Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

Udinese's chairman Giampalo Pozzo spoke to radiostation RAC1 and has said that Barca's offer - so far - is not good enough.

There are many interested clubs, but Sanchez wants to move to Barca.
What! You mean all his attempts at trying to hike the price by pretending United are interested, plus saying he didn't want a bidding war when he was desperate for one, have not paid off.

Aww. poor bloke...

And why would Rossi's agent be ITK???

I just dont know - it s what he said in the interview. Interestingly Pozzo, Udinese's chairman said that he values Sanchez at 50 million and that Barca's offer is not enough.

Now, if Barca really offered 40 million, I cannot see us outbidding them.

Giampaolo Pozzo is back to talk about Alexis Sanchez , on the afternoon of 24 Radio : "Barcelona have made an offer not entirely adequate, but it is the target that the player prefers. He is pushing for that situation, even for issues language and culture. We have to wait another few days. I do not profit but a matter of fair value. "

rough translation from Gazzetto.

anyone who thinks this kid is not going to Barcelona is off their head

Well, if Pozzo says so, he'll want the most money and to link anyone would have built this.

Would be a big shame if Sanchez does go.. I feel he might have a hard time to get in if they persist with Villa/Pedro/Messi that for me have gelled in already.

But... Good luck for him then. I know Sanchez is still a United supporter deep within his heart.

Perhaps Rossi's agent was informed because he wanted to know if Barcelona were still going to have the money to sign Rossi if they complete the Sanchez deal?

Why are so many desperate to sign this player? I understand he is a wing-forward who plays on the right or through the middle. With our options in these positions, this is perhaps our lowest priority.

Is he the type of rare talent that we cannot allow to join another top club, or are we just craving a big-name signing?

Nani will be better than him next season.

Hopefully Anderson fulfills his talent too.

And of course we get Sniejder and Young.

Would be a perfect summer for me.

The former as he's not a big name.

Definitely the former, IMHO. Though if there is one top club that we could allow him to join, it would be Barca (not that we really have a sayin the matter). I don't think he'll improve Barca all that much, because I'm not sure that they CAN be improved that much. His inclusion would mean leaving out a very quality player in their own right. But it will add another quick, shifty, outstanding dribbler, which will create even more space.

My far bigger concern would be if he went to City.

Muppetry is not my thing, though. It would be brilliant if he came, but if not, I just pray that he doesn't go to City or elsewhere in the PL.

Why haven't the Abu Dhabians blown Barca's bid out of the water?

Strange that.

My guess is that they won't offer him the monster £200k plus wages because they need to pull their accounts in order and his agent has informed them that there is no other attraction there for him so they should just sod off and do one.

In those words and all.

I have finally (painfully) accepted there isn't a chance he's United bound.

Shame as I think he would have been the new Ronaldo style catalyst, along with Rooney.

It is shit being a Man United fan in these transfer sagas. We never seem to beat teams to good players. Sigh...

Don't beat teams to good players? Were you not around last week when we got Jones?

We beat 4th placed Arsenal and 6th placed Liverpool to his signature, didn't exactly have Barca and co sniffing about him.

I think Valencia's the only case where we've had a Latin player choose us over the usual big names.

So beating teams to a good player isn't good enough? We have to beat some of the best teams in the world to the very best players in the world with the very top prices? That's what we want?

Spending for the sake of spending isn't going to help. SAF will buy what he wants, but he will not be held at ransom. Unfortunately, he is one of the only managers with this approach at a big club.

I didn't say it wasn't good enough, heck I prefer our low-key approach to signings, its an approach which netted us Hernandez and Smalling.

All I'm saying is that we're very rarely preferred to the likes of Barca and Madrid when it comes to signing big names. I'm not that particularly bothered but I'm just saying that how it is.

Anyone hoping this is going to be like the ronaldinho transfer in reverse with barca not willing give enough and us pinching him
