Alexis Sanchez | Staying at Arsenal after City deal falls apart

The negativity towards Wenger and the club funnels down and he knows (thinks) he's bigger than the club right now. I think his behaviour is a bit poor but at the same time it's a bit inevitable.

That being said, I don't think he'd replicate that behaviour for us as we are are bigger club with a more assertive manager and more assertive players. If he pulled that around Mou/Zlatan etc he'd be put in his place. As such I think we should be in for him big time.

Honestly, I think he has every right to act this way. I fully expect that we will lose him within the next year and that is obviously hugely disappointing, but I hope that we can sign a manager that will take us forward and maybe allow him to reconsider his future here.

If he does leave, fair play to him. He is too good for our team at the moment and is being let down by the fact that our manager has been bypassed in elite level football. Thankfully, I doubt that there is any team in England that could attract him. With United not being the power that they were under Ferguson and Alexis not really playing his best stuff under Guardiola previously.. I can't see anything that would interest him here.

The guy is different class. Sure, he is playing up to the cameras to secure a move to a club that has a bigger chance of allowing him to win the trophies that he deserves. Why not? His commitment and passion on the pitch has never wavered. He is the kind of fella that you imagine would give 100% to anything.. whether he was washing cars for a living or playing football. He takes pride in himself and is a born winner.

I think we can offer him a lot Arsenal cannot get close to....we are still winning trophies even in this transition period. He could replace Rooney and take home 300k a week without many issues. In terms of platforms there aren't any bigger for a player of his type....He'd be working under maureen and with talent around him Arsenal cant really come close to......Pogba, Zlatan, Griezmann :) :)

would be a dream signing but i just cannot see arsenal selling to us after the egg they got on their face with RVP lifting the title the very next season, i genuinely think they'd rather hold him to the contract than sell him our way
looking more and more likely he'll be off in the summer though, bayern would be a good fit imo but will they pay the kind of money he'd want. At his age this is most likely the last big contract he'll get so he'll want to maximise it regardless of chasing trophies. PSG maybe they don't give a toss about financial regs do they

For those, it remains to be seen where they finish at the end of the season cause at the moment I don't see why he'd be tempted by Utd.

He has better chance of winning the Prem and CL with us than with this Arsenal. And better contract as well.

At the moment it is impossible to tell. Arsenal is better ranked than Utd in the league and they always qualify for the CL. Nothing guarantees that Utd will even be in the CL next season

Genuinely believe this will be the year that changes. They are notorious for being bottle jobs but even by those standards this season doesn't seem right for them. Bar the first few weeks of the season they've been poor against the top teams and have been shaky against the weak teams.

If any of the top 6 are to keep faltering I'd put my money on them at this stage tbh, given recent results their confidence must be shot. Wouldn't put it past them to lose to Sutton come the weekend.

If we're talking seriously...liverpool should throw the kitchen sink at him. He's exactly the kind of star forward they need, and his energy and dribbling are perfect for klopp. He can be coached to hold onto the ball less, the important thing is to give him enough touches, and looking at the numbers, he and firmino have had a similar number of touches this season

lolz-

Why on Earth would he leave for a worse side?

If he's on the market & I think he is, we have to be right in for him, he'll immediately elevate the right side of our attack (or replace Ibra), with Martial doing bits on the left & Mkhitaryan running things through the middle. He'll be a game changer.

Honestly and bias aside. Do you think you'd be more tempting to stay at Arsenal or move to United If you'd want trophies in your career?

Alexis would be great here. Just double his wages and he'll come.
If we qualify for the CL, I suspect he would. Next season I expect a proper title challenge, he could be a key part of that.

If we table a fair bid (50m?) and tempt him with wages and he wants to come, do Arsenal accept?

They may not have much option if Alexis wants out and we are offering wages Arsenal could never afford. He's on 140k/wk right now IIRC, so anything in the 250 range would be irresistible for him, especially if the Wenger ship is sinking.

Would love him here but if I was arsenal I wouldn't sell him to us for anything less than €100m.

My only hope is the RVP sale. RVP wanted to come, Wenger really didn't want to sell him to us but the board must have overruled as it was great business.

Same could be said with Sanchez, they paid 35m, 3/4 years service and sell him for 50m is great business on paper.

Their only choice would be to keep him for another season until he's a free agent. I think Wenger would prefer that but can't see the board going for it.

We should definitely sneak something into the press and get Sanchez's attention.

I don't think Wenger would ever sell to Mourinho. That would be the ultimate humiliation. I can see this transfer happening only if Wenger quits.

The issue is there will be a few clubs who will happily pay 50m for him. Bayern, Juve, Chelsea, PSG etc.... And all of them would be in the champions league as well. I don't see this happening tbh.

I agree but as with RVP, he could be overruled.
I'm saying if the board overrules him, he would rather quit. Also, Van Persie didn't want to go anywhere else. Sanchez has already rejected us twice. So it's likely that he'll move to some other club like Juventus, PSG or Bayern.

Any credible source for that?

I agree, that would be the final straw for Wenger I'd guess.

When he was in Udinese, he chose Barcelona over us. It was all over the tabloids. I remember the Sun's quote even now 'Sanchester United'. Nothing credible though. I'm not quite sure about the second one but there were rumours that he chose Arsenal over us because we weren't in the CL.

EDIT: for some reason i can't delete this post. Anyways, too late for the punchline now

DOUBLE EDIT: i'll make something useful of this post: Sanchez is asking for £250k a week, right? Offer him £300k and both juve and bayern munich will be priced out of the race

If Wenger goes and the new manager really wants to keep him then I think he'll get the contract he wants. If Wenger stays then he'll be off for sure.

I doubt the Arsenal one, I think we just fecked up not going in for him.

To have Zlatan, Pogba & Co ask for immediate pay rises, too? What you could pay a single player is one thing, what you'll be willing to offer him without risking to jeopardize your overall wage structure is another.

I'd honestly wait for the season to end cause too much can happen between now and then. Mourinho and our team could have a meltdown and end up finishing 6th or 7th. My point is that we're not in a better situation than them at the moment, how both clubs finish the season will determine who will be more attractive to good players.
I mean Wenger could go, they could bring a good manager and other good players.

Yeah, probably the same reasons Zlatan, Pogba and Mkhi came to United last summer, and why it seems Griezmann is being heavily linked for this summer. When it's not seen as a step down for players guaranteed CL at Juventus, Borussia and Atletico.....it sure as hell ain't one for someone from Arsenal. Despite the CL, and not many are more keen for a CL than Zlatan.

But I tend to agree with those thinking Liverpool is a massively ideal fit though too, it's just a shame Liverpool are another step down from Arsenal in the current climate. A forward diamond of him, Mane, Firmino and Coutinho or something.....though it'd still leave the gaping problems behind it which would still cost them massively anyway.

It's not like we fought other big clubs for Zlatan and Mkhi and we stupidly massively overpaid for Pogba. They will always interest in United by the best players but you can bet your ass that there are more attractive clubs out there for the likes of Sanchez. We are almost reduced to overpaying for players. United's main strength (at the moment at least) is it's financial power so players will always an ear for that but if the footballing side of it doesn't follow then we won't get la crème de la crème.

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree. We've won more trophies than you since Fergie left, have a better team and have finished above you every season.
