Alexis Sanchez | Staying at Arsenal after City deal falls apart

Am I the only person who would consider offering them £100m for him and see if that get's him. I don't care that he is in the last year of his contract he is so what we need to compete for the league it is not funny.

Rumours from really shady sources that we put in a bid of 50 million for him. I would take it with a bag of salt.

Wengers latest quotes are telling.

“You cannot rule anything out, of course you are under threat as well. For me you have a sport decision, and the sport decision is easy – you keep him until the last day of his contract.

"Then you have a compromise to find if you can afford to do it because you lose a lot of money and at the end of the day my decision, which is purely sporting, is easy to make – I want him to stay, after that there is of course a lot of money involved as well and the club needs to make a financial sacrifice.”

If he goes, any slim hope of top 4 will go with it.

Surely he can't be that stupid...

70mln and I bet uncle Wenger willing to crack his own teeth and let him go.

This.
Think the decision will even be taken out of his hands.
Uncle Stan isn't going to throw away £70m...never.

The opportunity to sign theses kind of players is becoming rare and there's not that many WC players that aren't locked into their clubs or have been recently sold. I think we should be trying to sign him but I think he already knows where he is going whether this window or in a year from now....

Give them them whatever they want for Sanchez. Him on the right and Valencia wouldn't have to cross so much. Christ we'd be a ruthless machine.

Don't know if it's that perilous, but in the main, I agree. There's no one as good as Sanchez that Arsenal can buy who would be even close to as good. And the board would have to be worried about giving Wenger that sort of money when you see how he's spent in the last few years. After that, it's a basic financial decision. Do you take the £70m now, or bank on him scoring the goals to get you back in the CL and give you the platform to rebuild from a postition of relative strength after he has left. I'd keep them all and hope that they just knuckle down and work hard to get themselves a move at the end of their contracts.

Even on the evidence of this match, I'd be perfectly fine with offering upwards of £70/80m for him (assuming our accounting backs-up spending so much at this stage).

Shame there's no chance.

Playing up to the camera with his whole demeanor and head down attitude.

He has to go. Simply too good for a club that is going through a spell of (even more certain) mediocrity at the moment. And we're talking about arguably the leagues best footballer.

The problem is that if he goes, Manchester City could be his next destination.

True. Sadly they'll win the league if they sign him so let's hope not.

But for the player it's reached a point where his level is far higher than the football clubs.

Bit of a waste since he left Barca.

Then again, going to Liverpool would have been a similar experience for me.

I feel so sorry for Sanchez. His must be thinking "why the hell did I come back for?" I wish we could put a bid before the end of the window. He could well be the missing piece for us in terms of winning the title.

Got nothing to lose in throwing our hat into the ring to sign him

We're not going to bid for him. For whatever reason the club is just not interested.

Fecker is smiling and not even hiding it properly. Don't want this sort of malignant lump anywhere near our dressing room. Still the smirk on his face.

If we buy more we would need to offload as well. Mata wouldn't get enough games in middle or if Sanchez gets injured to keep him happy but he is loved by the fans, can often add something different coming on and he's a great guy but he's mostly just doing a job on the right for us.

I'd love for us to get Sanchez, and two footballing fullbacks.

Said many times before he'd be perfect for us! Why aren't we bidding for him?
Selling Sanchez to us at this point would be symbolically the worst thing the club could do. There is virtually no chance of it happening.

Don't get why people act like we're not interested, I'm sure we'll have made a move behind the scenes, but he simply doesn't want to play for us. Didn't before, doesn't now. Just because the media isn't reporting our interest, doesn't mean it never existed.
