Anyone hoping this is going to be like the ronaldinho transfer in reverse with barca not willing give enough and us pinching him

Did we even put in a bid for Sanchez in the first place? Cos there is not a single word from us from day 1 while Barca and City are making the noises

I agree but we have never really made noises about transfers before actually agreeing the deal.

On the other hand, its a common practice in Spain and Italy to talk openly about transfers.

We have a policy now were we don't discuss or comment on transfer targets unless Ferguson accidentally lets it slip on Sky.

Anyway it looks like we're entering the second phase of the Sanchez cycle with City now becoming the destination, the cycle seems to be eeking out it's time so in a couple of days (Thursday) it should be us again.

Great. Can't wait.

Did we actually hear anything from the club about the Phil Jones transfer until he only had the contract to sign? I don't think so I May be wrong though. Also haven't heard a thing.about ashly young despite 99% of us and pretty much all the media outlets convinced its all but done. Now I don't think well get sanchez but I think its more than possible we made him an offer and if barca can't get the money together we are surely his second choice.

Udinese's Spanish representative Quique Pina, who is also chairman of Granada, has stated that the transfer of Chile international Alexis Sanchez from Udinese to Barcelona is almost complete.

The 22-year-old attacker has long been linked with a move to the Champions League winners and, although Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo stated on Monday that a transfer was still some way off, Pina has confirmed that Sanchez is edging ever closer to being unveiled as a Barcelona player.

It had been suggested that Manchester City were set to make a last-ditch bid to persuade the player to move to Eastlands, but Pina was quoted as saying by Cadena Cope: "At the moment, Barcelona are on the verge of completing the final details of the move and we could say that it's basically a done deal. The deal is 80 per cent done and we're working on the remaining 20%.

"The transfer will be worth an amount in the region of €45 million, a figure close to the initial valuation of the player. This fee included some variables and one player."

Barca will reportedly pay an initial fee of €28m plus €5m in variables for Sanchez, while Spain under-21 winger Jeffren Suarez will leave Camp Nou for Udinese as part of the agreement.

Sanchez is currently preparing for the Copa America with Chile's national side, but head coach Claudio Borghi confirmed on Monday that he doesn't have any problems with Sanchez temporarily leaving the training camp to complete his move to the Catalan giants.

Udinese have revealed Alexis Sanchez's move to #FCB is 80% done. Bad news for #MCFC #MUFC.

Shutters.

Summer is a painful time to be a United fan. It is so weird. Man United are supposed to be the biggest sports club in the world. The most decorated club in England. The richest european football club bar Real and Barcelona. And yet teams like City, Chelsea are 20 times more likely to sign a top athlete during summer. We like to dream about Wesley Sneijder or Alexis Sanchez, but the truth is United are not capable to attract such well established talent.

Barcelona and Real will buy world class players for their bench options, City will get them self Zlatan and Aguero .Chelsea will get KAKA and Neymar. even declining team like Milan and Inter always make most exciting transfers. But never United

United is like this stupid jew kid on Christmas eve , looking through the window , all alone and depressed, to the kids down the street who all are playing with their new toys that they've been waiting for a year. We United fans just like that jewish kid, are left in disgust when summer transfer window opens, and all we can do is to watch at other teams excitedly unwrapping their new "toys". Knowing that we will never be in their place.

God i despise summer. it breaks my heart every single year

Erm, we are about to sign probably the hottest property in goalkeeping, we have signed the future of English centre-backs and regardless of what some idiots in here say, Ashley Young is a seriously talented lad.

Not a bad start. Don't get so carried away with names.

That fella Hernandez was not a big name when we signed him, but will be the player we will struggle to hold on to over the next two seasons.

So sad that someone has actually got themselves into such a sorry state over a lack of marquee signings that they have to write that.

unlike the one where you say we'll struggle to hold onto Hernandez for two more seasons? I don't think so...

He is a loyal lad, but I guarantee you there will be a lot of unwanted attention from the annoying Spanish clubs.

this summer is so shitty and depressing that post is more valid with each day.

I know, I mean the transfer window hasn't even opened yet and all we've done is spend £50m on 2 of the most talented youngsters in Europe and a solid winger.

WE'RE DOOMED!

There will be but he will be here for ages. However, it always helps to show balls in the transfer market. People joke about it but it's an important part of the sport.

It's the money.............pure and simple. Chelsea and city I got news for you...your not big clubs. It's all about the money

Why is this summer depressing? Spoken like a true transfer muppet.

We've actually signed 3 players and are likely to sign another, feels like a great summer to me.

its not about the quantity. and only 1 transfer have been confirmed. For example have you got excited when last summer we got Bebe from portugues 3rd division? I can admit i got initially a little excited for a day but thats it. Now compare it to the feeling when we signed Wayne Rooney. Was watching the clip of Rooney early goals the other day, and remember the day how i felt when we signed him that elating unforgettable feeling that gives me warmth to this day. A young kid that stared in euro 2004 and made you greatest impression signs for United. Now its been 7 years since when, and you just want to feel such excitement again.

You really are laughable.

I don't understand how you couldn't get that "feeling" ( ) after we signed Anderson, Nani, Berbatov, even Chicarito.

All 3 signings are pretty much done.

You're not excited about signing Europe's most talented young Keeper?
Or England's most talented young defender?

You should really feck off and support Real or City.

So you didn't feel that after seeing Hernandez bagging two very well taken goals at the World Cup?

I know I bloody did.

well its not what we have been hoping for is it? we dreamed about sanchez, sneijder and modric. and now its very unlikely we got any of them

de gea is good kid, but he is coming to replace VDS. and we will be weaker in that position than last year

Jones is going to be just 4th-5th choice centre back and is one for a future

Young is squad player.

I mean short term United hardly improved. and personally i wanted United to get closer to barcelona to challenge them as equals next years UCL. seems it aint gonna happen.

oh yeah anderson, nani and hargreaves couple of days latter was very cool. forgot about that. so it wasnt 7 years, its 3 years since something exciting

Yeah you're right, we should spend the 200m it would cost to even get remotely closer to the best footballing team of all time.

The transfer window hasn't even opened you pleb, we've signed 3 players ALREADY. And yes they will improve the squad, not monumentally but they will.

Some people have no patience at all.
