Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain completes his transfer to Liverpool

Really, genuinely surprised that big clubs are in for him. His Arse career should surely be viewed as a failure?

And that's not down to Wenger, because the same couldn't be said for Sanchez, RvP, or even Cech.

As mental as it sounds, I honestly think part of his popularity is because he's got a cool nickname - like that Hulk chap.

There are too many people who base their opinions on players without looking at anything else. I think that's the case with the Ox here, his stats are terrible I think he only scored twice or something last season but I can't think of many attack minded players Klopp has failed to improve in his time at Dortmund and Liverpool so despite the price I'm all for it.

;)

 it's not even that cool of a name. Its convenient. I'll look like a tit if i type 'Alex' I mean I'm not his babe ffs and I'm certainly not spelling that surname of his. So Ox it is.

'The Ox' is what you said, and lets admit it - 'The Ox' is a fecking cool nickname, it's a better nickname than he is a player (as with Hulk).

It'd be quicker to write AOC which is nowhere near as cool as doesn't make it as easy to pretend you're not signing an Arsenal nearly-man, rather than a superhero called 'The Ox'!

If my nickname, oxtail chamberpot, had caught on, he'd probably be signing for Burton Albion this week.

Doesn't make much difference mate, my nickname of Giro Exchanger never caught on but he still looks set to sign for Liverpool.

Or simply "Ox".

I really don't see why big clubs are in for him. A signing I'd be happy enough with Liverpool making. I'm sure he'll be OK there, maybe 6/10, but he's not going to pull up trees. Keita bothered me, VVD would, this doesn't.

Yeah VVD's a good one for them. PL proven, has the look of a bigger team player (though might still find it more tricky at Liverpool than at Saints).

Also, I feel it will be necessary to refer to VVD as 'The Dyke' should he sign for Liverpool, hopefully many will join me.

I don't know if VVD is class, to me he looks like he might be, but he could also just be 7/10. It's more that no matter how average he is he'd improve their defense hugely because it's so shit.

If he wants to leave then imo better for Liverpool than Chelsea, because Liverpool won't win the EPL anyway.

Ox's agency just posted this.

Thats great "blank" news :)

They deleted the post. Luckily I took a screenshot as the window was still open.

Meh, not worried about that. Overrated.

Not a player that I would have chosen at the start of the window but he wants to play for us and will add some much needed depth to our midfield.
Looking forward to seeing what Kopp can do with him

Good signing but a bit 'meh' amidst all the Lemar rumours tbh. Now a centre back should be the #1 priority.
I feel the same. It's not an exciting signing but adds another option I guess. I'm assuming Klopp will play him in one of the three midfield positions.

Only hope I have is none of the three muskteers have shut the deal for Lemar down yet.

40m for Ox is a ridiculous deal. Holy shit. Same price as Matic. Less than Salah. Jesus.

It's been that sort of window. Fees are all over the place at the minute. Remember when £35-£40 million got you a world class player like Sanchez?

Yup. Neymar deal has really fecked up the market.

I honestly don't know what you mean. You think he should be more or less than Matic and more or less then Sarah? I don't see how the 2 go together. Ridiculous means too much? So you think he should not be the same price as Matic? He should be less? But you seem surprised he's less than Salah? So you think he should be more? I'm confused as Hell!

I think the price is stupid for a player like him who's in his last year of contract.

Edit: I meant more than Salah, my bad.
