Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain completes his transfer to Liverpool

He's definitely not Jose player. He lacks the physicality to play in a midfield two, which is what we're opting for lately (against the lesser teams). When we face the tougher sides, Herrera or Fellaini will slot in beside Matic/Pogba. Chamberlain would be redundant in our side.
Umm i never said he would be good for us.

Just that for £40m Liverpool could have brought Matic

If he would do well in midfield then it will have to be in Klopps system than anything else.

Less time to think for him in that fast pressing system might be good for him and he will get space to run.

No way Matic would have gone to Liverpool though. They have Keita arriving next summer, so Chamberlain as a stopgap, or for squad depth (can cover numerous positions), makes a lot of sense for them imo.

Not sure what Liverpool fans should be worried about more: the fact the club just paid £40million for him, or the fact he'll be playing CM for them

Good player, but spending £35m on a player that they don't need is a bit mental. Unless The Teeth reverts them to a 5-2-2-1?

Forger the fee. Another good signing for Liverpool. People laughing at this will end up with egg on their face.

Thats pretty awful for Liverpool... He will be used in the starting 11, CM position. :wenger:

He's very average going forward, which makes it even weirder considering Liverpool actually have very good options in the areas he plays in.

Young version of Milner. Isn't the fee a bit expensive?

Better him than Lemar.

He's a bit of a nothing player who is more suited to flying down the right wing with his pace and power but for a CM position he clearly lacks the IQ and technique.

Even if that's true he did it playing on the wing, while he's going to play for them in CM position.
He's going to play where he can. He's rejected being a wingback.

He could easily play the position Can plays in for example and do very well. I hope I'm wrong but I see him doing very well.

I clicked twice, so he can make enough money to get his teeth fixed.

Btw can we get a report that Kroenke will use the money to buy a beachhouse in Hawaii, otherwise this would feel like a win for Arsenal.

Will be playing RB in no time. Not good enough in CM.

Awful. So much for an underwhelming player who is somewhat injury prone and with only a year left on the contract.

I think he's a good player, very decent signing for Liverpool.

There signings have been annoyingly good.

An excellent signing for the scouse provided he stays fit. An upgrade on a young Milner with potential for much growth and it will be very interesting to see whether Klopp can develop him into playing in that mid-3 or wide of a front 3.

A useful player who will fit Klopp's plans well and probably signals Coutinho is on his way to Barca. Remember even Fergie feels Klopp will bring them close to a title. As hilarious as they've been and probably will be the scouse are building a good squad.

Their achilles heel is that gaping chasm between attacking prowess and the shambles that passes for their defence. This is where our laughter should be directed. That and Firminho's punchable face.

Him wanting to play as a CM doesn't mean he's a sure success there, though.
I think he'll be more of a 'first player into the starting XI when someone is out'. He'll be in a good position to learn the ropes.

Decent move to Liverpool, really. Young, English, experience at top, Champions League level, buying from direct rival. He's gone for footballing reasons. Niggling arguments as to whether he's worth every penny of the £40m aside, it's a state of Arsenal's decline that it can't keep players like him.

Ox is fit, fast and technically skilful - but he lacks composure going forward and has a worrying tendency to screw up the final ball or pass.

That said, he could be developed under Klopp and Liverpool might have a player on their hands, alongside Keita next season.

If you're Sanchez and Ozil and you've just seem a poorer player than you leave the club because he wants to be successful....Jesus Christ.

Hopefully he'll be a squad player, first used in our CL matches against CSKA and Maribor.
