I think there may be some truth in us wanting Robben tbh. If Robben turns us down (which he will), then we'll no doubt turn our attention over to Sanchez. I get the feeling that ship would have sailed by then though.
I get the feeling Robben wouldn't be too against the switch either, except there's no chance in hell that Bayern would let him go IMO.

I can't see it, Van Gaal would be 100% focused on the World Cup.

But that doesn't mean Woodward hasn't been talking to his agent.
I deleted it cause i posted the tweet in the wrong thread

Ideally I'd put Januzaj on the bench as he isn't ready probably to be first choice yet, put Sanchez on the right in his normal position then the left spot is up for grabs. Rooney and Mata can change between each other for that, and I could see it working really well.

Rooney - RVP - Sanchez
Mata
Herrera - Defensive mid
same here.

Sanchez is leverage for Barca in the Suarez deal. That's why Liverpool are a serious contender. Doesn't mean he will definitely decide to come but Liverpool have certain things in their favour.

That Van Gaal tweet should be in here

Assuming Robben is not available, if Van Gaal is looking for someone to replicate the role he's playing in the Dutch side, with pace in behind and the ability to play through the middle in a 2 or out wide in a 3, there aren't many more suited than Sanchez. Cuadrado perhaps.

If it would help them get Suarez I'm sure Barca would prefer him to go to you but it doesn't always work out like that. If Sanchez doesn't want to go to you there's nothing Barca can do.

I doubt we're seriously in for him mind but I also doubt that you lot would be his first choice either.

Alexis is very stubborn though. When he left Udinese he made it clear that he will go only to Barca regardless how much other clubs offer (I think that City was prepared to offer 10m more to Udinese and higher wages to him). If he does want to go to another club (be it us, Arsenal or even Juve) then I think that Barca will have either to keep him or sell to that club, regardless what Liverpool want.

Im just worried we might not get Vidal and Sanchez will move to Juventus to join Vidal there. Come on Woody!

Not quite sure how that's relevant to be honest. He's talking about a World Cup game and Sanchez is Chile's main man. The part about Vidal, however...

Absolutely. Would love if we signed him. I don't necessarily think we'd be favourites, people can underestimate the lure of Arsenal & Liverpool, which are huge clubs etc, along with the fact they can offer Champions League football. Ok, we might only be out for one season, who knows? Also could depend on who Sanchez is friendly with who has played for each manager etc - if someone he knows is one of those who Van Gaal fell out with, that could have an affect too.

All pie in the sky rubbish I'm talking here, we don't even know if we're in for him!

@iBoss - Love the first line!

Well, he plays in Barca where Xavi and Iniesta adores Van Gaal

Liverpool - no chance. Suarez is as good as gone within 12 months max. They need to continue to focus on bagging exciting young prospects. This transfer is above their weight, at least currently.

Arsenal - Solid looking prospects for the team. Lack of ambition is always a reasonable accusation. Good wages. London is a massive pull.

United - Clear favourites if interested. Biggest payday, track - record of being ambitious at the very top. New manager, new signings suggest we'll be right back in the title race this season.

If we're interested, I really can't see anyone beating us to him. What a signing he would be and seemingly at a very reasonable price.

We need this man, another level, easily a top 2 winger in the world. Whoever gets this player is a very, very lucky team. I'd honestly chuck whatever Barca asked for him if I was in charge, he and Vidal would take our team up another level entirely. If we signed either of those two I'd say we would be one of the favourites next season.

He would be a great signing, I'd love him here. If he is available we must surely be in for him.

After this World Cup Barca could very easily chuck a £40m+ price tag on him an clubs like PSG, United, Chelsea, City would be offering ridiculous amounts for him in a bidding war which would help fund the transfer of Suarez (all my opinion). Can't see him going to Liverpool but you can't rule it out (if you do get him I don't see him being used as part of a swap deal though).

He is a United fan

(Yes, I know it means absolutely nothing, Luke Shaw is a prime example but shhh)

He has been great. I don't really get why Barcelona would want or even consider selling him. Very strange. He is easily much better than Tello and the rest. And he is better than Pedro. Basically he is their best winger.

Go all out for both Sanchez and Vidal!!!!! Woodward would be praised as a God

Don't get me wrong, I would love to get him but I struggle to see how we can accommodate Sanchez, Januzaj, RVP, Mata and Rooney in the same starting 11.

Januzaj is only 19. Rvp up top, mata in a midfield trio, Rooney on the left and Sanchez in the right. He fits us perfectly as we're really lacking a winger for the right, especially one like him.

----Sanchez----Mata----Januzaj
------------v.Persie/Rooney

That is the problem we have. We risk losing out on a top player which we need like Sanchez just to try and accommodate a player who I can't see fitting in (Rooney).

Really? When RVP/Rooney are strikers, Mata and Januzaj are CAMs whilst Sanchez has Valencia/Nani to compete with at right wing...

We already have a problem playing Mata, RVP and Rooney together, Sanchez excells playing wide unlike those three.

I'm not a fan of Rooney out wide.

In a perfect world, we sign Vidal Sanchez to go along with Herrera shaw and another CB, move on cleverly nani young fletcher Anderson and much more

Imagine this for a lineup
DDG
Rafeal jones smallen shaw
Vidal Herrera
Sanchez mata janazaj
RVP

Beat that team? But I am being a FM muppet lol

Ya never know.

He's very physical and so dangerous off the ball. You can just tell he will thrive far more in the Premier League than he would in La Liga.

Ya never know.

Not totally out of the possibility, problem? muppet David moyes gives Rooney a new contract, was it a way to try and force RVP out of the club? We got to move players out, but I don't want the club accommodating players like Rooney and welbeck , instead of buying players who fit the position perfect. I actually feel the club should cash in on guys like kagwa , especially we have a better number 10 in mata

We could do with a good clear out and as you said stop accommodating certain players instead of signing what we actually need.

From van Gaal's comments about Sanchez and Vidal before and during the WC I don't think there's any chance we're not even going to attempt to sign then, he seems very set on Vidal but he's quite subtle about it too (very, very hopeful thinking but you know :D)

But imagine that lineup? Gives you goosebumps thinking about it, no more cleverly young fellaini Valencia nani all starting the same team. We made an excellent start to the transfer window, finish it off with a top class wide player CB and a CM player with a clear out, and we are set

It would be awesome. We have to wait and see now. If Chile get knocked out then we might hear more about Vidal and Sanchez in the coming days.

He is playing some of his best since his udinese days. Havent been following his speculation but has there been anything that suggests he or barce want to move?
