All this talk of replacing Valencia, I like him and I'd keep him over any of the other options (Young, Nani, Bebe)

Yeah. One of the hard bastard in the team, and can play in right back as well. I also want to see how he perform in not so rigid position, as he does with Equador.

For the Udinese ? i'm not sure because at the time he chose Udinese because they were long time pursuers and had a lot of south american, he wanted to adapt as fast as possible, so chose the latin club.
Probably I had all the details a while ago but I can't remember it all.

They have Champions League football, so there's always a chance for them. They wouldn't have to offer an extortionate transfer fee, if Barcalona's valuation is only 20M either.

They have had CL football for the first time since in half a decade. They have not won their domestic title in nearly 25 years. One season in the CL won't suddenly make them more alluring than us.

I'm not sure players pick clubs on the basis that they've qualified for the CL for the first time in a few years. There are many teams in the CL you wouldn't really want to sign for as a top level player, so I'm not sure how much of a sway it has outside teams that are realistically expected to win or progress far in the competition. Would you sign for a club who has qualified for the first time in a number of years who you think stand a good chance of not progressing beyond the group stages and more than a fair chance (if we consider City, Chelsea, Arsenal and assume United will be back next year) of not qualifying after that - especially if it's a side that hasn't won a domestic title in a quarter of a century?

I'm not saying players won't but I think the 'They've qualified for the CL' element could be vastly over-stated for Liverpool as draw when it comes to competing with others for top players.

Also, the last CL win aside, which I think was probably seen as a bit of an anomaly (see Greece at Euro 2004) are Liverpool a huge draw on the continent these days for them to have a realistic chance of out-bidding/out-appealing the likes of us or Chelsea or even a club based in London for obvious geographical advantages.

Players will move for two reasosn - 1) money and 2) chances of success. I'd suspect they look at the latter long term rather than the upcoming season. Liverpool as an example may attract players in the CL this year - but even ignoring the obvious wage issues, the top players will look at the resources of the club overall and whether the club is likely to be able to compete in the CL regularly.

He's the sort of player that would get us back to playing the 'United way'. A quick, powerful, skillful winger which we haven't had since Nani decided to turn to a bag of shit. We should be going all out for this lad, especially if £20m is enough to do do a deal with Barca.

If he really is available for 20M, I can think of no one better to fill our RW/RF slot, especially for that price.
I hope LVG fancies him.

That's not what I was implying. Someone said he couldn't see Sanchez joining Liverpool, but like us, if Liverpool offered above the valuation that Barcelona have set, so say 25 million euros they'd stand a very good chance of acquiring Sanchez, due to that price being seemingly non-negotiable at Juve. I think we would be a more alluring destination for him, but we've seen how influential the Champions League can be on a players decision and many players look at things from a short-term perspective, so they may opt for Liverpool ahead of us.

If he's going to cost £20-25 million, then that's a steal. Versatile forward, entering the peak of his career and apparently available at a great price. Hopefully this is a rumour that comes true and we get it done quickly.

I'd like to see him as a really hard to get striker. Imagine him, Rooney, and Mata... oh my. Probably the most deadly combination you could find. Them together must be more deadly than Messi.

Any examples which you can refer to where a player chose a club because it had CL football?

Personnally i've never seen a player choose a club because of CL football, but a lot of player have quit a club because of lack of CL football.

With Sanchez, Mata and Januzaj constantly interchanging positions = Sexiness

I'm getting wood thinking about this transfer, destined not to happen.

He'll be focused on the World Cup for the next few weeks, if he impresses then he'll go to a team that's currently better than us.

Even if he doesn't impress he's done enough with Barca this season to show that he belongs in the elite European competition.

I'll be surprise if Liverpool chose to buy him instead of strengthening their defense.

This is a bad argument.

Hopefully the fact that they have Sterling means that they won't be pursuing him.

Hopefully the fact you have Januzaj means the same. ;)

If Sanchez leaves, then it's for more than £20m I would expect.

If there's one thing i'm looking forward to under LVG, it's being a danger from wide areas again. The last few years have been lacklustre to say the least.

The difference is that £20m is a big outlay and a large part of your funds.

This. But he'd need to sign someone not even his magic would work with Young and Valencia.

Januzaj is a no 10, Sterling is a winger, not quite the same :nono: And Sterling style of cutting in, tricky and fast isn't too distant from Sanchez, Januzaj isn't the same player in styles.

I was being slightly facetious. Januzaj will not be a number 10 for youse while Mata and Kagawa are there.

All we heard all season was that we need a bigger squad, yet when we attempt to spend to bring in a player (I'm not talking about only Sanchez here as I doubt we'll get him) the "Liverpool need defenders!" argument gets thrown about.

my interpretation is if news of being a bid made by MUFC is coming from Turin where Juventus is based, they're trying to plant stories to take some attention off them. wouldn' be surprised if they are interested in signing him

to be even more facetious both players can play across the final third. they're not necessarily the same style but they are both flexible in their attacking attributes

 I know exactly what you are saying and I was only saying it light heartedly, and I think t's more the way people word themselves, when they say pool should focus defenders, they should, however it doesn't mean they shouldn't pursue talent such as Sanchéz, merely that it can't detract from the main goal which for you, should be defence, like us CM.

Wasn't the point though mate, the comment was made that because we have a no 10, we won't need a winger, I think it was made tongue in cheek though, I was only playing with him ;)

You'd be daft not to be in for him tbf. Sterling, Sanchez, Sturridge and Suarez is one hell of a front 4. So what if this opportunity presents itself before or after you sign a defender? Your fans are quite rightly expecting you to build on your success this summer with a big name or two.

that said, i want him here so nerrrr. :)

They are, it's no secret.

Juve are in for him. His agent could be planting rumours to push the Juve wages offer up.
