Alexis Sanchez | Staying at Arsenal after City deal falls apart

His performances since the 2016-17 season arguably hasn't matched what he has done in 2014-15 though. I remember in that season he was tearing teams apart at will with his pace and quick changing of direction. I'm not sure if their squad was much better in 14-15 than today. I think he could still sign a new contract there IF Arsenal win the Europa League. I'd rather see United biding for Harry Kane though. Younger, top scorer in the last few seasons. For the sake of the player I hope he leaves Arsenal anyway.

Surely he's going? He looks miserable unless he's on the bench.

I thought he was awful today as well.

Bid 60mil for him, offer him a 2 year-withanoptionfor3rdyear contract at 400,000 pounds a week, then win the league.:drool::drool:

;)

He must be so annoyed that he's wasted the prime of his career at Arsenal. Taking aside rivalries, I hope he gets to move ASAP for his sake, and for football's.

He's going to be very very hungry at whatever club he goes too next. Will be a lucky team to have a Sanchez desperate to win something.

I reckon he will even move to Spurs if they make a move for him tomorrow. That's how much he doesn't want to be there at Arsenal

Don't get why people act like we're not interested, I'm sure we'll have made a move behind the scenes, but he simply doesn't want to play for us. Didn't before, doesn't now. Just because the media isn't reporting our interest, doesn't mean it never existed.

That isn't necessarily true.

The club already made a massive investment this summer and probably there's no more room for another big transfer.

Sorry, but I'm not buying that bullshit.about "I'm only care about winning". He's betraying his club for a big contract. It looks like PSG was his first option, but they got a much better player and now the only option left is City. Nobody else will offer him 400k per week.

After today's team's performance, I don't see him staying at Arsenal. Arsenal lack ambition and the tactics were completely wrong against a rampant counter attacking liverpool side.

He's going to push for a transfer, we'd be mad not to try and add him to our squad.

I'm 99.9% certain he's only going to get a transfer to a Premiership club, surely Arsenal would prefer him to come to us rather than City or Chelsea.

Surely City do not need him? It doesn't make sense they'd add to their already 200m+ signings for another attacking player. Also do not think Chelsea will splash the cash as they've already spent 70m on Morata.

We should be trying to beat everyone to signing him. He's our missing match winner from making us a great team.

----------De Gea
Valencia-Jones-Bailey-Shaw
------Matic-Pogba
Sanchez-Miki-Martial
---------Lukaku.

Scary.

If city do buy him something will surely have to give amongst the Aguero/Jesus/B.Silva/D.Silva/Sterling/Sane/Sanchez group even if you consider De Bruyne a CM these days. I am not sure I would know which to pick, and especially if they play a back three with Walker and Mendy as FBs and De Bruyne and Fernandinho/Gundogan/Yaya CM. I guess maybe Sanchez, Aguero, Sane? That leaves too many out surely? Even if they play 4 at the back and you fit a Silva in there you still have a bit of a problem.

I think van Persie finished any chance of an Arsenal prime player going to United under Wenger. It would just be another nail in his coffin.

Jose should offer 40m right now, turn his head, and see what Arsenal do. I'm sure Arsenal will want more and there could be a few clubs interested.
Pretty sure City are in for more than that already behind the scenes. Not a chance he moves for £40m, £60m+ if he does go.

Ashley Young + Cash. C'mon, they bought Welbeck, surely they'd consider Young a fine deal...
Ashley young + 40mln will be a very good deal. Wenger can use that money to buy 4 new kids next season.

No need. We have Lukaku. Put it Lukaku in the Spurs last season, and Kane in Everton, there will be a goal gap for sure.

So many people here overvaluing Harry Kane likes he is the New Shearer. Kane is good striker, but that's it. He is not any better than Lukaku.

Even if only for 2 years, Sanchez will strengthen us. And he won't make Rashford or Martial loose their spot. He can play at Mkhi/Mata position.

Cheeky bid, 40 million plus Mkhirtayan. Win win solution for us and Arsenal.

55 million
Offer smalling and young on top for free( they need defenders desperately so could help negotiation)
give Sanchez 250k a week
give him the "7" shirt.

Bing bang bosh title is ours.

I agree with the player exchange idea, that would certainly soften the blow for Wenger.

I'm not certain we'd let Smalling go at this stage, Lindelof hasn't adapted that well as of yet and I suspect Mourinho wouldn't want to risk losing Smalling in case of injuries.

Are you mad Mkhitaryan has given us 5 assists in 3 games? He has potential to be one of our best players.

That being said I didn't realise he is 28, 29 in Jan. He is only a month younger than Sanchez so actually a swap deal wouldn't be a completely crazy suggestion. But I think I'd prefer as well as rather than instead of.

£40m plus Smalling.
That actually is an interesting thought. I am a big Smalling fan and hate how he is attacked on this forum, but ultimately if Mourinho doesn't think he's a strong contender for our first choice central defence then using him at a sweetener for Sanchez could be an option. Wenger is a fan of his and has tried to sign him at least twice before.

I have a feeling there will be some transfer deadline day mayhem involving Sanchez*. Jim White will pee himself with excitement but you won't be able to notice because of the ridiculous yellow clothes they wear.

*It may or may not involve us.

If yesterday is anything to go by, Arsenal will take City's money.

Just seen on the Twitter page that he's put in a transfer request. Not sure if this is true but, if so, we really should be in for him.

Whilst yesterday (and the last 6 months) show the questionable attitude if things aren't going well, he has that something special that we could use to turn in to title challengers.
