Barcelona are locked in talks with Udinese star Alexis Sanchez.

Gazzetta dello Sport says Barcelona directors met with agent Fernando Felicevic on Tuesday before the Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid.

They are ready to offer the €30m asking price for the young Chilean, who has scored 12 goals this season.

Manchester United and Manchester City have also held meetings with Sanchez's representatives in the past week.

So if this is true? then the decision will all be Sanchez's as all 3 clubs can easily afford to pay between the €30-35 mil bracket. All clubs i reckon would also offer similar pay packets.

He dicks on Pedro imho, having Messi and Sanchez in a forward line up will simply be one of the most skillful forward lines in the world.

Except Citeh, who could and probably would offer a huge amount more in both fee and wages if they felt it was an advantage to them

Exactly, they could play Villa through the middle and have two of the most skillful players in the world flanking him/supplying him - finishing often themselves.

Scary

They could offer a ridiculous amount but it will come down to who he wants to play for. The decsion is his. Surely the likes of ourselves and Barcelona are far more attractive a proposition then city. The main thing seems to be that reps of all clubs have met (if that is true), this means thatall 3 clubs will have met Udinese's valuation if it is all above board. So it just comes down to who Sanchez wants to play for.

if this happens then we will have to settle for Young....

I was stunned to see such beauty.......are you trying to seduce me?

thats a damn good start!

Nope but Sanchez has ben seducing me with his passing to Isla and Di Natale this afternoon. What ball for the goal. I knew out of everyone on the caf you'd appreciate it.

After seeing Valencia in this form today I cant see us buying this kid, sadly:(

After watching him in his withdrawn striker/offensive midfielder role through the middle again today. I can. Was still a bit out of sorts and came off on the 69th minute, but still sprung the Lazio offside trap twice.

I'd kill to have him, Valencia and Nani in the same team tbh. Behind Roo and chicha:drool:

For ages I just thought he was another pacy winger that we didn't need as I've always believed Valencia is incredible, but his passing range since Jan' has been incredible. Watching him release Isla on the right wing, he would compliment Valencia beautifully. At the start of the season I wasn't interested, now I'm very interested indeed. As I said, if the rumours are true and we along with Barca and City have been allowed to talk to his reps this week, then that means we've met the asking price and now it's all in his hands.

I like:D

The main thing I'd worry about is whether Nani would be alright with playing (slightly) more of a squad role, or a sightly less influential role in our attacking play.

Well if the last few games are anything to go by, he may have to get used to it regardless of any possible future signings.

I think they will play more games together next season. There's just too much pressure for margin of error now.

Nani is good enough to own our left flank for years. He doesn't now because Park has to support our center midfield in big games. But who's to say he can't learn to defend as well as a Valencia? I've always got the impression from Nani that he rather likes helping out defensively but is naive at it.

I don't disagree with any of that but the fact remains that if we have Sanchez/Valencia/Park/Rooney/Chicharito/Berbatov/Nani three are going to miss out, the four most liable being Berbatov/Nani/Valencia/Park - Berbatov and Valencia seem to understand and accept squad rotation, we know Park does, I'm not sure about Nani.

I think that over the course of the season Nani's ahead of Valencia in the pecking order but Valencia's still going to start plenty of games and thus Nani's going to miss out on a few, you'd think.

I think the likely scenario with wings is that in normal games, Nani and Valencia will both play left and right, in bigger games, Park will play, and whoever is in better form between them 2 will as well. Right now it's Valencia.

Which leaves Rooney, Hernandez, Berbatov and Sanchez in the center, and then Sanchez could play wings too...

Erm...

Basically, he's not what we in essence need, and that's the problem, but he's so damn good that I want him anyway.

That's all true. I think he's tracked back a lot this season but he's just not as adept at defending as Valencia is. I don't think he work ethic can be questioned though.

It's the price of playing on the wing for United. You share games. I'm convinced he knows this and I'll be surprised if he minds.

5 Attackers and 1 center mid? We will get pelted.

Why, we play with 5 attackers a lot of the time anyway, we just have it instilled in them to get back when needs be. Giggs, Valencia, Nani, Rooney and Hernandez doesn't sound to unusual.

Latest rumour is that Gary Cook was at the Udinese game with a couple of other city bods.

Giggs is well adapted to play the CM role, where as Sanchez (from what i have seen from him) isn't even close - we would be doing a spurs and with even less cover in the middle of the park.

The way we rotate the squad every game I'm sure we would be able to accomodate him. Somes games we go all out attack, others we go defensive.

It was interesting watching him today, playing in a deepish role pinging passes around and being instrumental in both Udinese's goals. He didn't really use his pace or run with the ball, perhaps due to a mixture of just coming back from injury and the heat. He also took a couple of hits and didn't act like a fanny.

Interesting that you feel Sanchez would be ahead of 4 of our current 6 forwards, I'm not completely sure where we'd use him but I think he's a very talented and versatile player, and Fergie will be 3 moves ahead of us already in how he'd keep the 7 of them happy, if we are indeed as in for Sanchez as the reports claim.

Football transfer rumours: Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City.

Although the presence of Manchester City chief executive Garry Cook and assorted other Manchester City big cheeses at Udinese's Stadio Friuli yesterday afternoon has served only to fuel speculation that the Easlands outfit are on the verge of making an offer for highly coveted 22-year-old frontman Alexis Sanchez, speculation abounds that the Chilean superstar would prefer to sign for Manchester United, the club he supported as a boy, in the very unlikely event that they can match or top their city rivals' offer.

According to Goal.com , an unnamed Udinese source, possibly wearing a beige raincoat and smoking cigarettes while standing in the shadows of a multi-storey car-park, has said that Udinese won't sell Sanchez for a cent less than €30 million (£26.35m) and will refuse to let him leave at all if, as seems likely, they secure the fourth Champions League qualifying spot in Serie A.

However, another Rumour Mill deep throat reports that the Bianconeri are prepared to let their star player leave for considerably less and would consider offers in the region of £18m. Quite why Manchester United are so interested in signing a winger when they have such sprightly young tyros as Antonio Valencia, Nani, Ryan Giggs and ... er, Bebe on their books remains a bit of a mystery, but Sanchez has been linked with moves to both Manchester clubs for months, as well as Barcelona, Juventus and Chelsea, and his Mr 15% is believed to have begun talks with Manchester City last Friday.

I would love it if Sanchez publicly turns down shitty and makes it clear he would only join United...

Udinese might make Champions League as they are currently 4th in the league so he might stay for another season, though they are a selling club and he is currently at the top of his value so they might be willing to cash in. I cannot see him coming here unfortunately, as much as I would like to. He would cost a lot with several teams queueing up with their bids and wouldn't even be a guaranteed starter. I just hope Barcelona don't turn him into a whinging cnut.
