what a surprise? :boring:
I will now have to requote page turning yawning so and so!
Udinese have stated no deal has been brokered with Barcelona for Alexis Sanchez amid weekend reports the starlet would be flying in to finalise the transfer.

The 22-year-old forward is currently training with the Chilean national squad ahead of next month's Copa America, but was thought to be ready to leave the camp to rubber-stamp the transfer.

The Catalan giants have reportedly offered €28million (£24.6m) up front along with a €11m (£9.6m) bonus and promising youngster Jonathan Soriano in exchange.

However, Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo insists Sanchez remains the club's player as Barcelona's offer remains well short of the club's asking price.

"Sanchez is still an Udinese player," he told Sky Sport 24 Italia. "I'm sorry about this 'saga'. We wanted to keep him for another year to help us with the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.

"But unfortunately we're not a big club in Europe, so when top clubs put their eyes on our player you cannot do anything. But the right offer has not yet arrived.

"Barcelona's offer is not yet the right price, and everyone knows it: both Barcelona and other big clubs. Between us and Barcelona we are still far away."

We need an update on the thread title. Lets see if we can get it to 8,000 posts!

Right so if form is anything to go by City should now be dead certs to sign him for a few days then it will be us again then one of the Italian clubs.

So, basically...

- Sanchez wants to go to Barca

- There offer is 'way' off what Udinese want and others will pay

- They have recently made contact with Arsenal for Fabregas

Looks like there is a small possibility he will not end up at Barca. They may choose to go with Fabregas, who clearly is the #1 choice.

Let's see.

I'd still say its about 80% likely he'll be at Barca :(

Apparently, this is the last week before David Gill goes on holiday. Worth bearing in mind.

and everything was going fine until now, said the pig with the apple in it's mouth!

@TransferUpdate has Sanchez related "news" coming up. Yet another itk.

Sounds like Barca are playing the "he wants to come here" card and won't match the prices of the other interested clubs.

City have no doubt "done a Berba" on them

How do you know he wants to go Barcelona?....there is too much bs for anyone to really seperate fact from fiction. The only thing legit is no one (it looks like) has had an offer accepted yet.

Marca are saying that Pozzo wants €50 million.

I agree.

However, every indication is that he wants to go there. For example, the fact that the president of Udinese mentions them explicitly; 'Barca'd offer is not yet right' - implies when it is, it will be done.

Can't we pay him stupid money and win a high profile transfer battle for once?

I can't blame Pozzo for this, his team have qualified for the Champions League and he's after top dollar for his star player when this may be the last transfer window he will get the ridiculously high money he's after.

So he'll just go to City, big deal.

I just checked the Özil thread in the classics: around the 100th page that was also full of rumours about Özil's imminent transfer to Barcelona. I'm beginning to think the papers base their rumours and news on the length of the Caf's transfer threads. Certain number of pages means certain teams; the number of Kermits posted in a pre-determined section of the thread (i.e.: between pages 80 and 90) are used to set the price quoted in the articles.

On which page did Ozil move to Madrid?

Pah, Ozil's gone downhill since he went to Madrid.

Oh now the rest of that Borghi interview is revealed.
Borghi also said that Sanchez would be an excellent addition to the Barcelona ranks.

"We have spoken about this possibility he has," Borghi said. "It's not easy. He's 22 and his transfer costs a lot of money, but he is ready to play anywhere.
