Alexis Sanchez | Signed for Arsenal

Class for the second time, if he keeps this form up through the World Cup and ends up being one of the Players of the Tournament, then Barcelona can easily sit back smugly and wait for the £35 million + offers coming in, because he is raising his stock massively right now. Those £20 million estimates thrown around before the WC start were an absolute steal, and one I did not believe for one second in.

Or they may re-think the insane logic in letting him leave in the first place.

United needed Sanchez to have a dire WC to have any chance of signing him, the way he is playing why would Barcelona even consider selling him.

Quality player! but i doubt Woody could pull it off.

Why would we want him after a dire World Cup??

Because we can only sign rejects apparently with no Champions League football to offer. In any case, if Alexis signs a new contract, I'm running off to the Pedro thread.

Nice.

I'd even be happy with:

van Persie
Januzaj -- Mata --Alexis
Vidal -- Strootman
Shaw-- Evans -- Vermaelen -- Rafael
de Gea
I'm getting a bit carried away but I don't think that is too unrealistic. Blind could be very good for us too given that LvG has shown that he knows how to get the best out of him.
Jesus Christ, you'd be happy with that team?!? We'd walk the league with that team! That'd mean Rooney, Carrick, Kagawa, Jones, and Welbeck all available off the bench in a season without any European competition? Some of you are way more optimistic than I am.

The same reason they would sell him after a good season at Barca; because he supposedly doesn't fit in the managers plans for the future.

This is Barcelona the same team that tought it wise to offer Eto'o and 40 million for Ibrahimovic, that didn't into their system and ended up selling him the next year for 20 million. They had one of the best strikers in the world that fitted them like a glove, but they wanted something new and more shinny and paid ETO'O+ 40Million for him. Making more than a 60 million lose on that piece of brilliant business logic.

This is the club that moved heaven and earth to sign Fabregas, and later on also signed Song, whilst not really needing them with Xavi, Ienesta, Alcantara and Busquets in the team. They ruined Thiago Alcantaras playing chances in the team, a player from their academy who was rated as one of the most talented players in the world and was supposed to be Xavi's heir. Then Cesc was his supposed heir, yet neither was ever played over Xavi in his position, Thiago fecked off last year for £20m and Cesc fecked off this year for £27m, just when Xavi is now stepping down and moving to Qatar. Brilliant planning from that team that showcases alot of business logic...

Christ sake, they wasted a small fortune on Neymar, probably paying as much to secure him as Real Madrid paid for Bale. Go even deeper, this a club that has spend fortunes on midfielders and attackers whilst they have the best in the world, constantly neglecting their defence and keepers (even worse than we are with neglecting our midfield). This isn't really a club that runs on logic, this is a club that runs on emotions (just look at the people in charge aswell, with all the corruption and money wasting, do they seem like the most logicaly thinking beinings on earth to you ?).

This club has been up to its 3th new boss since Guardiola left them, everytime the team has been different, everybody rates other players. It is clear the new coach wants a Barcelona with an entire new face, they signed already quite alot of new players and they intened on getting several more. These will cost alot of money, money they have to raise by selling players that aren't needed anymore or aren't rated. Sanchez has never been rated, he has always had the label of glorified sub at Barcelona. He has been lucky he played so much this season because Neymar was injurred for such a long time.

It may not make any sense for a rational thinking person to sell Sanchez, but this Barcelona they never think rational and they never act rational, they act emotionaly and the club doesn't really like/rate Sanchez (even after scoring so many goals). Simply put, logic isn't factor in this and it is very likely he could be on his way out this season.

True, unless a deal is already in place. It won't be, so this won't be happening.

I would love to be proved wrong.

I can easily see Barca selling Sanchez. They reportedly have to raise funds to sign a striker.

erm....because i'd hope our scouts and manager wouldn't judge a player solely on the world cup.

We'll take that some analogy and assume regardless of what type of World Cup he has Barcelona have already decided his future.

Me too mate, fingers crossed Woody can prove us wrong...but i know it's more likely the fool will end up giving Southampton the entire transfer budget for Shaw instead :wenger:

Sorry you misunderstood my point, I was hoping he had a poor WC so that other clubs didn't come in for him. Putting in quality performances will only make it harder for United to win his signature (if United are indeed interested)

Not gonna lie, I would be pretty upset if we miss out on him, he would be just perfect for us. I really hope LVG has him in his plans.

I remember watching him at Udinese when we were linked with him and he was fairly talented with huge potential but he is wasted at Barcelona, I honestly didn't know he had gotten this good! can easily be a star man for a team and is just wasted at Barca.

I reckon hell go to pool over us personallyandwouldnt be so dismissive of them grabbing one or two high calibre players.Moyes really sacked us for a year without cl footie.

May muppetry lies with Robben<hopefully louis willturn his head> and januzaj torturing teams switching left to rightflank wise next year.
Bayern just aren't gonna sell though are they even for 40 million quid so I think muppet fantasies about wingers we have more chance of getting such as Cuadrado, Depay or James Rodriguez are better for your health.....I'm pretty sure Sanchez will end up at Juventus once they've flogged Vidal to Madrid

Van Gaal and van Persie turning his head to start the rebuild at Manchester united?

One can dream.

Arsenal will sign him for around £35m after the World Cup.

If this doesn't happen, temp-ban me a week.

Much like how you lot were nailed on to sign Hazard.
Did that source pull it out of his arse after this match? Or you "knew" about it all this while and were waiting for a more opportune moment to let us poor caftards know.

Don't be daft. He's nowhere near that bracket.
Which bracket? Reus'? I think they are both very close in terms of talent and output. Since Reus seems destined to go to Barca, we would do great to get Sanchez off them. And we could do it relatively cheap.

Swap deal for the confused & hurt striker who going to be sat on the bench next season? 2 birds 1 stone!

They wanted to sell him even after his best season yet with them. I doubt it will change.

Alastair is just quoting their ITK twitter guys. If someone really believes that Wenger blows other clubs out of the water in June they need to have their heads checked.

 just like when Pete said you'd sign Fabregas

Not a surprise that he has cropped up after other retarded Arsenal ITK on twitter have chimed about a deal being close.

Also, if this proves false why not ban him permanently?

Exactly what I am thinking, he has just signed a new contract and is going no where, he will be playing for us next season and people just want to forget that which is ridiculous, I also think LvG will be trying to see if he can fit both Rooney and RvP in the same starting 11, hopefully he can get them complimenting each other, I also think Rooney knows he wont be our sole upfront striker anymore unless RvP is injured.

Banning him permanently? Maybe do it after seeing his aftermath for the fun of it.
