Alexis Sanchez | Udinese: No Deal Yet

More importantly which page did we sign Bebe?

Well now, it's a bit difficult to determine that exactly but we'll make a valiant attempt.

The Guardian's article about United signing Bebe is dated Wednesday 11 August 2010 21.48 BST. At that time the Özil thread was 133 pages old and though nobody posted anything at 21.48, a minute later wr8_utd asked "Is that true that he'll be only cup tied for group stages?".

Those who wish to avoid another Bebe situation may start a petition to ban wr8_utd from this thread. Although one could argue that giggs_beckham's post, a minute before the Guardian's announcement (I cannot find the official website's statement) triggered the signing of Bebe: "Cus he could be a top player for us for years due to his age and imense talent. I actually do think he is the missing piece we need." (Özil, not Bebe). So you may ban him as well, just as a precaution.

"And he looks like The Rock...which rhymes with...you get the picture, sir." *winks*

I have been thinking for a while of getting wr8 banned from the transfer forum.

This whole thing is fecking boring now, just hurry up and sign for somebody. The sooner pre season rolls around the better, transfer muppetry is shite.

Do you guys think this is possible because City may have bid much more than Barcelona.. Thus Udinese are using that to pressure Barcelona into paying them more?

However with all said and done I think at the end of the day its the players decision.. I remember Beckham had 2 offers: Real and Barcelona.. Barcelona had actually bid higher but Beckham didn't want to go there so he went to Real for a lesser amount of money.. Although we were desperate to get rid of him then.. Udinese actually want to keep hold of him... This may just put Barca under more pressure to pay up or risk losing out on him.. With him either staying on at Udinese or joining City.. The latter imo is not likely..

Great negotiation from Udinese, what Barcelona offered was way beyond Sanchez's market value (£35m PLUS a youngster that is apparently very talented). I think they might be trying to wind City up to make a £45m bid or something which isn't unthinkable.

He's not coming here though, that's definite. We won't even offer them £35m and that's apparently not enough to buy him.

No Barcelona bid £24 plus a youngster. Udinese have made it clear they don't want player swaps as part of the deal.

Plus £10m in bonuses and it's Barcelona, you know they're going to pay them.

My understanding is Barca can't afford the fee and Alexis does not want to go Shitty, we have a chance, albeit very slight!

Amidst all the talk, why are we even so sure that we made a proper bid for him? All that has been reported is that City are offering a lot of money for him (as confirmed by someone from their staff in an interview a few pages back), that Barcelona want him badly and can pay a lot (as confirmed by their director). Everything that points to him going to United is Gazzetta reported meeting between Pozzo and Gill that no one has officially spoken about.

And that could easily have been them guessing based on the fact we've talked about him as an "interesting project" in the past. We've clearly kept an eye on him but we've no idea if we're bidding for him

Troll Guy at your service.

This is like that evening out we've all had where you spend hours thinking you're getting close to some girl but you're never quite sure if she's going home with you. The suggestive looks, the flirting, the close contact. Then you awake outside in a pile of beer and vomit and just manage to squint your eyes to make out her being shafted hard in a nearby alleyway by some stronger, more handsome guy

As I said before

I read on twitter that we never made bid.
We kept tabs on him like we do with dozens of players but were never interested in paying that amount+ wages as we needed a backup.
All stories coming out of Italy. The club or players agent trying to get attention/jack up the price.

Its the rich man's Joe Cole story for this year.

Without question, our interest has been exaggerated.

Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo is abit of a joke isn't he?

People will be reluctant to deal with him in the future me thinks.

Why?

For holding out for what he wants for his player?

Clubs like Barca (and other top clubs like United, City, Madrid and Chelsea for that matter) use the media to unsettle players in the hope that it will give them an advantage in negotiations - essentially to try and hold the selling clubs to ransom.

Fair play to him for turning the tables - putting Barca under pressure to up their offer and letting other clubs know the deal isnt done.

Besides - he'll probably be thrilled if he puts other clubs off from coming after his star players.

At least Sky Sports have now managed to find some other footage of him other than him doing 16 step-overs

Only a matter of time before they work out the finer details. Get your arses to the Sneijder thread, he'd be a much better signing for us anyway.

Udinese's chairman Giampalo Pozzo spoke to radiostation RAC1 and has said that Barca's offer - so far - is not good enough.

There are many interested clubs, but Sanchez wants to move to Barca.
