Alexis Sanchez | Done deal

I feel bad for Miki although I tend to feel bad for people. Wasn't meant to be I guess.
yeah it’s hard when you get attached to players but let’s be honest he’s not doing the business. Jose has never really fancied him and if it means we get Sanchez then fantastic. I just hope we are cut throat with then other wasters like Darmian.

What a unique situation this is, can’t think of another quite like it. Those expecting fans not to be frustrated with Mhkitaryan if he is making a fuss are living in a dreamland.

We're the NBA now.

This means nothing. When Raiola involved then things will not be easy finished in couple of days, IMO can't see this go through soon.
I think it's in the best interest of all parties involved if the transfer is finished up quickly.
  • Arsenal need the player replacement for Sanchez badly as they are in very poor form;
  • We would like to start integrating the Chilean into the squad and training process as soon as possible;
  • Sanchez probably can't wait leaving Arsenal and just start playing football with passion again;
  • Mikhitaryan and Raiola wouldn't want to drag this for long as the player hasn't played much recently anyways, so needs to start getting that match sharpness and fitness as soon as possible for Arsenal, whilst the agent definitely wouldn't want to piss off one of his biggest business relations, which is exactly what Manchester United as a club are to him.
Hopefully we get the announcement tomorrow.

Feck Raiola for allowing this to drag on. Sanchez and his agent sorted their side out ages ago and now he's messing around trying to extract every little penny he can.
Rail might be a bit of a hard ass, but when the tension around this saga mounts and Micky realises he's not got much of a career here under Jose, he will shit it and cave to the transfer. If he's anything like he is on the pitch compared to off the pitch I mean!

What I loved about Van Persie was that he had the same arrogance as us to boil the piss of Arsenal fans.

I’ve never seen that before :lol:

This could take a while. Raiola wants the best for his client and doesn't give in easily. Can't see this being done before the end of the week unless Arsenal give in.

Let's not forget how he is.

I thought even we were better than that, to be honest :lol:

Yeah, he should roll over, accept being a makeweight and move to Arsenal, not quibble over his terms and accept whatever's on the table so that a club he won't be playing for anymore can get the transfer over the line early.

After all, we're showing him the same kind of loyalty.

To be honest this all just smacks of journos having to fill column inches by spinning roadblocks. I can't see any chance of us having gazumped City so publicly and confidently, only to have everything reliant on a trade involving Mino Raiola. It's probably our preferred deal, but we'll pay up if we have to. Arsenal aren't going to turn down £35m for someone that'll be gone for free in six months, replacement or not.

No special preferance for Miki but I did expect more from him. The level he's played at this season isn't acceptable.

I see what you are trying to say but there is 19 days between the tweets.

imo we should move Mkhitaryan in a separate deal - no need for Raiola involved at the moment. Lets get our man in first.

Give Arsenal the cash for Sanchez and get it done! Move Mkhitaryan later.

It’s been fairly well rumoured that Arsenal aren’t letting Sanchez go without a replacement. It would appear that Mkhi is the replacement, so no Mkhi = no Sanchez.

It’ll happen though, it’s just the agent doing his job.

I feel really bad for Mkhi to be honest. He had a massive influence on us actually being in the CL this season and he just hasn’t kicked on like we’d hoped. No reason for so many ‘supporters’ to turn on him though; he needs to look after himself too...

It’s not like Arsenal will be offering him a bad deal and I’m sure we could smooth over any difference in cost without a problem. My point was IF he is making a fuss, I actually don’t think he will be. If he is though, why? Have profressional pride and go somewhere where you’ll play and show Jose he’s wrong? Why be awkward, stay at a club and never play.

cba to listen. who is it, supposedly?

He's "hearing" there "may" be another "massive club" lurking waiting to see how events develop. Doesn't mention whom.

"Looks like Manchester United are favorites, BUT...for now."

^finishes with that. He's talking conjecture and nonsense.

Wouldn't be surprised if Balague is calling clubs trying to convince them to buy Alexis. What's his beef with us? I can't work out if he's trolling or is genuinely very bitter.

He'll look great at Arsenal. All flighty attackers do.

They all look great for about 70% of the season, as an ensemble cast, slaying teams and we'll wonder why he never played that well here.

20% of the time they are bang average and results are a coin flip.

Then you have the 10% of the time where all of their lovely attacking players turn to sh1t, look at each other and none of them have the gumption to fix it so they get booed off the pitch.

He is a super talented player. I really like him. But he hasn't performed well enough here unfortunately.

Pretty much what will happen. And even that is the best case scenario. If he has a good game people will watch on MOTD and say wow why did we let him go but the difference being that tdon'tdont see the rest of his abject performances week in week out when he was at United.

He might just not want a move to Arsenal. He might be aware of interest from other clubs. I don't know, like the rest of us I can only speculate - but he's entitled to his reasons.

We want him out, but we agreed to a contract and there's two and a half years left on it, so he's entitled to go after the best deal possible with that ace up his sleeve.

Some of the stuff I've read today directed at him has been pure vitriol, like he's duty bound to, to his own detrement, act in the best interests of a club that's forcing him out the door.

It's not even got to do with proving Jose wrong. He's a good player, everyone knows that, Jose does too or he would have never signed him. Some players just don't cut it at some teams, that's what happened. You had more than enough chances but couldn't establish yourself, go somewhere where your football will be better suited and have a fresh start.

Absolutely spot on. There's plan A, B and C. This is going to happen....

It does concern me that the longer it rumbles on we'll lose momentum - after all, that's exactly what happened to Citeh with Sanchez.

If there's a chance of getting Sanchez, just do whatever necessary and get it done.

If Mkhi doesn't wanna go, use cash and then get rid of Mkhi asap.

Just get it over the line before someone else steps in and momentum is lost.

On the subject of Balague, i'll always remember an episode of revista de la liga where he flat out said Torres would be moving to United from Atletico. He's full of complete shit and it was as true then as it is now.

It will be bittersweet for me if Sanchez arriving means Mkhi leaving. I was so psyched to have him join us, but feel we have continually used him in a suboptimal manner. Still hope he stays.

Good old Balague playing it coy for some reason in not naming this lurking club.
Thats what he's all about, sitting on internet breaking information on a podcast from a tv company that pays him for breaking news such as this.
Remember to be vague and never commit Ballbag.

What am I missing? How does that toerag Raiola hold all the cards here? A straight Mikhi swap would be lovely but if he, or rather his agent, is jeopardizing the whole deal with outrageous and totally unwarranted wage demands, why the bejaysus are Arsenal or ourselves not just telling him to stick it and proceeding woth a straight cash transaction? This is not Pogba, for crying out loud. His client here is a guy who can't get a game, is low on confidence and out of favour. I don't get it.

These things take time, though. Days, weeks, whatever.

It's clearly not losing momentum. The players agent is talking about it as recently as today, and our manager is talking about it publicly too.

Can we just ignore Ballbag now? He's just seeking attention, just don't give it to him.

Honestly, Ballague should be banned on this forum. He's more often than not a WUM or just downright wrong.
