Buy as many Sanchez's you want, the reality is, Giroud is still your main striker hahaha.

If this is about Sanchez, then he is without a doubt if given the freedom to perform and not be messi's pet like everyone else at Barca. He'll finally be the proper top class player they've cried out for, a quick, direct player and someone who will get goals and assists. They still need a striker and a defensive midfielder, but getting Sanchez is a huge boost to their attack. Ozil and cazorla are very good players, but you need the directness and cutting edge of someone like Sanchez and they'll be a lot stronger for it.

Edit: actually looking at the other post I'm going to guess it was about koscielny or mertesacker or something.
oh yes, that must be why he misses a dozen sitters a season, he's a pet.

in italy he was electrically direct, but for whatever reason he's been horrendously sloppy any time he's tried to dribble aggressively in spain and it's been nobody's fault but his own.

It would be like saying "buy as many van persies as you want, you still have Anderson ". Not a very worthwhile post, I'm sure you will agree.
Nah. As dire as our midfield is, Anderson isn't quite the best we have. Giroud is the best striker you've got.

EDIT (in light of post below) - Not that I'm defending him. I'm just attacking you, is all.

Not really the point I was making. If he has a comment about Sanchez's ability, that's fine. If he has a comment about how Sanchsz will fit in to a new league or team, that's fine. If he has a comment about how even with Sanchez, Giroud is a weakness that needs to be addresses, well there are better ways to make that point than in a mocking tone with a green smilie.

Who wants to read that? The transfer forum has actually been tolerable thus far and reading posts like those from Malva and BosnianRed is genuinely interesting. The post I quoted was just a total waste of space.

Oh, totally.

It crossed my mind, What on earth is the point in buying Sanchez(For Arsenal) when you have Giroud as your main striker. Not good, especially for a team that should be kicking on and challenging for the league.

That's the one.

They bought Ozil last year and got no striker and ultimately fell short. Getting another undeniably talented player who isn't the goalscorer they need really is likely to make little difference without someone to put the round thingy between the metal sticks.

"We have Sanogo, he will be a top forward in 5-years time!"
Or something like that.

Exactly, If they bought a good striker in January I'm sure they would have won the league. Wdf was Wenger's excuse for not going "all in" during the January market? And then getting Kallstrom on loan?

Sanchez is a goalscorer though, not just there for chance creation.
Not a main man for a title challenging side though, I would think you'd agree? Or, more to the point, not enough of a goalscorer to compensate for the fact that Giroud has been a bit average, so far.

Well for a club that has practically paid of its stadium debts(I think) and has multiple billionaire shareholders, don't you think you lot should be spending big like Real Madrid now? Your revenue streams aren't bad either.

I don't see Sanchez as Giroud's replacement. Just a very good player to complement our wide areas.
One last go, as I think we're pretty much in agreement here, really, and it's hard to keep arguing in such circumstances, however bored you are.

How would you feel if Sanchez was signed and no Giroud replacement? It would be hard not to think the two linked, if that were to come to pass.

Not sure why sanogo gets so much criticism here. He's just lottery ticket that hopefully pays off. We aren't Real Madrid. We can't just buy world class players for every position.
Completely agree, it was more a joke based on the old Wenger's plan that people had fun with earlier.
You can't buy world class players for every position, but it seems to me like Wenger likes to have world class in one position instead of spreading it out.

For example i'd rather have Özil and Cazorla to do the playmaking with a talented kid, and have a world class striker up top than to have another quality option in Sanchez on the line behind the striker. That said buying Sanchez wouldn't necesserily rule out the chances of Arsenal buying a top class striker, left back and defensive midfielder. It's just less likely from us outsiders view.
