I'm not at all worried about this, I think it's going to happen no matter what now. But I would really like to get the deal over the line ASAP for the simple fact that we are playing Burnley away on Saturday. Will be a very tough fixture and I'd feel a lot more confident with Sanchez in the squad.

City has pulled out, Chelsea won't even pay Hazard what we're reportedly paying Sanchez. PSG has M'bappe, Neymar and Cavani and doesn't intend to play without a bigger man up top from what we've seen. Real Madrid tend to go for younger superstars that they can have for a while and create a load of buzz about, Sanchez is simply too old for them, and even then they haven't really done many superstar signings lately.
He's already been at Barca and wanted out of there.
Juventus can't compete with our wages.
FC Bayern would be the only ones able to compete and in some need of a new player out wide, although they have Robben, Ribery, James, Müller & Coman with Douglas Costa out on loan. How willing they'd be to jump on Sanchez and compete with us for wages and how willing Sanchez would be to leave the Premier League for a new culture are big question-marks.
As for other English clubs, LFC can't compete with our wages, Tottenham can't, Arsenal he's desperate to leave. Only really City panicking can change as a possible competitor for his signing from my perspective.
Arsenal will be wanting this to go through asap aswell as us. At the moment they can't play Sanchez and against Bournemouth you can see how much they struggled.

People really expect an announcement this late? It's not deadline day. Even if Mkhi has already agreed, there may be paperwork and other arrangement before announcement.

This is very frustrating, usually there are leaks ahead of such signing, a united player leaking some sort of hint or the girlfriend/wife of the player gives a hint.

This post deserves some love but is far too logical to gather much attention from the Red Kermits in this thread. I honestly believe Arsene really wants Mkhi. He’s bang out of form but can be quality when he shows up. The prospect of resurrecting his form probably appeals to Arsene’s ego. Also let’s face it, Arsenal are going to seriously struggle trying to get anyone world class to join. Mkhi may be the best they can get.

Seem like Arsenal wants to downgrade Mikhi's wage (what we're paying him). Raiola is making sure his wage is intact which is around top earner at Arsenal. In case Arsenal can't get this through, they are to pay Alexis wage anyways and then lose him for nothing in the summer. We are also stuck with Mkhi, paying his wage. Therefore, Raiola has some leverage.
Arsenal needs player. 35 mil is hard to buy anyone in winter window. Their situation with Alexis forces them to sell, not like they want to.
I think at some point during this process we couldn’t believe our luck!

I mean he’s losing his best player, if we pay Arsenal a fee he’s not going to see that money again and can’t reinvest on another player. It's not that he is not allowed to use that money we pay, but he's not able to get the quality player since they're more expensive especially in the winter window before WC. If he's restricted to only spend with the fee they receive then you know they would spend all of it on unproven players.
Mkhi has been bad recently, but on his best day, he has quality of 50+mil player in this market. It's still gamble but it's less risky considering Mkhi proved he can get to that level in right environment, unlike unproven players who we can only estimate their ceiling.

That really leaves the following options...
1) Mkhi accepts Arse offer
2) United subsidise Mkhi to go to Arse
3) United find another buyer for Mkhi
4) United stump up now and sell later
I think the debate is between 1 and 2 and all involved know that is the case. Mkhi won’t have other options at the right sale price who can pay enough in wages so same issue there. A compromise of some form is what Arse will want but United will say it’s this or nothing in the summer and you don’t get a £40m player in exchange.
It’s surely imminent given timing in the season. Can’t be good to drag on much longer for all involved.
Mino Raiola is a smart, tough agent, if I were a professional football player, I would want him to be my agent. He has the balls to ask Arsenal to pay Mikhi the same salary they were offering to pay Alexis. I know he won’t get it, but he will get as high a salary as possible for Miki. Mino has the smarts to know when he is on a position of power/leverage, and the balls to pressure these big clubs to go to their limit.
And that's the one that makes me desperate to get it across the line...
They've been gazumped, which however it's spun is still slightly humiliating for them, they loathe us, they've got loads of cash, and they do need another striker.

Up until 2011 i use to watch Arsenal (if i have nothing else on) because of the football they produced (would never have admitted it at the time though
), after that i slowly started getting more and more bored by them to the point i avoid them alltogether now bar Chelsea clashes or big games. For me, Arsenal's reputation of great football is based on the past, just like whats left of Wenger's reputation is.- Status
