Alexis Sanchez | Signed for Arsenal

When he's 34 and on his last legs in football terms that's the time Sanchez would consider Al Ain.

I just knew we were interested.. And I thought Costa was the back-up which could be true too..

IMO.. SAF wanted Sanchez, Costa, Obertan in that order.. Udinese look unlikely to sell thus canceling out Alexis from that list.. Costa being way too expensive and his club were not willing to let him come on trial added with the fact that now he is injured.. Thus us getting Obertan..

But I may be very very wrong as reports claimed that Obertan's fee was agreed around 3 months ago.. or around the time of that U21 match against England..

Brilliant player. Where would he play in our team, on the right wing?
Presumably, but it seems nobody can displace that man.

Alexis is a speedy fecker and if it's true that Moyes is seriously looking into signing him then maybe that says something about the direction he wants to take the team, and where he sees it 2-3 years from now. Alexis would be perfect for a counter-attacking side so perhaps that's the philosophy Moyes wants to employ.

I took this out of the Twitter thread as the title suggested.

Just can't see this happening. He's doing well this season and I can't imagine why they'd want to sell or why he'd want to leave.

He is a Barcelona regular. You can't sign Barcelona regulars these days.

Excellent player though. Sanchezster United

Despite his good form this season he's still never been 'great' for Barcelona and isn't really suited to tiki-taka. I think if there was a Barcelona player we wanted and there was a chance of getting it would be Sanchez. Barca still need a new defender and possibly a goalkeeper (although Valdez has been quite good this season) so they may be tempted by a good offer.

Back when the caf was up in arms about us not trying to sign him and him moving to Barca, I said I didn't think he'd be that much of a revelation there anyway as he wouldn't suit their style. He's had his moments, but on the whole I think I've been proven right.

Them signing and playing Sanchez was part of them coming back down to a 'mortal level' in a sense that he can be dealt with by defenders and he detracts from what was an almost unbeatable style of play.

He'd probably fit in here much better as our style is much more swashbuckling and less technically reliant. I'm still not really sure if I'd bother though for the price it'd inevitability cost. Mind you, I'm always hoping we'll uncover the next great winger, so perhaps I'm setting the bar too high.

As long as Tata Martino is the coach of Barcelona, no way to get him. Alexis is one of his favorite players.

Plus his value will sky rocket after the world cup.

VAN PERSIE? I are you suggesting we sell our main goal scorer for Sanchez?!!

A Eto'o/Zlatan type of deal would be sweet. Even a straight swap would be nice in my opinion. We have Rooney, Welbeck and Chicharito to score the goals... we dont have any Alexis. Plus he is much younger and would kill it in the Premier league. I doubt they would be interested anyway.

Reminds me a bit of Mirallas so I definitely could see Moyes going for him.

uf, just thinking of that strike force...

---------Rooney (Welbeck)-------
Januzaj-----Kagawa------Sanchez

and Phil Jones doing the rest

that would be sweet, but that muppet died long time ago.

Before Tata, I would've agreed that Alexis was attainable but since it's hard to see him out of the lineup nevermind club. There's a chemistry that is starting to really work between him, Leo & Neymar and he's genuinely well liked by his teammates. Despite an unsettled season last year, I have a hard time seeing him moved now.

I thought his biggest weakness after his arrival was confidence and I don't see that being a problem any longer despite a fairly up/down time at the club.

However, Pedro & Tello want more minutes in attack and if Deulofeu is going to be recalled this summer then 1 or 2 will have to be moved

Sanchez would be perfect for us. They like South American's, we should offer Valencia to them.

He has no such autonomy at a club like Barcelona. He will simply be informed of the sale, if that is what the board decide to do. And if they don't win any silverware this season, he should be more concerned about what the board decide to do with him.

Pedro is far more realistic. I highly doubt Barcelona would sell Sanchez especially as he now appears to be a regular and has been in great form this season. I would love him here though.

I don't know which of Pedro and Sanchez is better, they play the same position and can offer you almost the same amount of goals and assists. But I would say Sanchez is a more bullish character on the pitch and will probably take a shorter time to adapt in another league

Either Sanchez or Pedro would be great for us, but let's be honest, we're getting neither.

He didn't impress me at all last season so going off that I wouldn't fancy him here at all. Has he been improved this season? Haven't watched Barca at all this season.

He's a different player this season, for whatever reason. He's now developing into the player people expected him to be when he first signed. 8 goals and 3 assists in 11 league starts so far and he finally looks like he's got a bit of confidence back. He just wouldn't have tried this last year. He would've just ran straight into Marcelo and Varane and lost the ball.

we don't need another Barcelona player pointless pursuit. We're only just getting over the Fabregas one!

Messi Neymar Sanchez Pedro Tello Cuenca

They really do have a talented pool of front 3 players. Pedro scored a hatrick the other day and that was without the likes of Messi and Neymar playing.
The first 4 should not be close to the bench and yet one will always find their ass-cheeks there.

Barca seem to rotate wisely though so I don't see why Sanchez would want to leave. Too bad :( Sanchezter United will remain a dream.

Yeah we'll see what Tata envisions for actual rotation with the front 3 players. First half stats on minutes gives Neymar the most with 1742, Alexis not far behind at 1432, Pedro 1368, an injured Messi only with 1076 yet Tello with 398. If Messi were healthy, he'd easily have the most minutes which would've surely reduced Pedro's minutes by a third. If he was concerned with his minutes recently, imagine what it will look like when Messi is back.

Then there's Tello, I mean someone will not be happy while looking to move this summer as both Pedro & Tello are likely to be the two with the least minutes by the end of the season - barring an injury, of course

The front 3 to start will always have Neymar, Messi & Alexis in the XI - all things being equal. Hopefully, Tata will rotate sooner and keep everyone fresh but he hasn't really done that thus far

I'd be happy if he was our only signing this summer.
