ROONEY----MATA---JANUZAJ

With Kagawa, Nani, Hernandez and welbeck on the bench. Great player but seems like a little bit of an unnecessary signing to me.

Wayne will be confused and angry in that position.Plus, he is not very good there

Then switch Rooney and Mata or replace Rooney with Kagawa
We lack pace on the wings badly. Mata, Rooney and Kagawa playing out wide makes it worse. Januzaj and Alexis flanking Mata would be brilliant. He isn't just a speed merchant either he is an intelligent player with good link-up play and a good at scoring and creating goals.

Not doubting his quality but buying someone to drop Rooney and then leave Kagawa and Nani on the bench seems like a luxury.

People are obsessed with pace again, Januzaj is deceptively quick and Kagawa is no slouch. Athletico Madrid didn't seem to do too badly with their lack of pace. That being said I'd happily welcome him here.

Put Alexis in for Rooney and the team is far better already. Genuine pace and ability to beat a man down the line which Rooney wouldn't provide.

It would only be a luxury if we already had several pacy wide players who score and assist lots. We don't.

Did you read the rest of my post? Like the part where I mentioned pace wasn't his only asset, just one of them?

Rooney and welbeck are strikers, hernandez is a goal poacher and i forgot the last time nani was good on a consistent level

what if Alexis is pushing for the move?

he already fulfilled his father's dream. (for him to Play at Barcelona)

so now its time to fulfill his own dreams, and being forced to Play at the Shadow of Messi probably is not so appealing. Specially when a move to Juventus or us is available, where he would be the star.

pretty sure he will leave... Hopefully to us.

well ill be shocked if he left barcalona this summer, think barcalona are realisng they need other options rather than ticky tacka, and if i was bracalona i would be doing everything i could to keep sanchez as he gives them that option with his pace.

and if barcalona are saying they want to keep you... not many players will leave, messi shadow or not.....

but i suppose stranger things have happened...so i guess it not impossible... and if he comes on the market then yeah great go for it..... but i really hope where not basing are summer transfer policy on trying to poach Barcelona's best players because that can only end badly!

yea nani plays one game class and then disappears. valencia has serious pace though. Valencia has come in for severe criticism. hes not world class, but reliable. If the team plays better he plays better

How does that made my response to your point about lack of pace any less valid? Did you read the rest of mine where I agreed he would be a great signing?

Rooney won't be happy on the left. I think someone like Sanchez would be really useful.

Ideally we need one winger with decent pace and the two we have Young/Valencia aren't up to it. I'd be over the moon if we got this lad, get us back to the exciting counter attacking football again.

I agree. Januzaj on one wing and Sanchez on the other. It would be an exciting forward line.

He would be a fantastic buy for us, I don't think we could get a better attacking addition this window.

Glad that he will never come to United
Why?

I think he is much better option on the wing than most of the players we were linked with, bar Muller but that was never gonna happen of course.

i personly think this is media nonsense... just dont get why they would sell one of thier best players from last season.... just dosn't make sense!
Catalan press have been saying that Barca are doing a mass clearout to raise funds. Fabregas, Pedro, Sanchez and a couple others being offered to other clubs.

I find that express article tough to believe.

Firstly Sanchez when he was at Udinese said we were one of the clubs he wanted to play for.

Also £16m?

A good player, but overrated as price and wage
Are you going to be paying his fee and wages yourself? I can't understand why any fan would want us to miss out on a brilliant player because of those two factors. Besides, all I've read so far is that Barcelona only want around €25m which is a bargain imo, and I bet his wages wouldn't be as much as Ashley Young's.

I'd happily get rid of Young and Nani and sign Alexis.

Barça want 45 million, they paid him 35 from udinese

I would spend 45 million+wage in other way

He's not going for 45m. Barca are trying to sell him, not keep him on the shelf.

The 45m idea was related to speculation that Barca had offered Sanchez + 15m for Vidal, and that Vidal was being rated at 60m.

I'm disappointed if he's not interested in us. If we've made Barca an acceptable offer and we've given Sanchez the best wages offer and he's turned us down then that's a shame - but I don't believe the Italian press (which is where the Express are getting their story) would want to say anything different, and I'm not at all convinced that they actually know.

If United are interested, even if they had permission to speak to the player, it's doubtful it would be happening while he's busy with group games.

Even if he prefers Juve, he'd at least speak to other interested clubs even just to see what he can earn.

I doubt there is anything to this to be honest.

Papers are full of talk that he has rejected our advances as well. Fantastic player and certainly worth trying again after the world cup. I'll be amazed if there's any truth in him preferring Liverpool over us, even with their European football we could easily double their wage offer.

Gazzetta says he wants to go to Juventus, although I suppose an Italian paper would say that. Barca will sell to the highest bidder so if we outbid Juventus (who reportedly offered only 15m Euros) and offer Sanchez a better financial package, I like to think we'd stand a good chance of getting him.

It depends how badly we want him, I mean we can easily outbid Juve and offer him high wages, it's just a matter of how high he is on LVG's list.

Gazzetta and Guardian have said van Gaal wants him so hopefully we put a bid in.

I have a positive feeling that we'll get Sanchez and sell Nani to Juve then.

Can we put Nani's mask on Young and make the swap before Juve notice the difference? :p

The fact that Tuttosport suggest Juve don't want to meet Barça's valuation and we do implies that this could happen because they'd be far more likely to get Nani for cheaper. I just hope we act quickly and decisively.
