I think it's fair to say that nobody knows anything about the potential transfer of Sanchez...

This is shaping up to be one of the worst transfer sagas ever... depending on the ending of course ;)

That's the first time Unietd have been mentioned in a while, he's just clearly got his heart set on Barca. Good luck to him.

He is a United fan. When no offers are coming in from our side, I don't expect him to beg us to make an offer. He was interested in taking the next best offer - Barca and not City.

Would be great if we actually knew Uniteds position was on this - are we willin to cough up £30m or so to get a super player that could light up OT like Ronnie did, or not bother? Personally, United got £80m to soften the blow, so spendin £30m+ on him is feck all imo. This could turn into the Ronaldinho saga where we were tight. If we can get him for £30m+, feckin get him Gill ffs & feck wrangling..

feck it who needs midfielders, let's continue to stock up on attackers and go back to 07-08 with our fluid attack.

Nb. He really does seem like a Fergie player to me.

EXCLUSIVE: Sanchez refuses to board plane to Manchester for City talks

Alexis Sanchez turned into a non-flying winger when he refused to get on a plane to join Manchester City in a stunning £30 million deal.

Chilean star Sanchez was cleared to leave his country’s training camp to speak to City about a move to the Premier League after the megabucks outfit stepped ahead of Barcelona and Manchester United with the best bid.

However Sanchez rocked his club Udinese by telling them he would not go as he does not consider City to be his favoured option - he would rather join United or speak to Barca to find out their plans.

The drama was played out at Santiago airport where media gathered to see Sanchez fly off - only to find out he had put the block on the transfer.

Sanchez thought he was going to speak to Champions League Barca, but their offer of a player plus cash was rejected by Udinese who preferred City’s hard cash over the Spanish package or United’s £27 million offer.

However the exciting attacking star has now decided to have his say in the transfer tug-of-war and his action leaves United and Barca trying to persuade Udinese to take less money.

Barca only want to commit £22 million to the deal and have offered a selection of swaps, but their fringe men like Bjoan Krkic, Thiago Alcantara and Jeffren have said ‘no thanks’ to Udinese.

United are sitting comfortably in the background, still confident that their straight-cash deal will win the day - although time is also a factor in the race.

Sanchez is due to play for Chile in the Copa America which starts in a week. His national federation do not want to risk him appearing in case he is injured, while Udinese want him sold by then to spend the money.

Funny as feck, poor little City!

He wants Barca
Barca want him
Barca's finances apparently are not in great shape
They know he wants them and they can grind Udinese down to a better price like what they are doing wtih Fiberglass
Saying that Utd are still in with a chance is Udinese and his agents way of saying hurry the F#@k up Barca and close the deal

Go get him Fergie. Forget about that Modric and Sneijder

Nani--Hernandez--Sanchez

Rooney

Carrick--Fletcher

Evra--Rio--Vidic--Any Twin

De Gea

You know you'll love it

I made this last year. There is still hope.... (De Gea didn't show up for the shoot) ;)

Another day, another load of Sanchez. The transfer saga that never ends, but does add weekly humiliation to City.

Seems we are playing a waiting game to see how the deal pans, don't think we are desperate to sign Sanchez and will only do so when the likes of Barca & Shitty pull out..

What a load of Sanchez! (see i'm creating a new term)

I think Fabregas and Arsenal may influence the decisions here. Let's play the waiting game...

The point is nobody knows anything, and yet every day there are people saying "it looks like...." or "now it seems that....", it's all complete guess work based on absolutely nothing.

I agree. Which creates a good basis for a pleasant waiting game....

Let's hope noone starts playing dirty.

Nobody likes a Dirty Sanchez.

Udinese have rejected claims that Alexis Sanchez refused to meet with Manchester City.

Reports have suggested that the Chile star has his heart set on a move to Barcelona and, as a consequence, he is refusing to even meet City.

The English club are understood to have lodged a larger offer than Barca with Udinese, who are trying to offer players in exchange.

Gino Pozzo, the son of Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo, has confirmed that Barca remain favourites for his signature, but he insisted Sanchez has not stated that Barca is his preference.

"I can say that Barcelona have the advantage over Manchester City right now," Pozzo said.

"The player has not manifested any particular preference, although naturally we will listen to his opinion.

"We haven't concluded any deal yet because there are still some details to work through."

Reports claim that Barca's attempts to include Jeffren in a deal are not going down well with the player, while the chances of Udinese accepting Jonathan Soriano appear to have diminished also

Correct me if I am wrong but he didn't even mention us.. Are we not involved anymore? I know it was well accounted that we did bid for him.. Did we back out once the price went beyond our reach?

I don't know if its possible for us to have told Uidinese to keep our involvement silent.. That sounds very unlikely.. This surely is one of the lesser understood transfers this summer.. Closely followed by the Varane transfer..

If we backed out it was probably when Fergie learnt of his desire to play for Barcelona.

Looks that way.Straight fight between Shitty and Barca with Shitty having no chance.

That's probably true but what if Barca don't manage to get him? By the looks of things City have been the only club that have had a bid accepted..

it was either Young or Sanchez and Fergie opted for Young

There are two stories going around regarding United's stance in this deal:

1. We never put a bid in for Sanchez, the asking price was too high but we had shown interest in Jan. Udinese used our name to increase the interest from Citeh & Barca and ultimately bump up the bids.

2. We did bid, bid was acknowledged, but Barca agreed a fee too and Sanchez seemingly decided he wants the move to Barca. The Barca deal has hit a snag, but no other bid has come from us!

To be honest I believe the first story (just my opinion), because from some of the things mentioned about Sanchez & United in the past if we had a bid accepted I'm sure he'd still be mulling over a move to us or Barca now.

I don't think that's how we do our transfers.. We were going to get Young irrespective of whether we were getting Sanchez or not..

Dont think so - both are wingers, and while Sanchez might have been the first priority, now we are getting Young as we couldnt get Sanchez. Doubt we would buy 2 new wingers

Both played the majority of last season through the middle if I'm not mistaken.
