It's a shame Chile are still in the WC because we can't announce we've signed this guy tomorrow and complete an awesome hat-trick

Unless of course, Brazil beat them and Woody's there with the contract right after the game

According to Ballague its is officially confirmed Sanchez will leave Barca. Liverpool favs according to him, Woody make it happen please.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if Liverpoo had lined it all up, he had a medical etc then we signed Vidal and stole Sanchez at the last minute!

They've just sign Lallana though, who'd lose their place to accomodate Sanchez? If you assume the front 4 will be Sterling, Coutinho, Lallana and Sturridge.

I'd love this guy, but he's really not a priority signing.

Just shows what having Champions League football does for you.. I mean before last season would you have thought one of the worlds best players would have ended up at Anfield? Personally don't think so. I hope we get in there and offer him double what they can and see what he says.

Carrick
Herrera - Mata
Sanchez - Kagawa
RVP
That looks brilliant to me.

I think he should be No. 1 prio now. A top class wing/forward and available. Nani and Young are trash compared to this guy. If you look at last season, defensively we were similar to the title year before, we just scored like 30 goals less.

Not signing this guy for 30m euros would be insane.

Why are people so happy to have Carrick still a starter for us? I won't be if that is the case,

Depth. Even if Suarez stays we probably need another winger. If he goes, then I would guess Sanchez is viewed as his replacement.

I think they already had one of the world's best in Suarez to be honest. I think they opened a few eyes across Europe with their performances last season too, I remember Guardiola raving about them, maybe Sanchez was watching them too.

Personally I'm confident they won't pull it off, it'll be like Willian, Salah etc, they'll be too slow and Juventus or someone will take him.

Ye I know but I don't want to get too excited and then be left disappointed.

Herrera-Vidal
Sanchez-Mata-Rooney

Oh my

I think it's more due to the fact Barcelona are interested in Suárez and Alexis would be part of the deal.

everyone posting these Rooney less lineups, do you seriously think he won't be a starter next year?

They didn't buy Luis Suarez as one of the worlds best though, they take a lot of credit for helping become what he is.

You don't buy Sanchez for depth, you buy him to start so who do you drop? Out of the 4 you have now it would be Lallana for sure, but then why spend circa £25m on a player who isn't going to play?

It would be Coutinho at the moment. Sterling is 19 though and he'll be inconsistent. Sturridge has injury problems.

For the meantime he's our second best midfielder(with Herrera signed.) so what other choice do we have unless we sign somebody else?

I'm convinced we're going to see a new Rooney under LvG, I may be wrong, but I just think his no nonsense approach will benefit Rooney.

I reckon so too.
When he first asked to leave it would have been a disaster. Now, most fans don't care what happens as long as we get back to winning ways.

It promises to be a million times more exciting a summer and start to the new season than last year.

where do you think he'd go?

Couldn't really care less. Hopefully someone who will pay us a good fee really. I genuinely wouldn't care if he went to Arsenal or Chelsea. So long as we do the transfer business we need to do, Rooney is no Aguero or Suarez that I wouldn't want to see at a rival at all costs. He is of a level that I feel those teams can match or better in the market anyway if they didn't get him.

1 bad season since he arrived. In a season where everyone was rubbish pretty much and our manager was clueless and we had the most boring man alive as a coach. He's got enough credit with me for another season at least.

I think we'll sign another midfielder but hard to say who it'll be, especially after Herrera came out from nowhere.

We've got Sturridge, Suarez, Sterling, Lallana and Coutinho for four positions (and Lambert as backup up top). We'll want a sixth one. Makes perfect sense to buy someone better than our current options.

Whoever performs the worst plays the least. It'd be a great problem to have. One we should look to have, given the number of games we'll play compared to this season.

Arsenal, Juventus and Liverpool seem to be the frontrunners.

The guys who generally know stuff about United haven't clocked onto this one, it just feels like your normal rumours. Though I guess they hadn't picked up on Herrera either.

I don't mind keeping him but he's old now and as a starter every week I wouldn't be as confident.

Looks like Markovic is joining that list. I doubt Sanchez happens unless Suarez goes.

Isn't he 32?
For a club that kept Scholes and Giggs fairly well involved til 38 and 40, 32 is small fry!

I believe he doesn't fit in personally. His status wouldn't allow him to be a sub, and he isn't as good a striker as Persie, nor does he have the pace or guile to be a top class 11 or 10.

I think the ideal thing is for him to leave, with the likely scenario being us playing him anywhere, even if it means bloody right back or something just to have him in the line up. I think it will remain like that so long as he appears in more adverts than the rest of the squad.

I reckon Van Gaal wants to bring Robben here instead. Can't see it happening but I'd be surprised if that wasn't the plan.

we're in pure muppet speculation world at the moment.

Robben, Schweinsteiger, Sanchez, Vidal, Hummels, the links have been mouthwatering.

Personally think we'll do well to get one of those, but we'll see!

Well yes but when a player has a poor season like he did maybe it should be considered his age is a factor in that and it is time to move on.

Do Liverpool seriously think they can get this guy and that City, PSG et al won't be in for him too?

It'll be that or a spectacular bust up I reckon. No middle ground. Hopefully the former.

I think all of Markovic, Sanchez and Shaqiri are being pursued for one slot. Start from the top and work your way down the list till someone signs.

It'd be weird if Sanchez wasn't top.

But I also expect we're softening the ground on all of them.
