Alexis Sanchez | Done deal

I think it will be done before next match as both players now would want to avoid playing/ staying at home for the deal to be completed. Seeing and feeling some vitrol towards Mkhi, i think Ot might even boo him if he plays and make mistakes. It would be better for both to be in new clubs for next match. Also if raiola is invoved, i expect him to be pushed through, he has many clients here and will use that as a sweetner to push it through. He also will make a commission only if Mkhi moves, no deal means no money for raiola and Raiola Loves money.
Do Arse have any raiola players Besides mkhi ?
I doubt utd would have got 35 mill for mkhi so we've broken even and got a superior player if this happens.

I would hope no fan booed Mkhi as a result of perceived lack of progress in apparent negotiations for a swap deal/transfer.

He's an extremely gifted player who I had high hopes for - my guess is that he'll fit better into a counter attacking team. He'll be good again and we'll wonder why we didn't get the best out of him.

And if we are to progress in the Champions League that's exactly how we'll do it, we certainly won't do it on the front foot, and Mkhitaryan of all the players we've currently got is best suited to playing on the break, I honestly don't think i've ever seen a player like him that runs quicker with the ball than without it.

Yep agree with you. He could indeed turn out to be quite an absentee for us. Definitely more suited to a European game than PL game. Had his moments here though:

Not sure if this has already been posted but Raiola, essentially saying that the chances of the Mkhitaryan deal are low. On Sky sports app - Transfer centre.

MKHI HOLDS THE KEY FOR SANCHEZ

News of a deal for Jose Mourinho comes as Manchester United continue their pursuit of Alexis Sanchez - but it appears that hinges on Henrikh Mkhitaryan joining Arsenal.

Mkhitaryan's agent Mino Raiola claims Sanchez is part of a deal for the Armenian but says the chances of that move are low.

United are willing to pay Sanchez £350,000-a-week and are favourites to sign him after Manchester City withdrew their interest on Monday.

If an agreement can be reached, the deal will be a straight swap with United paying no fee for Sanchez.

As such, Sanchez's future now lies in the hands of Mkhitaryan, but his agent Raiola says a deal is a long way off - and that with two and half years left on his current contract, he doesn't have to leave.

What would the reaction from United fans be if Mkhitaryan turns Arsenal down and the whole deal collapses. Would Mkhitaryan be reviled by large sections of the United support?

I'd be more pissed with the club. If deal wasn't possible with a straight cash offer, you cant really force a player to another club. I'm sure he would get a fair share of boos if this scenario played out but I'm still confident we will get Sanchez regardless.

Based on posts / reactions here he would.

I can understand fans frustration which is primarily fuelled by the desire to land Sanchez, but i feel for Mkhitaryan. Arsenal are by no means a bad club, but it's not where players have gone in the last 10 years to win trophies.

He has a contract with the club, and he has every right to get the best deal he can out of that commitment.

I hope we land Sanchez, and if Mkihitaryan needs to leave for that to happen, I hope he goes. But fans can't simply blame him as they find him out of favour - Same way none of us would have held it against say Martial, we simply laughed that notion away (as the club did) because Martial is held in higher regard by the fans.

Not sure. I could understand United fans being upset, and I can see why Mkhitaryan would turn them down. United fans would be upset because Mkhitaryan isn't currently being used and he would prevent us from getting Sanchez who would be used and could be of help. However it's not exactly his fault. Maybe he wants to try his luck elsewhere and it would be much easier to gain that move if United sell rather than if Arsenal try to sell.

Highly dependant on his performance. If he eclipse Messe lingard performance of last month then all is forgiven

No chance of that happening because of 2 things. He won't be able to do so because he's shit and he won't even be given the opportunity to play, he'll be cast to the reserves.

Doubt it. If he puts his head down and works hard, Jose won't be vindictive. Latter only punishes underperforming players and has no personal grudges.

But seriously, don't you think we approached Sanchez only after consulting with Mkhi and Raiola? So this whole idea of "what if Mkhi turns Arsenal down" seems absurd as it is not likely we just randomly offer Mkhi without prior planning. All the talk is just hot air from Raiola.

If that was possible the transfer would have been done days ago. Everyone is saying Mikhi is an integral part of the deal.

The reactions on here are a lot more restrained than what I've seen on other media. He'd be finished at this club if he causes the Sanchez deal to collapse I'm afraid.

I'm not so sure, if Mkhi purely refuses then they risk losing sanchez for nothing in the summer. They obviously want a good player like Mkhi instead for free which makes sense, but if not 30-35m in Cash will at least pursuade them a bit I feel. They are running out of options.

He is one of the only players in the squad that really has not stepped up his game. Martial has turned a corner this season, Lingard has massively improved under Mourinho, even players like Lindelof are finally catching on. But Mkhitaryan is just not doing it. It is beyond poor how he has been playing this season and if anything it seems he is regressing.

If he feels he is too good to play for Arsenal or he rather stays at a team that doesn't need him anymore and can't give him the playing time a player like him should be looking for because he can earn a bit more money than I find his attitude in this very disappointing.

And I don't think it is fair to hold him responsible for any Sanchez deal but given how this deal has been set up and has been portrayed in the media then obviously people will make a connection between him refusing to leave the club and us missing out on a world class player. It is not fair to blame him for that but people will hold it against him regardless. Unless he would start to actually do something usefull for United like play well and win us some points than people will just view him like a waste of space that has signed for this club to get alot of money without actually earning it and whose decision to stay at United will have cost us a world class player.

I don't think the fans hate Mkhitaryan at the moment, they are just disappointed in his football but if his demands or that of Raiola screw up our Sanchez deal then I do think alot of people will start hating him.

Can we speed this up a little. I have a Kenwood Juicer to win if he signs by tomorrow.

I'm struggling to see why Miki would think Arsenal was a good move for him.

He's got acres on his contract and deserves better than scrambling for 6th place in a poor Arsenal team.

Wenger will waste him, like he has done with so many others. Arsenal is no longer a progressive club you can go to and improve as a player and challenge for big trophies.

If I was Miki, I'd steer well clear.

I can see the appeal of Sanchez coming to us, and think that would be a good signing. A statement signing specifically in the champions league.

Would we be better off wish a cash deal?

I do think money will play a factor and the swap may go through, but these things rarely happen

If the deal was supposedly Riaola's idea some six+ weeks ago, it'd be a bit odd if it turns out Mkhi isn't up for it. Seems unlikely it would get this far into a negotiation if he wasn't, and we'd just have paid the sum required instead.

Think he's just looking after Mkhs reputation.

Why not? Arsenal is the resting place for most of our overrated players from Silvestre to the great Danny Wellback

If the rumours were true(yeah I know)Mkhitaryan had agreed terms and was all set to sign for Arsenal(choosing them over Liverpool)the Summer before last, and it was only United coming in at the eleventh hour that tempted him to come to Old Trafford.

So signing for Arsenal wouldn't be a problem for him, though them having to offer 50% more in wages than they offered him previously because of his wages at Old Trafford might be.

I think all the media talk is bullshit. Everything must be going on pretty smoothly and professionally.
