from injury.

It's probably no secret that I rate Sanchez very highly and would love to see him play for us, unfortunately I just don't see it happening at all, and like most of you have said, I reckon he's going to end up at City which will result in them having a very impressive attack.

Aye I also think that he will be off to City. I might have to change my Muppet list.

Only to find out later that United can't match City's bid and he has to join City with his tail between his legs.

I don't think any player can be forced to move somewhere they don't want to anymore, especially marquee players. If he goes to City it's because he wants to go there.

Nonsense.

Udinese identities urge Sanchez to choose Man Utd | Premiership News | tribalfootball.com

Udinese identities are urging Alexis Sanchez to make the move to Manchester United.

The Chilean dazzler is in talks with United, Manchester City and Barcelona about a summer move away from Udinese.

Former Udinese coach Adriano Fedele has advised Sanchez to head to Old Trafford.

"If I were him, I would go to Manchester United," said Fedele. "(Sir Alex) Ferguson is the right coach for him and, more than the others, would be able to enhance his quality."

Trophies + sun + beach + less taxes = barca

Taxes won't matter with the city deal, they're taken into account. I'm sure the United player have ways of Tax avoidance as well. If you earn as much as footballer a beach is never far away. Our good old British seas cold and powerful currents will be more similar to his native Chile as well. Playing second fiddle and being a bench warmer would also go against his move. I reckon he's on his way to Manchester, unfortuanetly due to our tradition I'm beginning to expect he'll be joining a massive club.

I'd avoid Barca if I were him... I'd still think they'd favor Pedro. I'm not sure if Pep is the one who wants him anyway !

I hope not! But can anyone realistically see us signing this guy? I personally think he would be great for us, but i just can't see us spending a significant amount this summer on such a player, when it is so widely speculated that our priorities are a CM, a GK, or both.

I'm not sure they actually want Sanchez, but if they were to sign him I think he'd keep Pedro out. He's miles better in general play and the truth is that despite scoring a lot of goals, Barcelona's front 3 hasnt been perfect. On some levels it hasnt worked brilliantly. Villa is still settling but Pedro hasnt progressed from last year. He's still just a pretty good player, but with plenty of goals in him. And ideally Messi and Villa will get you all the goals you really need while the 3rd member of the front 3 would be a player who is going to set them up. Sanchez fits this role a lot better.

I somehow doubt we bought Bebe to sell. We paid 7.5m, we'll never get more than that for him. And if he ends up being worth more than that we won't sell him.

Yeah but since our little burst of interest a couple of weeks ago it's been all City as regards to Sanchez.

He's been linked with us for years. Years ago he said that United is the only club he wants to come to. If people close to him are saying 'choose united' it MIGHT be that we are in for him!

Or perhaps wishful thinking on my part.

He's a quality player, truly talented on the ball.

But which of our front four will suffer for him?

Hernandez is excellent, Rooney is one of the finest footballers on the planet, Nani is world class and Valencia defies logic after his comeback this season and subsequent superb form.

We have Giggs and Park constantly knocking on the doors to play in creative roles in midfield. Also, with Park and Valencia on in Europe we become an extremely tight and creative unit.

I want Sanchez, but only if we can play 12 players next year.

For what it's worth I'd love to see this guy at Old Trafford next season.

We've been admiring him for some time. Apparently he's been admiring us for some time too - 4 years?

He'd really bring a wow-factor back to our attack. I hope we'd be much better than we were with Ronaldo.

The problem with both van Nistlerooy and Ronaldo is that they were such amazing talents that everything tended to go through them which made us one-dimensional as a team.

Without them everyone has had to step up to be successful. I think we're a much better unit as a result. It would be fantastic to bring another mercurial talent into a set up that already works. The risk is that the unit starts relying on that wow-factor again. But then again SAF should have it all worked out!

2007/08 season...one dimensional?

Evra today said that the whole team in that season were built around Ronaldo, where as we are not built around one single player this year.

it's a myth that we were one dimensional with him, purely because of the 09 CL final where we made ourselves our dimensional for him.
