I wouldn't read too much into a game against Australia, arguably the worst team in the tournament.
Oi! We are above Spain in our group!
(Until we play the Netherlands)
I wouldn't read too much into a game against Australia, arguably the worst team in the tournament.
He does seem more of a forward to me than a winger, he's hardly ever on the wing!
True but there are very few old fashioned wingers that stick to the touch line. Unfortunately we actually have two of them in Valencia and Young, with Young especially being terrible.
I don't buy into this United must play with width, we need players with pace that can score and operate across the wholes width of pitch like Januzaj can. Sanchez would be perfect, as would Robben and Ribery but no chance with them two.
Imagine having Schweinsteiger and Strootman on midfield with those 4 players you mentioned on attack.imagine having januzaj - mata - sanchez in one team and persie finishing the chances they create for him... sanchez is unique he posses pace and extraordinary teqhnique on the ball whereas his football brain is great as well, he created more than 6 chances last night, can hold up the ball and wait for the support and can go on his own to speed up the attack if needed.. his balance and strenght is fantastic as well. I would take him over reus any day just because hes not classic winger and can be advanced playmaker and can drop deeper to dictate the game and see the final pass, always playing with his head up..
I'd rather Alexis over Robben anyway. If we can't get Robben (which we can't) Sanchez is the next best, most similar thing. Definitely worth a bid. He feels more attainable than a lot of the guys we have been linked to.
Sanchez hasnt just played as a right winger for Barcelona. He's also been used as a forward going beyond Messi up front.
He doesn't keep the ball as well as the other Barcelona players, thats why he doesn't seem too appreciated by Barcelona fans. Other than that he had a good season with plenty of goals and productivity.
I wonder if he'd be more accepted if he scored and assisted (combined) 5 less goals this season and instead had 5% better pass accuracy, lifting him just above Neymar and Pedro and just behind Messi. I suspect he forced play a little too much for their liking and thats where there's a breakdown in the relationship.
I'd rather Alexis over Robben anyway.
I admit Robben was sensational last night but not all of our signings need to be short term stop gaps. He will be 31 next season and I'd rather we strengthened at least for the medium term. Alexis still has his peak years ahead of him and he is a brilliant player who has the ability to really affect games at the highest level. He's exactly what we need in that position imo.Disagree with this, especially how Robben destroyed the supposed world champs last night, but Sanchez would obviously be greatly received.
Its his opinion who he would take.. I would go for sanchez as well as hes more of a playmaker which I like and 4 or 5 years younger so he can still develop into a better player than he currently is which is still top level.. robben is at his 30 at his peak and will only get worse. but what he did yesterday was a joy to watch, what he did throughout his whole career..., he can be cups best player if holland goes far which isnt utopia but I would took Sanchez over him for good reasons I mentioned above..Disagree with this, especially how Robben destroyed the supposed world champs last night, but Sanchez would obviously be greatly received.
Don't get me wrong I would love us to sign him, he would be perfect for our needs.I don't think anyone is making their minds up about him after 1 WC game. Most probably watch him week in week out for Barcelona and he's had a good season and is exactly what we need.
Some of Sanchez's passes last night were brilliant. He looks a lot more creative than I thought he was.
The pass he threaded through for Vargas which was cleared of the line was brilliant. I have heard that Barca are gonna let him leave. It sounds like it is between United, Juventus and Liverpool for him. I hope we are actually in for him.No doubt. Had the same realisation when I started to watch more Chile games - his passing ability is a lot better than it looks at Barcelona, not sure if that's because he is restricted, if it's because he plays wider or because Barcelona get less space, but whatever it is he can definitely pass.
Very versatile player, looks comfortable out wide or centrally and can play deep or as the leading striker. I think if Barcelona let him go they're making a mistake and some club is going to be really lucky.
I'd rather Alexis over Robben anyway.
Sanchez would suit LvG's 4-3-3 system very nicely as an inside forward, if he is available we should do everything possible to get him signed.

Exactly. It was yeah. As was the pass he slipped through to Vargas who was wrongly ruled to be offside.
Pretty gutted, I have a bet on him to get the most assists at 50/1 - could have been nearly won after 1 game last night
Sanchez----Mata------Januzaj
----------Van Persie----------
Could be awesome.
have i missed somthing why would barca sell sanchez after having a really good season for them?
Looks like an awesome line up but there are no guarantees that LVG is gonna rate Mata considering Mourinho learned everything he knows about football from LVG yet didn't rate MataExactly.
That is the exact attacking line up I want to see next season.
i personly think this is media nonsense... just dont get why they would sell one of thier best players from last season.... just dosn't make sense!Enrique wants to free up funds for other targets before this ban kicks in.
According to reports anyway, i agree it's bizarre. 17 goals from wide areas hasn't been seen at United in over half a decade, i'd love him here.

Have been watching him since he was at Udinese. So my assessment is not based on one game.I wouldn't read too much into a game against Australia, arguably the worst team in the tournament.
That's one of the reasons. He's a truly dislikeable cnut and I'd hate to see him playing for us, but there's also the fact that Alexis would represent more than just a short term quick fix.Because of Robben's attitude? Robben is a much better player and far more talented, that goes without saying. But Robben is a cnut and shouldn't be allowed anywhere near this club.

Yup. Barcelona definitely restricts his creativity a lot, he's brilliant for chile. Takes on responsibility as the main man in attack and all with being fantastic on the ball, he's also a very smart passer and a creative one too. Guess training with Xavi, iniesta and co at Barcelona helped with that a lot.I honestly didn't realize he was so creative in attack, I think he would be a much better player given a similar role at United and not the role he has at Barcelona. Brilliant signing even if he costs £30m.
