Alexis Sanchez | Staying at Arsenal after City deal falls apart

Why would he go to City where they have have Jesus, the two Silvas, KDB and Aguero up top? Forgot to mention Sterling as well
You've sort of just answered your own question. A club that has that sort of quality in depth plus an innovative Coach, excellent wages and facilities makes for a decent platform for Sanchez to realise his stated ambitions.
The club are in the process of trying to turn their weak defence around and importantly have reportedly worked with him for some time in helping him get away from his current club.
I know that loyalty counts for very little these days but it would be a pretty low trick to let City do all the donkey work to facilitate the transfer then sign with someone else like United or Chelsea, but in this day and age last minute about turns happen.
The only scenario I can see where this might happen is if Arsenal ask for a ludicrous transfer fee and City refuse to pay it but another club will and Sanchez in his determination to leave Arsenal for a CL club switches suitor.

Fancy way of saying "chequebook fraud.. sorry manager".

If we are after another marquee signing then Alexis has to be it. He's top class and has proved to be one of the best players in the league. I'd take him over anyone else on the market right now

Out of the three clubs, I think he'd actually prefer Sanchez to sign for us if forced.
I think he'd fancy it here.

Do you mean in a team where he wont play anywhere near every game and with a manager who he has already been frustrated with?

Its true its only Chelsea United and City purely because of wages. I think the player may fancy United more but the Manager may say anybody but United. If Chelsea are in for him they are probably in the best position as Costa's replacement. But would Sanchez want to play for a London rival with the fans backlash?

Sanchez would definitely beef up our strike force. Sanchez was a better deal than getting Griezmann anyways because he plays in various positions up front. I think Sanchez alone would tip the scales in our favor. As for a CM, it would be good to have one, but Pereira, Carrick, Fellaini, Herrera and Pogba would be just fine.

With that being said, Chelsea would tick all the boxes though,

Chelsea are current Champions, they will definitely be title favorites
Chelsea are looking for a striker to replace Costa
Chelsea offer Champions League
Chelsea offer him the option to remain in London
Chelsea also could offer him hefty wages

With United, he would be fighting with Rashford and Lukaku (upfront) or Rashford, Mhiki, Mata, Lingard and Martial (out wide).

This thread running on absolutely nothing. Not even a gossip column in the Daily Star has mentioned this yet there's been 5 pages in a day. Silly season in full swing. Absolutely nothing to see here.

People are taking inspiration from the Lukaku signing. We werent really linked with him, he was almost a cert for Chelsea, then boom. Sanchez would be perfect for United and he is a hard working, versatile player to suit a Jose team. It's wishful thinking of course but we can hope.

For me it's Mourinho's praise of Wenger that makes this link credible ( plus him slipping in to saw Sanchez instead of Morata).

The link doesn't even exist!

'This link' has been created by desperate Utd fans.

I don't get why there's such an active thread about him? There's no chance he's coming here. We've not even tried for him, Wenger would quit before selling his best player to Jose, and we're after Perisic who occupies pretty much the only position we could accommodate him in.

Okay Sanchez is good , but griezman would be priority signing.

I agree with you right up until the point you mentioned why go for Sanchez when we want Perisic...

Well no, we should absolutely go for Sanchez instead of Perisic, but we're clearly very much after the latter, which tells us that we're not after the former, sadly.

Like we were clearly in for Morata which told us we're not after Lukaku?

I'm not saying we're in for Sanchez, but using media reports as evidence of anything is flawed logic.

Well I hope you're right, but I don't imagine we'd waste our time on Sanchez, as he won't be sold to us. Shame, as he'd be perfect.

And he will be sold to City instead? Unless City bid more than us or Sanchez only wants to go there,no reason why they will not accept a similar bid from us.

Don't think we'll bid as all, but yeah I think Wenger would be happier to sell to City as they're essentially a feeder club for them anyway.

I'd love to think we were in for him, and Mahrez for the other side as he'd be affordable, but I don't think either are happening.

Guardiola admits that he wasted Sanchez's talents in Barcelona but does tha mean that they can never work together again? Mata and Lukaku seem to be OK giving it a go.

Convenient deflection from the fact that City identified and worked on extracting an unhappy, hugely talented player from his current club. The plan may work, maybe not, but to even get to this stage is something of an achievement. Txiki, Pep and co. are getting the job done off the pitch at least. High hopes that they will replicate this when the season starts.

My sauces spice up chicken like you wouldn't believe

And if we were to sign Sanchez we win the league.

True, but at least we look like we've got a squad that can compete for the title at that price. Transfermrkt doesn't even include agent fees either. :annoyed:

Mourinho at United:
17/18 net spend: £94.52m
16/17 net spend: £117.17m

Pep at City:
17/18 net spend: £108.71m
16/17 net spend: £151.0m

Feeling good about this one.

Alexis would go to any of the top six in the PL and wins them the league, okay maybe not the scousers but you get my point
