Wow. Let's hope he doesn't read the CAF and assume our fans are all spastics who turn into shriveling vaginas when a rival player gets injured but get personal with insults on a player who has the audacity to sign for us.

He looks like a thug and an imbecile.

Who the feck promoted you?

Hehehehehehehehehehehe

Like it.

Buttner must be that bit further ahead in his development than Fabio.

As I know nothing about Alexander Buttner, I'm going to set my base expectations at being able to pass the ball 10-15 yards to his left-winger and to be roughly in our defensive third of the pitch when we're under attack. If it transpires he has a thwacking 30-yard strike on him a la Riise or Irwin, all the better.

The thing is that Fabio can cover both flanks; he doesn't need to look on Buttner as a massive threat to his long-term future at utd.

I don't think anyone's realised. He looks like some kind of neo-nazi, punk, Liverpool type signing.

Anyway, we've pretty much got our left back cover for the season then. I haven't seen what he's capable of yet but I hope he's a good all round defender. Some attacking prowess would be a nice bonus as well.

I'd say his penis when errect is at least 6 inches.

I meant Buttner is ready to be the back-up left back right now, perhaps Fabio isn't. So I agree, it's not necessarily a comment on Fab's long-term future.

If he's signing to be purely a backup LB then it doesn't say much for his ambition.I'd say he or any other player would want to make the position their own.As for Fabio he needs to settle into his position at QPR and not worry about Utd for the rest of the season then we'll see

Lindegaard didnt sign to be a backup either. I'm sure Buttner will be hoping to end up being first name on the team sheet

Precisely.I want players chomping at the bit to be first choice and be disappointed when they're not.Competition for places should be intense at a club like Utd

The main question SAF was asking himself when signing this lad was: Can he do it on a cold night at Stoke?

From the looks of him, I believe he can and I think SAF does too.

Me: We bought a new talent from the Netherlands today
Wife: Is he a handsome guy?
Me: He is ambitious, has pace and is reported to have a good left foot
Wife: Does he have tattoos, piercings or any celebrity characteristics?
Me: Playing for United is his dream come true

Wife: let me watch Dr. Phil!

Me (thinking): That's probably a good idea

Done deal as he's completed medical:

Am I the only one who sees a bit of Paul Bettany in him?

I honestly wouldn't mind one bit if he gets a game against Fulham. Even though Evra has had worse performances than last night, he was still incredibly below par. His decision making is absolutely shocking at times, and sometimes he plays as if he has all the time in the world.

Of course, I doubt we'll throw him in instantly - but I hope Fergie actually gives this guy a chance if Evra is having consistent nightmares.

You really think Evra performed poorly yesterday? I think he did very decent, which is why Everton hardly did anything from their right wing all day.

When defending, he did average at best. Coleman made mince-meat out of him a couple of times, and he had positioning lapses a few times but luckily nothing came from it.

He wasn't fantastic by any stretch when we had the ball either, which should be his strongest point. His passing was slack, and he kept running into players.

As I said, he's had much worst performances - but I just hope Fergie will drop him a few times this season if he's below par. We couldn't do that in past seasons, but now we have a rather enthusiastic cover for him, we should use him.

I also thought Evra was fine last night - given the state of our injuries in the back-line then I'm not sure I'd want us to throw in a new player days after joining, starting over arguably our most experienced fit defender.

I'm clearly in the minority, so I've probably been to harsh on Evra. Still, my point stands that if Evra does have those nightmare performances this season, we should drop him now we have that option.
