Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

Much like David Silva and Yaya Toure had no intention of playing for City.

Toure always wanted to play for City after he left Barca because of his brother. Silva, he was willing to play for us but we never really put in a solid offer for him. We were linked with him.

A post earlier in this thread, that had the source. Although for some reason Liverpool fans think he's a Liverpool fan.

Unless it came from his own mouth I wouldn't read too much into it. Even if it did come from his own mouth, I still wouldn't read too much into it.

It was during 2008 i think the original statement came from. It has been repeated by various papers for years. Who a player dreams of playing for and who they eventually do play for is not connected. If Solskjaer had his childhood dream he'd have been at Anfield.

"I'd like to play in English football, especially for Manchester United. I like their fast game and the pride the fans show in their team. I'd take a move to England before Spain."
This was done years ago though,2008 probably after being asked 'would you like to move to England and play for Manchester United' by the reporter. The rumour is we tried to sign him then but Udinese told us to do one. His agent has confirmed that we've been monitoring him closely for years. There definetly is some legs in this one.

Interesting. It is more the "he has no interest in playing for Shitty" part that I was getting at. If they make the CL, with the players they have, and the money they pay, it would take a very strong person to turn them down.

I think it all depends if we bid as well, which would you prefer to go to. Your gonna earn a fortune regardless. There's some rumours that he may also be targetted by Barca although I see even less of a place for him there than I do Madrid.

What is his gambitron rank compared to the usual suspects.

Ooh. You've given me a weekend project that will help me avoid doing real work. A great player who could do a job for the team. I wouldn't be overly dissapointed if we didn't sign him as I don't think were that desperate for a player. Yet I also don't want any other team to have him. He has a Gambitron rank of 2 Hamsiks. 1 Hamsik being the top ranking, 10 Hamsiks being Taibi.

If you stumble upon strong-AI I want to be listed as as a contributor so it knows whose family to spare after getting fed up with human violence and taking over the planet.

Theres a spanish paper saying today he's pretty much Barcelonas player.

I hope not. The last thing the rest of football needs is to have Sanchez paired with Messi (two of the best footballers with the ball at their feet, imo).

Do you think they would really pay another 20 million for a player to drop Pedro or Villa to the bench? Especially after signing G. Rossi.

I doubt any of it is true. The favourites to get him in my eyes are Inter Milan.

No chance. They have too many offensive forwards.. Messi, Pedro, Affalley, Villa. Like someone said aswell Rossi seems to be their prime target.

The paper said that Rossi isn't their prime target but Sanchez is and the he'll be the first signing.

I doubt Barca or Real will get Sanchez, and I think he fancies a move out of Italy from every story I have read. I think it will be us or City.

Rossi fits what they require more. He can compete with Villa and Messi as the rotating striker I don't think Sanchez has that capability.

He is better than Rossi. Afellay might leave Barca this summer because he is fed up with the life on the subs bench. So they won't worry about leaving him on the bench. If they get Sanchez there will not be a chance for any team to beat them. Just think about Messi and Sanchez down the wings with Villa up top.

Yeah but he is more versatile though. He can play in four positions - from striker to attacking mid to both wings. But I take your point, Sanchez is not an out and out striker.

Why do they need that when Pedro and Messi down the wings has given them 70-75 goals this year.

Already? He's only been there for 4 months!

He has more capability than Rossi to do that.

Sanchez made his name as a winger, now he's having his best season yet as a striker.

Rossi made his name as a striker. You stick him on the wing and he wont be as good

Incredibly gifted with the ball at his feet. In fairness he's ticks all the boxes for a Manchester United player:

Eye for a goal
Fantastic Pace
Talent for pulling off the unexpected
Incredible flair and skill

Suits us down to the ground.
