Not at the moment, no, he doesn't lack workrate but his positioning is sometimes questionable. With time — hopefully. Can he play in a two man midfield?

Bit similar too Eriksen, maybe?
Well that just isn’t true. And I didn’t even watch today’s game. But I’ve seen Golovin before and he certainly isn’t a work horse as opposed to technical. He played United twice last year for a start and showed plenty of ability.
Yeah, it's only a matter of time before he makes the transition á la Modric, D.Silva, Isco, in my opinion. If he joins a bigger club in one of the top leagues, he can adjust to that level by playing out wide/in a 3 like the aforementioned players, and once settled I think he could become a great CM. I think his passing is a bit hit and miss but the technique and ideas behind his passes are there so hopefully, in time, he becomes more consistent in that department. Not at the moment, no, he doesn't lack workrate but his positioning is sometimes questionable. Based on this game, you'd think Cherykov was a great player, and we know he just isn't, couldn't even get consistent game time last season. Saudi Arabia were woeful.
Don't get too carried away with Golovin, he's more work horse than a technical creative player.
Sounds like he's moving to Juve.
Wondered why Jancker got a random mention until I saw your 'supports' tag.Guys, he played well against Saudis. The way players are hyped up during world cups sometimes really is ridiculous. This is the team that made Jancker look like a world beater a few years back.

Don't Russian players have a very hard time adapting to life outside of Russia? That may be a generalisation of sorts but there aren't many that have been successful outside of the Motherland. When we were linked to him originally it was what £20m? That'd be a safe investment if Jose fancies him.

I'm not basing anything on that game, though. I've said for months what a top talent he is, and had him down as my breakthrough star of this tournament.Guys, he played well against Saudis. This, 1000 times. Let's see how he performs if the next 2 games. This was the easiest game they could have started with of all the teams involved in the World CupGuys, he played well against Saudis. Indeed
Carl Frampton said last night, if you're gran had Saudi ancestry and could do 15 keepy uppies, she'd get in that side!
They are camel shit

Fair enough!A lot of people are though. Or rather, taking this as a confirmation for what others have said beforehand. Honestly, the only times I saw him this season, he looked pretty average. (Very good) Eurocup level player for the likes of Stuttgart, Everton etc.
Possibly the worst team on this competition, still have to see if Panama is worse. It was so weird seeing them, like something out of the early 90‘s when it comes to Asian sides. Unfit, slow, most of them sporting a belly...my local 4th league team is in WAY better shape.

Do you think Lingard could play a similar role like Golovin?

I think Savic would cost more than 70m. Lazio is asking crazy money for him.I think with Fred already signed, we won't spend too much on a second midfielder if we was to sign one. Would love Milinkovic-Savic but doubt that will happen!
Would be a brilliant buy if we get him for around the 25m mark which has been quoted in the media, not sure how much his value would have rocketed by the end of the World Cup, but surely it won't have gone up by anymore than £35m-£40m? That's more than HALF of what Savic would go for!
Only just turned 22 and wouldn't expect to start every game, whereas a signing like Savic would expect to start. Midfield options of Pogba, Fred, Golovin, Matic, Herrera and potentially Fosu-Mensah (if he gets a look-in) would be quality! Even with injuries and/or suspensions we should be well stocked over the course of the season. No one would get complacent as they know if their form drops then we have options to replace them.
Carrick and Fellaini out and McTominay out on loan. Fred and Golovin in and Fosu-Mensah back from loan - can be our versatile option who can also play at RB and CB.
I am happy with that
