Alejandro Garnacho (out) | Chelsea make enquiries

"Already done a lot in this league"

It's interesting that most of those who are bothered by this potential sale can't honestly say that they think he's a good football player.
Few are at the required level aged 20. He has his faults but he’s also shown some great things at such a young age. Gone appear to be the days when we give youngsters time. He’s a kid. He shouldn’t be starting so frequently for such a high profile dysfunctional side. In an ideal world he’s rotated in and out with more experienced players and the team doesn’t shit the bed on a weekly basis.

Wheeler saying United will take £60 + add ons from chelsea
Good fecking grief. How is there not a Premier League/rival tax here?

We gave them £60 million for that waster, Mount, with a year left on his contract. Now we'll accept £60 million for a young talented winger with 3 or 4 year left on his deal.

The same winger is 4 years younger than Mudryk who they paid £80-100 million for and Garnacho already has more goals and assists than him in his career.

What is this club doing?

I think in terms of when they broke into the scene

Adnan had the best overall package, then Rashford, and finally Garnacho. Garnacho though has the best goal threat out of the three, he seems like he's actually really hungry to score every time.
Which leads him to take stupid shots and not play as a team member.

But but 60 million plus add ons…

Nani is one of the mot overrated players of all time for United.

Even Rashford was handsdown better.

Nani playing upfront with Hojlund instead of rooney would have been hilarious to watch

A purple patch of one season masked by playing as a squad player in arguably one of the two best United teams of all time.

If we set our expectations after two of the dumbest deals in recent memory, we won’t make many sales.

Mount being a terrible buy at 60m, doesn’t mean Garnacho is a terrible sale at the same price.

It's irrelevant from each other, but you still can't ignore those numbers. Mudryk, a lesser known winger from the Ukraine for 89m (incl. addons) and Mount for 60m, while we gave them Sancho for cheap and now these greedy feckers want to hijack Garnacho, but only willing to pay 59m. It's unacceptable.

I would keep him and use a front 3 of him Zirkzee and Amad.

We shouldn't sell our best youngsters. We're Utd; not Chelsea/City.

The season is a write off anyway. Get the wingback and striker in the summer.

We must sell In order to bring 2-3 players. Given that nobody wants Casemiro, Rashford, Eriksen, Lindelof and the list goes on, he is the one player that can fetch a good amount.

United does not have the luxury to sell a player over the odds. It's common knowledge that we dont have the money for the players we want, and we can not be stubborn with the price. He is a player that does not start under Amorim, has had a few off the pitch moments with 2 coaches so far, and we desperately need players for other positions. Yeah, we can be stubborn and demand 80m pounds and nobody is willing to pay that, however, if he stays, we have holes all over the team, a player that openly said that he wouldn't mind leaving and a player that does not fit into the coaches philosophy.

I rather we get 3 more players in, sell him 10m pounds less, and start implementing those players until the summer.

Then United are stupid, Chelsea paid far more than that for Mudryk who had achieved a lot less in a weaker league. 100M should be the bare minimum we take from that mob.

So next time we want to buy a player do we go back to how much we paid for Antony and then make sure we offer an additional 20m to be consistent?

I mean what the actually feck is going on with this club at the minute? Selling Garnacho? let alone selling him to Chelsea? Its feels like we’re hitting rock bottom right now, the negativity is awful.

PSR, redundancies, selling some of our most promising players.

I just don’t know what to make of all this bollocks to be honest.

Why couldn’t that Arab fella been real and not just an AI creation to make us all think Ratcliffe was a good idea

I'd be genuinely curious what attributes you think he has exhibited that make him a player that we should be worried about losing?

Adds nothing to the discussion
He had less output, at least as inconsistent, but he was more technical - on the other hand, he was slower, weaker, worse workrate, less intensity to his game etc. So overall, he was indeed not a better player.
:nono:

Yeah, but those deals say nothing about Garnacho’s actual market value. Do you think the club is going to go: “Look, we overpaid for Mount, so you gotta cut us some slack here”? It doesn’t work like that. Look at each deal individually - does it enable us to move forward?

You can reasonably argue that 60m isn’t enough for Garnacho, but it has nothing to do with the Mount or Mudryk transfers.

I’d ask two things. 1) Would you be thrilled to buy Garnacho for 60m, if the clubs were reversed? 2) What are Chelsea fans thinking of this?

I generally think selling him could be the right move, but to sell him to a direct competitor in England for a discount is mind-bogglingly stupid. The quoted amounts are half what they spent on Moises Caicedo, FFS. Either they pay up in line with what they've spent on lesser players (Mudryk, et al) or they can do one.

I don't feel Garnacho is as great as people think. He obviously has huge potential but we do need wing backs for the system.

I'd rather it be Garnacho than Mainoo
