Alejandro Garnacho (out) | Chelsea make enquiries

If we don't sign players and sell Garnacho it's a big problem.

If we sign players because we sold Garnacho it's worth it. The system doesn't suit him, and we need the funds to buy players who actually do.

This system relies heavily on wingbacks.

Bit of an overreaction no?
How or why are you still pretending to be shocked and surprised at people not wanting to sell a talented youngster to Chelsea? You might not rate him, I don’t think he’s kicked on as much as I’d have hoped, and he doesn’t fit in this formation, but it seems really disingenuous to act like you don’t see other peoples perspective, the reasoning is obvious.

I honestly think the club has its doubts about him beyond how he will fit into Amorim’s system.

Firstly I wonder if he’s long been judged to have a questionable attitude. There’s been a handful of things made public, under both ten Hag and more recently with Amorim. The matters have been resolved but how many have not been made public?

Secondly, I’m not convinced he sees us as a long term option for him. We could tie him down with a fat contract but if we have doubts over his attitude do we want another Rashford scenario? If we are going to sell him in the future, why wait until he holds the power, it’s a good move to sell him now on our terms if that is the case.

It’s speculation and hypothetical so don’t come at me with all the character defence and all that. I just think this goes beyond us needing to raise cash, I think the club is selling because it’s the right time for the club.
I'd agree if Kobbie Mainoo wasn't also publicly for sale.

We paid them £55m or whatever for Mason Mount, so return that twice and maybe it’s worth pondering.

I’m annoyed these rumours are not going away. It’s a huge realisation that United as we knew it is finished.

Heads should roll for even considering it. This is the final nail in the coffin for this club as a major player in football.
Don’t be silly. We need money. We take it from whoever gives us the most.
He could have come out and said I don’t want to leave but he’s agreed terms with both Napoli and Chelsea

Describing it as 'vile' is a bit over the top.

The people rejoicing must know something I don’t know about our ability to replace him in the week or so left of the window.

We’re so light upfront that we needed reinforcements anyway, and now it is an absolute necessity if Rashford, Garnacho, and Antony leaves.

Even if you believe they’re all crap, we’re short on bodies. Is the plan to play Bruno and Amad into the ground, and keep rotating Zirkzee and Hojlund upfront and pray that something works out?

We need him out due to the financial situation so can't demand an outrageous fee.

70 million euros (£59 million) is a fair price.

It’s hard to stomach for me, but then I’d feel the same if it was Rashford. I don’t like seeing our former youngsters at rival teams.

I just hope we get a proper big wedge for him.
Chelsea fans don't even want/rate him.

If we're selling him to Chelsea, we have to at least get more than the 55 million we ludicrously paid for Mount, but maybe that says more about us than them...

Make it £75m for Garnacho to Chelsea, and they can have Mount added in.

Chelsea fans don't even want/rate him.
I really just don’t see what the need for him is. Haven’t been this baffled by a transfer target in a long while and we’ve had some strange ones.

We best get two very good signings as a result of us, we are fecking desperate for an attacker

Bit of an overreaction no?
Not really. I know he has his faults but he's 20 years old and has already done a lot in this league in a largely dysfunctional side. He was top 3 for Golden Boy right? Too see him potentially flourishing at Chelsea for years would be a bit sickening. You know the media would mention it every chance they got too.

Chelsea do seem to just buy players because they can. How they operate is just grim and weird.

Yep, just throwing shit at a wall until it sticks.

Still think they lucked out with Palmer, I refuse to believe they knew he could be thsat good for them.

If he ends up staying after next week, I hope that we'll see the £70m+ worthy performances more often so many seem to believe he's destined for.

I have pity for the younger fans of the club who haven't actually seen us with high standards.

I remember when Nani joined us at 20, with twice the ability of a Garnacho, and he used to be dragged left and right for not being good enough. That was when people still relied on their eyes ahead of stats on paper when judging/rating players.

I've enjoyed watching him deliver memorable moments for us in his short time at the club but I also believe that his sale wouldn't mark the apolocalypse at the club and that we'll be just fine without him so long as INEOS have ambition.

Do we need to sell him or are we selling him because he's not that good? He was apparently untouchable in the summer, not available for sale at any price. Fast forward a few months and all of a sudden he's actually for sale. What has happened in that space of time?
What has happened is Amorim.

To be honest, I've been feeling this ever since we sold Welbeck, Evans and Rafael and bought Di Maria, Schweinsteiger and Falcao.

Ole brought back the old United feeling, for a while. Pity it didn't work out on the pitch.
Now we are selling our absolute best talents Garnacho and Mainoo to bring in the likes of Patrick Dorgu.

"Already done a lot in this league"

It's interesting that most of those who are bothered by this potential sale can't honestly say that they think he's a good football player.

How I feel as well.

Selling Garnacho to Chelsea would just be the City boys repeating with us what they did with Cole Palmer at their last jobs. Would not shock me in the slightest if Garnacho starts February at Stamford Bridge.

Remember when the biggest issues we had was that Nani keeps trying to beat his man (successfully), Valencias crosses are too hard and Carrick passes sideways and backwards too much?

Or just simply say how they think he’ll turn into a world beater. It’s just references to the Puskas (lol), some big moments, pure G/A without context, or the Golden Boy voting.

Like I’d be far more panicked about losing him if there was obvious year over year improvement as he’s gotten older, but I watch him and genuinely think he’s less dangerous now than he was as the bleached hair 18 year old
