Alexandre Lacazette

I just watched this video, not bad but so odd that you posted it given it should surely be clear to you that his game is based on having lots of quick movement to link with, yet you are happy for us to pay £57M for a player and then basically ask him to play with a barely mobile partner, it's ludicrous, he could work fine with Martial and Rashford, maybe we could add another dynamic attacker as well and really put together a quick, dynamic unit to unsettle teams.

I think he could work in either situation. His movement and pace are pretty good and would compliment any of Ibra or Rashford.

You probably have watched Dembele about 5 times in your life, you cannot spell Griezmann properly, Mbappe is a good shout, you cannot spell Alli and Spurs won't bother with us because they can afford not to and Bale is a permacrock. Congratulations.

I'm typing quickly on a phone, not spell checking every name and accent. The fact you think bale is a crock and you base someones football knowledge on spelling tells me all I need to know.

You sure about that ?

Not sure what formation and style Lyon play because I haven't seen them even once this season, but in this clip Lacazette was seen coming deep and drifting out wide far too much for my liking. By the looks of it, he likes to get involved in the game a lot. We need a striker who plays on the shoulder of the last man, someone who is making runs near post, far post, coming back out to the pen spot for a pull back. Not sure if that's his style of play.
Not saying he's not a good player mind.

I do rate Morata and Lukaku above him, especially the latter. Morata is more proven as well

I rate Lacazette above them both. He's more technical than Lukaku and more composed than Morata. Morata has played at two very dominant teams, don't forget, we're yet to see if Lacazette will go up a level playing with better players etc.

Performed for multiple clubs, was excellent in CL for Juve. Lacazette has only done well in League 1 and EL I think.

But, Morata just hit double digit goals in the league for the first time in his career. I would take Lacazette's 3 20 goal seasons over that.

Different players. Belotti is more physical and will score more dodgy goals, whereas Lacazette is very technical for a striker, more composed.

From what I saw with my novice eyes, I agree with you. I will be over the moon with either one.

Morata played half the games though. 15 goals in 14 La Liga apps is still very good.

You still have to consider league competitiveness and other factors that don't come up in the stats. However Lacazette should be considered a real option if the club is looking for a no.9

He's one of those players where you just know that moving to a bigger league won't faze him much, in fact he will probably thrive on it. I was secretly hoping he didn't go to Liverpool a year or two ago.

Great numbers for the past three years.

my concern is that le'quipe is being le'quipe and they are rushing to fill names after the transfer ban debacle. Le'quipe can rush to conclusions more than say a Di Marzio or Simon Stone but new news might be good news.

If he is now a genuine target, we should embrace this move.

Personally, I'd prefer Lacazette to Morata or Belotti - would prefer Lukaku though (simply because he's proven in the Premier League)

IMO, we should be looking at both. I don't get the belotti or Morata rumours. It should be Lukaku and/or Lacazette.

Will he bring anything different than we already got, I mean Rashford, who seems to be maturing with the age. Lacazette could get us goals (by looking at his stats) but how good his work rate away from ball?

i'd rather bring in a finisher like lacazette and make rashford the work horse behind him.

His off ball movement is fantastic.

While i think Perisic is too expensive, i kind of like the prospect of an out-and-out winger delivering to a player like lacazette.

Maybe. I just like Morata's all round game a bit better and I think he would work better than Lacazette as a lone striker in the PL. Then again Lacazette is definitely more clinical and converting chances seems to be our biggest issue so I'm not sure.

I like Morata's game a lot too, but I feel he needs to play with wingers or wide forwards that will contribute goals, whereas Lacazette strikes me as a more natural goalscorer.

I remember he just came back from a very serious injury this season, yes? Will that be a major concern in the future? Don't mind him if he costs around 30-35 million or something

Morata has agreed personal terms with AC milan. I hope we are not in for Belotti, Lukaku and/or Lacazette would be our best options.

He is someone mourinho would not want. it will be desperate times if we sign him. Good player no doubut does he fit a mourinho system? I do not think so.

out of the rumoured no.9 targets, who is a "Mourinho player"?

I'd take this guy all day before Lukaku or Greizmann.

1. He would cost a fraction of what the other two cost and will get you 20+ goals a season. 2. Griezmann is not a natural No.9, he is better as a No.10 and we have 4/5 players who can play there. It would be another case of buying players for positions we already have covered.

Let's start making smart signings that can fit straight into positions we need covered rather than show biz signings who we will spend the next 6 months trying to figure out where to play them.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if we buy Lacazette first then buy Griezmann shortly thereafter. If it were the other way around and we broke the transfer record on Griezmann, then Lyon would absolutely fleece us on Lacazette. This might explain the media leak that we are no longer after Griezmann.

I wish I could agree with you but Griezmann's post killed all hope for me.

Let's see what happens in the coming days.

I recently read that last summer when things looked like we would sign Pogba - that the deal was actually done before Paul flew to the US, in fact the Stormzy video had already been filmed by then.

Who says he won't play right inside forward and we're not still in for a number 9?

He was part of the reason we were so crap in attack, our entire system was geared to playing to a big striker who barely moves and plays for himself, it's why we are so easy to park the bus against, we need to improve the sum of the parts as a unit, not hang around for a 36 year old coming off a serious injury, it's stupid and backwards.

Odd statement.... contributed alot to genetal play. Dropping deep.

The rest of what you write is pretty accurate though. We need a new striker no question.

Not going to lie, as soon as I saw that we were linked with Lacazette, what you said was my first thought. Atletico wanted Griezmann as the replacement too, I reckon we might of looked at it like "Atletico have a great history with strikers, why not sign both" type thing. Would be unreal for us, I just don't think we have heard the end of Griezmann yet.
