I still think we will end up with Young and that will leave Shitty with Sanchez...

Very probably. Though I can't see why on earth he would go given what he'd be competing with up there compared to here.

They'll make a few big sales to balance it out.

Tevez would fetch £40m in current market.

Tevez won't go to another European club. He wants to go home.

He'll go to Italy. Inter or Juve I bet.

Won't go home yet. Won't get the money he's on here or anything close over there.

Hi, im from Chile like Alexis. No matter how much money can offer MC, because he is searching get his dream and his dream is play on the Red Devils. He said years ago, when he played on the Chilean Football team Colo-Colo.

Just saw this in the comments section on that article, not much I know but it just reiterates what I have read before about Sanchez being a United fan.

Anyone could have written it and it can be a lie. Some sort of quote would be much more credible.

There were quotes last summer and the one before that, I realize anyone could have wrote that but it would be easier for someone to just simply state the case via the old quotes, rather than pretending to be Felipe from Chile.

Just out of interest, where or how would he fit into our team? Surely signing a big name will in all likelihood cost another player a starting spot...

For the record, I've been liking this fella for a good 3-4 years since he tore Bafana a new 1 in an international friendly.

He could play anywhere across midfield.

Cool thanks mate. Not a central midfielder in a 4-4-2 right?

I thought he's best suited for a wide role in a 4-3-3 or the "Rooney" withdrawn striker role in a 4-4-2. So it will be a difficult (albeit great) addition to the squad as 1 of Nani/Chich or Valencia will drop to a more rotational / squad role (miss the bigger games).

He definitely can't play in CM in a 4-4-2 but he can play in the Rooney role just behind the striker in a 4-3-3.

That's pretty much spot on, he'd give us another high quality versatile attacker, his low center of gravity and dribbling would suit our style and the Prem IMO.

Does anybody else think we are merely window shopping, we like what we see but don't have the money to make a bid/buy the player?

I think we can spend 30-35m on a player if we wanted to. I think there is no case at all where we would more than 40 or 50m on a player.

Isn`t he similar to Nani?

Aside from them both being pacey dribblers there's not a lot of similarities I don't think. Sanchez's most useful abilities besides this are his ability to threaten in behind and his impressive passing game, while these are possible Nani's two biggest weak points. On the other hand Nani's two biggest strengths are his crossing and striking ability from distance, Sanchez struggles with both.

I may have exaggerated for effect, I possibly should have said that it's not his strength (and vice-versa).

That said I've seen plenty of poor crosses from him, hit it low, hard and without real direction is an apparent theme.

Yeah everyone puts in bad crosses from time to time. When Ronaldo first came here, look at his crossing and look at his crossing when he left. Sanchez can improve easily.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us open up the check book and spend 75 million this summer. Combined with a couple of players going out a net spend of 50 million wouldn't be out of the question. Its not like we don't have the money. If we do get De Gea and Sanchez there's 50 and then the price to get a midfielder. On top of that.

Bollocks he can. He'd never work in the center of a 2 man midfield.

As good as this lad is, we'd have to play 4-3-3 to properly suit him. We play him as a winger then either Valencia or Nani miss out on a regular basis, we play him behind the striker then Rooney is forced up front again.

Still want him though.

I agree. There will be a lot of players leaving in the summer and the squad will need a few additions. The money is there and I think fergie knows it's time to splash out or get left behind.

DM also says the club want £32m for him and we're prepared to offer £18m

Wave goodbye to Sanchez then.

Yes, let's take Daily Mail's report as a base of having a pop at our club.

Well done.

Wasn't having a pop, was just posting what the DM said.

Cheers

I'm not sure if the DM also added in a laughing smiley, but seeing it's your habit to act like a gimp in the transfer forums, I shouldn't have replied to your post in the first place.

Cheers

Real Madrid leave Sanchez to Man Utd after Udinese talks | Premiership News | tribalfootball.com

Real Madrid are leaving Udinese star Alexis Sanchez to Premier League clubs.

Sanchez's minders have spent the past week meeting with representatives from Real, Manchester United and Manchester City.

AS says Udinese's £30 million asking price is deemed too rich by Real and those close to negotiations say they expect the Chilean to end up in England this summer.

Sanchez favours a move to United, though City do have the spending power to meet Udinese's asking price.

He'd be a great signing. Not sure what Nani is doing. I'd prefer t player who is predominantly left-footed though and that is the only thing which makes me think we're window shopping as far as he's concerned right now.

Unless Nani is leaving I can't see us signing him. But it is possible.

Don't see why, the lad plays a offensive central role who can also play on the wings. I see him more as Michael Owens replacement more than I do Nani's.
