Alejandro Garnacho (out) | Chelsea make enquiries

Can't wait for this to be one of those 'wow, remember Jan 25 when we were considering selling Garnacho? What a wild month.' moments.

He's staying hopefully for a long time, and will remain in our top 3 most productive players.

Will be nervous until that window closes

Even though he purportedly does not suit Amorim's system, he's still one of our better attackers when he plays. And he's only 20 so one would expect him to improve. Would sooner allow Antony, Mount, Hojlund, Zirkzee or Rashford to leave.

Firstly, no-one wants those players. Secondly, Garnacho is home grown, so from an accounting perspective, he would be far more valuable to sell than any of those bar Rashford. Garnacho alone would pretty much fund our spending this summer.

I agree. But he’s the only one that’s worth selling and teams are interested. We ain’t getting any buyers for them other players.

I'm sceptical he was ever really for sale in the first place.

Sends a message to the squad that no one is indispensable and you have to earn the right to be at the club, academy graduate or otherwise.

Also sends a message that we won't falter in negotiations, and will walk away if we don't get our price.

It's win win. Start a conversation about selling and intentionally price ourselves out of a move.

Everyone in the squad is for sale pretty much with a few exceptions and I don't believe he's one of them.

To Be honest he is not even very good, if he is to be in the teams 3 most productive players then the club is truly in trouble. Bruno and Amad are the two most productive currently, and all it takes is for Amorim to sign Gyokores in the summer and that is the top 3 for productivity.

Isn't this tapping up?
How can clubs be speaking to a player on the phone and it be ok?
Tapping up hasn’t been a thing for like 20 years. Agents are free to talk to clubs and just happen to know what their players want.

A CEO talking directly to a player about a transfer would still be against the rules but nobody does because they don’t need to.

There was news circulating that Conte himself rang the player.
Not sure how true it is.

I presumed that the parent club had to give permission unless the contract was almost up?

Tapping up is so 2000s. They're all at it nowadays

@Top_Bins is right, it does sound like tapping up and it also makes no difference whether they go directly to a player or a representative.

It's just that clubs don't care about tapping up anymore as there seems to be an unspoken agreement that the positives outweigh the negatives on a whole

None of those have any selling value. He's not really better than some of those players you mentioned.
