Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

Imagine if we had Manchester United B getting our players experience in the championship every year.

Sorry this is off-topic but is Spanish football set up to completely and constantly help develop Barca's youth at every single level at every turn?

You can't compete with that multifaceted layer of coaching, playing time and young player acquisition laws in Spain.

Either UEFA step in and allow all European countries similiar set-ups, or institutions like the FA who believe cavemen like Stuart Pearce to be adequate to manage our U21's while allowing our most promising youngsters to miss important international tournaments just because the player has got the notion he's above the tournament.

Does my fecking skull in tbh.

I dont see that it s problem really.

Clearly there is not enough money in the lower levels of the game in Spain to have a professional league as extensive as England - with even clubs in the Conference now pretty much full time.

Clubs like Barca and Madrid have a "second team" where a few of the lads may make it to the first team but where the majority will not - indeed some are in their mid twenties and will never make the grade at the club or at any club in the Primera Liga.

Its arguably no different from United (or any other English club) loaning out 5 fo six players to clubs in the Championship - something which United have done time and again for years.

Young had his medical - which means Sanchez wont move to United. Time to pack in lads and move on

Summer is cruel. Some people go to exotic places. Others go to Skegness. Barca get Sanchez. We get Young

`

thats the spirit. Pity everyone doesnt feel that way...

I've no problem with Young. However the idea that the signing of Young affects the idea of signing Sanchez or thinking that Sanchez is an incredible player is something I don't get.

We were asking about Ozil and bidding for Sanchez while we already had Young.

You don't think Sanchez is an incredible player gambs?

111 Pages of ********. And still counting.

Get over it dudes. Sanchez is a Barca boy.

Besides, his asking price is ridiculous. As Fergie would say. "NO VALUE"

Young would be just as good.

Except this is still a transfer saga, we know he's going to Barca, until he signs though this belongs in the transfer forum.

I was always hopeful that a few injuries and they'd be buggered, not anymore.

Just like before they looked like signing him, a few injuries in defensive positions and they might be buggered. But they were always going to have enough coming forward

It was more the forwards I was thinking off. They've had key players missing in defence which seems to minimally affect them. If they're in for all the signings they seem to be then it does feel like they're shoring up their attacking options with good understudies.

Nah their bench strength wasn't too great even in the forward positions. Bojan was their only backup striker and he's a bit average. Now they've got Afellay and Sanchez as backup to the Villa Messi Pedro trio so they're much stronger than before when it comes to Squad strength.

If the figures being bandied about for him are true, i think we can write off any big name signings this year from the continent, every player will suddenly be claimed as being between the €40 to €50 mil figure.

Is that Sanchez account real? 57k followers says it is and he....follows Manchester United!!

Despite the number of followers, it's rumoured to be a fake account. It's not 'Twitter-verified' for a start.

EXCLUSIVE: Sanchez refuses to board plane to Manchester for City talks

Alexis Sanchez turned into a non-flying winger when he refused to get on a plane to join Manchester City in a stunning £30 million deal.

Chilean star Sanchez was cleared to leave his country’s training camp to speak to City about a move to the Premier League after the megabucks outfit stepped ahead of Barcelona and Manchester United with the best bid.

However Sanchez rocked his club Udinese by telling them he would not go as he does not consider City to be his favoured option - he would rather join United or speak to Barca to find out their plans.

The drama was played out at Santiago airport where media gathered to see Sanchez fly off - only to find out he had put the block on the transfer.

Sanchez thought he was going to speak to Champions League Barca, but their offer of a player plus cash was rejected by Udinese who preferred City’s hard cash over the Spanish package or United’s £27 million offer.

However the exciting attacking star has now decided to have his say in the transfer tug-of-war and his action leaves United and Barca trying to persuade Udinese to take less money.

Barca only want to commit £22 million to the deal and have offered a selection of swaps, but their fringe men like Bjoan Krkic, Thiago Alcantara and Jeffren have said ‘no thanks’ to Udinese.

United are sitting comfortably in the background, still confident that their straight-cash deal will win the day - although time is also a factor in the race.

Sanchez is due to play for Chile in the Copa America which starts in a week. His national federation do not want to risk him appearing in case he is injured, while Udinese want him sold by then to spend the money.

are we supposed to be in with a chance of signing this chap?

If he does not go to Barca, he will be ready to come to United but will Fergie pay £32m for him especially with us signing Young for around £15m very soon?
