Definitely think he'll be gone in the summer if his form continues in this vein, maybe even January if we can get the right deal. Either that or we have to change the way we set up to give him a different role.

It's getting to the point where it's just hugely disrespectful to the rest of the players to play him and pay him the supposed salary he's on.

I think he's doing ok but we could get Danny Welbeck or Clev back and they'd do "ok". We need more from him, but I dont know if it will come, the warning signs were there in the last 6 months at Arsenal, his stats were decent but had clearly dropped off, it was said he was just unmotivated with it being clear he wanted to leave but he's managed to come here and look even worse. He's obviously not going to be sold in January or anything so we'll see whats what in the summer, hopefully he turns it on. Would be massively helpful if the old Alexis appeared again.

Our only hope of getting out of this hole is probably if China comes calling for him in January.

No chance anyone else will be willing to offer him half the wages he's on.

Looked good and got regularly involved in pre season as a striker. The issue is out of Lukaku, Martial, Rashford and him they all look better as a striker.

I think we should put him on the right and let him roam from there.

Not overly worried yet. Assumed he would perform better than he has, but there's still a long way to go until he's anywhere near being a disaster. Not entirely sure he's suited to the way we aim to play, reckon he'd be a beast at a club with more movement and always available options, at United we're asking far too many players to pull off something amazing in order to create chances.

He's awful isn't he. He's essentially anonymous in every single game, and I see no signs of improvement. We've been well and truly had here, it was a dreadful move by the club and one that is going to cost us big time until he leaves. Great bloke, used to be a fantastic player but he's done.

For someone anonymous he had a goal disallowed, created chances and got into good positions

For me he’s been an incredible disappointment. He hasn’t shown his pace, trickery or aggression from his younger years.

Hugely disappointing up to now, I keep willing him on and hoping it will click but it just isn't happening for him at the moment.

He's just shite, isn't he?

I'd give him til January then try cut our losses. Either hope and pray some Chinese club comes in and pays mega money for him or allow him to leave on a free. Allowing him leave for free isn't exactly madness. We'd save 72m on wages if he's on the rumored 350k a week.

He's nowhere near where he was at Arsenal. There's only so many times you can say he works hard before you look a little bit deeper at the situation. For a player of his calibre and hype, it's just simply not good enough. Feck knows what has happened to him, but his performances are not good enough.

Very, very frustrating to watch.

Agreed.

Seems a toss of the coin when we think of south american players succeeding at Man Utd or England for most part

Ok players

Tevez
Heinze

Not ok players

Di maria
Falcao
Kleberson
Sanchez

They appear to have difficulty adjusting to the environment.

Sanchez has been disappointing here but overall in England he has been a big success.

The only place he deserves to be is on the bench

Who do you pick instead of Sanchez who is already on the bench?

Imo he needs to be through the middle as a second striker or up top (which won't be the case as that's lukaku)

He's trying to hard to be something he's not from the left

Keep seeing it that way, man. It'll make it easier to stomach I suppose.

Stomach what ? It's not like I'm pretending that he's pulling up trees and showing individual brilliance, but he's still one of our most heavily involved players when it comes creating goalscoring chances.

He doesn’t look good most of the time, but I’m pretty sure he’s created the most chances from our players so far. Make of that what you want. The Leicester game is the perfect example, I thought he was awful, read that he created four (4!) big chances. I couldn’t believe it, so I had to check back:lol:

I really don’t understand the negativity towards Sanchez. The guy puts in a shift most of the time & definitely more than others. Today he was on par & the likes of Lukaku couldn’t even read his play! Some of the 2nd balls didn’t even reach him. The guy is always trying to do something but the only downside is he does give the ball away a lot for a player of his quality. At this moment in time I believe we need to have him in the team.

His creativity is bizzarely underrated in this thread.
Replacing him with any player in our squad will make us worse, there's a reason he starts every game.
He wasn't fit when we played Brighton and it was our most passive match this season as far as attacking is concerned.

Publicity signing. Woodward saw an opportunity to publicly get one over on City and Jose said "yeah why not,he's great".
The only thing that makes sense, but surely Mourinho wouldn't play him in this form and certainly wouldn't be happy being told to play him.

We should stick him RW now anyway and get Rashford on the LW. Sanchez can get away with 5/10 performances there as there are few options, not so on the left.

In fairness i was listening to Liam Brady recently on a podcast and he made the point that he was always like that at Arsenal, in that he would lose the ball or give it away too often. But at Arsenal, the media only focused on the good aspects of his game. At united, it is different.

He did lose the ball often but he was taking more risks, scoring goals and adding assists far more frequently. Now you get to see the floated ball towards the forward every now and then but nothing else. Hard to believe he was in conversations about being the best player in the league along with Hazard, De Bruyne and Silva.

Ridiculous exaggeration. He was hardly anonymous last game against Burnley. I agree that he's been underwhelming signing, but he's had his moments.

When? I can think of his goal against Spurs in the semi final last season, that's it. Don't think he should be written off yet, but he's been a bad signing so far.

Don't think he was bad today - just quiet.

He's certainly not worth the big money so far though - can't deny that.

I really can't understand all the dripping about Sanchez

Ok, he isn't scoring goals, but his movement and passing is making the difference. Cracking player that can still find another level

I'd actually like to see him one day play as a CM - even if not that I think considering the age, the type of player etc that he thinks about changing position. These things - the earlier the better so you build some experience.

Looked to have physically declined in his last few months at Arsenal. Sort of like the Torres situation.

He just split up with his wife, it wasn’t bitter breakup so I’m guessing it’s hard on him as he still loves her.
