Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

If he doesn't come here for our sack i hope he goes Inter. Wouldn't want him at say a Chelsea.

Based off you think we are broke? because we have bought plenty of high profile players in the past.

High profile players who weren't playing in England? Not that many, actually. I think we've got the money, but if Udinese can make it an auction with Chelsea, etc, it won't be enough. We got Hernandez right on time, might be a little too late here.

Ruud, Veron and Hargreaves were pretty hot properties when we bought them off foreign clubs, I just don't buy that Chelsea or City can out gun us unless they are willing to offer stupid money, and none of us need him badly enough for that. I think he will go for a decent price but it will be as much about where he wants to go as anything.

Sanchez has been flashing his ankle at united for months, well over a year i'd say.

Chelsea may well feel they need to refresh their midfield/wings (if they plan to maybe change formation next season, could happen if they change managers). They just spent big money on two players, so who knows if the cheque book will be closed now. City, probably not - but you never know.

The question is competition. We didn't have any for Hargo, Veron wanted out of Italy, while there was talk of Real and Ruud, but he couldn't say no to Fergie after the way he treated him during his injury. It's mostly about the money though, and when Sanchez stars every week with a hat trick or a goal like today, someone could be targetting him.

I'm just realistic. We're more likely to sign Young.

If he becomes available, I'd be amazed if City and Chelsea weren't in for him also, thus driving up the price exponentially.

I think we may regret not moving for him earlier. I have a feeling Chelsea have him in their sights and we may be outbid. I don't doubt for a second we're interested though.

Would prefer that Young is a positive choice and not a case of sloppy seconds as it were.

You often see foriegn managers sign from leagues they're most familiar.

The likes of Sanchez and Pastore are surely on ancelotti's radar

I'd say Chelsea will break the bank for Kaka'

I hope they do - wouldn't be the first time they've paid a fortune for an ex AC Milan "star" who is over the hill.

Big question mark as to whether he'd be any good over here - no pace, not to physical and by all accounts has dodgy knees giving him various injury problems (hence why he's hardly figured for Madrid)

Can't see why they'd bother.

How much should Torres have cost?!!

Stupid money is £18m for Lescott. £25m for James Milner.

I don't think stupid money is Torres for £50m. If it was a situation where United needed or wanted Torres would you not expect us to pay the same amount? Considering we paid £30m for Berbatov:smirk:

Why pay that amount of money for a guy who's been off form for over a year and is a perma-crock?

If we sold Rooney in January how much would you expect? £30m?

I think we would be talking Torres money.

Despite Torres current form I think Chelsea were taking the view that it was down to the messy situations at Anfield over the last two seasons, so they paid the target price for a player who was not long ago regarded as one of the top 5 strikers in world football, who had proven he could do it in the Prem.

Sanchez will go for between £25 and £30M IMO.
