When he went to Chelsea we were.Did they lose out with Mata? Can't imagine they were in for him with Ozil and Cazorla.

They have leverage with Barca, not with Sanchez. For him to be sold his club has to be on board too.
When he went to Chelsea we were.
Yeah, that's the leverage Liverpool has. They have Suarez on a long term contract, Barca want him, so Liverpool are demanding Sanchez as part of the fee, supposedly. But the club seem to want to sell him anyway and supposedly need the cash to do the Suarez deal.
Yeah that's the rumour. Not entirely unbelievable. As I recall Wenger dragged his feet and the reduced buyout clause expired. Or so the papers said.
Heh.
I don't think we're interested in him either(we should be).
Seems he wants to go to Arsenal & enjoy the bright lights of London town.
It's grim up north.
WUMMING?Going to a club in a fashionable part of town which is far more cosmopolitan than Liverpool and generally much better surely must come into his consideration. I can't for the life of me work out why a professional footballer, given the choice, would go up there.

WUMMING?
Maybe, just maybe some people regard London differently to you.
Furthermore, we are talking about signing for a prestigious club who will pay you lots of cash to play football. It's not really a hardship.
I love Liverpool. I also love the Wirral where most of the players live. I just think as a professional footballer who is Chilean, it's more likely he'd prefer London.
God know.
We've got a distinguished track record in not completing all the deals we need to.
That said, I think most top managers have identified that great strikers aren't exactly to be found in abundance at the moment and are identifying different ways to play.
Suarez is, indeed, leverage in all this for Liverpool. Given Liverpool's recent track record with Suarez's attempts to leave I don't see Henry playing nicely on this - and why should he?
While Liverpool may not be Sanchez's number 1 destination it does offer him CL football at a club who finished 2nd last season so their is some currency in the Liverpool option. Added to that may be the behind-the-scenes stuff that may force Sanchez's hand.

Ah well, he doesn't need to speak english fluently here for a while; we prepared David, Mata and Ander for him!!I think the pressure is on Barca to try get Sanchez into the deal, if he rejects Liverpool then they'll prob have to stump up the full £80m buy out clause.
I heard he wants to stay but Bayern or Juventus could prob attract him. Obviously Spanish is his first language but does anyone know if he can speak English?
Unlike Liverpool fans, Sanchez' memory extends past the season just gone. Sanchez wants to make an intelligent decision regarding the future progression of his career, to do this he must look at the club's recent history, a history that extends beyond last season.
Take Luke Shaw, had he looked at just last season then he would be joining a club that finished 7th in the premier league. I'm not so sure why Luke Shaw wants to move to a club that finished one place above his last season, but then unlike Liverpool fans, it could be that his memory is able to process more than one season.

I'll have you know that we now have electricity here in the north. I just hope he likes jellied eels.
Thre Wirral isn't Liverpool, good luck to you saying it is to anyone from there!

Bit of a defensive reaction to what I posted, which was that joining Liverpool is not really a hardship given the fact that CL football exists and they had a strong season last year. I was pointing out that Liverpool's currency is not terrible, which is true.
Secondly, and more importantly, who knows what Sanchez thinks in all this? Either people are on the phone to him or they're mind readers because it seems they know what he's thinking right now.
So Sanchez took the Manchester United supporter's viewpoint that Liverpool's season was just a one-off fluke then ?
is this a serious question? Why would world class player want to join Liverpool?
Why would world class player want to join Liverpool?
You seem to know a lot about what Sanchez thinks.Joining Liverpool is a hardship if they don't repeat this feat, it's understandable he is rumoured to want to join another club because one season does not make Liverpool world beaters therefore there is a genuine risk. Liverpool finishing second last season will probably have as much bearing on his decision as United finishing seventh did for Luke Shaw.
Liverpool's currency is not terrible, I agree with you on this, but then Sanchez does not look for 'not terrible'.
No.
He took the viewpoint there is a club or clubs interested in him where he can achieve more success than he probably would at Liverpool. He wants to make the best choice for his career, despite Liverpool's performance last season, there are other better choices since one season cannot define the ability of a team so one must look a club's recent history and from that predict how they will perform in the coming seasons.
#FC Next SeasonBecause they will be consistently challenging for and winning the premier league in seasons to come whereas Manchester United have been challenging for Europa, as evident by the season just gone.

Yes, it is. If he has to choose between Liverpool, Arsenal or United, I'm positive he wouldn't pick Liverpool.is this a serious question?
