To the tune of Milky Bar Kid

IT'S THE TRAILER-CAMP KID.
IT'S THE TRAILER-CAMP KID.
IT'S THE TRAILER-CAMP KID.
The trailer-camp kid is strong and Dutch.
Only the best is good enough.

He was already on the Dutch shortlist for the Euro's so he's virtually nailed on to become a full international. I'm not buying the theory that Fabio went on loan because we had Baines lined up, Fabio needed the experience of playing regularly, this guy already has it. Fergie will use him to rest Evra, as well as the bonus of putting some pressure on Evra

All good news imho

He's basically there for cover. It is important to have good squad players who can provide cover and put in decent performances when required, not everyone is going to be a Kagawa/ RVP megastar signing. I wouldnt be suprised if he could cover a few positions as sir Alex is well know to like versatile squad players.

So he is a more advanced richie de laet by the sounds of it?

Jesus. Don't give up the day job mate.

Hair, dress style.

Fair enough.

Apparently this is him arriving at the famous Bridgewater hospital

I was thinking about the inflated price, too.
We want to sign someone, so the selling club automatically raise the blinds?

The fee for Buttner was decided by an independent tribunal not by the selling club, presumably.

Control, alt + De Laet was only here to sell shirts in Belgium right?

Urmm..

Does anyone else really want to punch him in the face already?

No I like him, Bendtner mark 2.

Is this the last piece of the jigsaw or did we finish one and start another...seriously United first watched him 1 month ago according to VA....is that what our scouting policy is now ..still beats getting Bebe of a bloody video... From Doetinchem...got me looking at Google Earth....welcome AB joining RVP after RVN and VDS.....

How would you know that United only started watching him a month ago?

Just wanted to ask though, whatever happened to Martin Vermijl? The young Belgium full back we signed 2/3 seasons ago.

He's still here. He even played a few games during our pre-season tour. A regular for the reserves/U21's.

How is he progressing? Is he promising? Or will he not make it here?

He seems alright. Difficult for him to make it here when Rafael seems to be our future. He may potentially be a cover for him in a few years time, but it's likely he'll go down the route of going on loan, and then eventually securing a deal somewhere.

Saying that, he's still young - so who knows.

Yeah, I'm about 99.999% sure that's a huge load of balls, so: Source..?

Why wasnt he allowed to train?

He wanted a transfer, Southampton nearly got him, but Vitesse and Buttner did not reach an agreement on how the transfer fee of 4,5 million euros should be divided between them.

Southampton got frustrated and pulled out of the deal and Vitesse then went on to let him train with the reserves. Buttner did not like that and sued them... he lost the case.

That's when we first expressed our interest in him, via email, say's the player.

That I read but who says we've only watched him for a month?

The media usually wheel out there local league experts for a scouting report don't they? Or is he that unknown?

Hope he is a decent player, doesn't have to be a worldbeater... just good enough as a cover for Evra and not drop too many bollocks and he will have been worth it.

In a few years we can assess whether Fabio (or him) are good enough to replace Evra as first choice leftback or whether we have to splash the cash. So all's fine... unless he's as rubbish as some of my friends in Arnhem (probably bitter) are claiming.

The De Laet comparison is incredibly weird, De Laet had barely made a dozen first team appearances for Wrexham and Antwerp when we picked him up. Incidentally, is anyone amused at the thought of how much everyone in here would be monging out if this singing had come before Van Persie shut the muppets up?
