Against Southampton, we should play Amad at RWB with Garnacho as one of the two behind the striker.
Amorim took his ego down and let him know he needs to be a more team player if he wishes to be a success in his system. No more main character syndrome and this is best for him as he will improve his all around game, instead of what eth was letting him do and get away with without any accountability or risk of being dropped. Credit to Garnacho he's taken it on the chin got his head down and worked on his game. This is what proper man management reap
Agree with this. He's been great when not just chucked on in a hopeless situation like he was against Bournemouth and Newcastle.

I'm all for having players to suit a system but you need players that can offer something for different when needed. Garnacho is still young enough to adapt aswell.

He's better on this side because it's less tempting for him to shoot if driving infield on his right foot - he's got a decent left foot as well but maybe this is how you force him to pass more like for Bruno's goal. It's a nice problem to have with him vs amad for that role and them being able to play elsewhere, Garnacho I feel can also help whoever is the 9 a lot with running beyond them which doesn't really happen a lot.

I wouldn't want to sell him if it's only asset stripping, but to be honest I would consider it due to him not celebrating a goal, because he felt he wasn't being respected enough, apparently. That tells me all I'd need to know about his mentality.

I agree and I also think it's something we need. Dalot is quite a willing runner but hasn't got the pace over that distance. I think this is especially important if Zirkzee is going to start getting more minutes which feels likely.

The fact that he has gotten his head down and begun adapting to a new position at the age of 20, instead of sulking about the new manager's treatment of him, after getting filmed being insulted by some dickhead YouTuber, should tell you more about his mentality than a decision to not celebrate as exuberantly as you'd like.

It's a nice problem for Ruben to have for sure. I guess if you are critical of Garnacho, maybe if that's Dalot the cross doesn't come in for their equaliser but he's not done badly, he's stayed with the runner.

He's a young man scoring for one of the greatest clubs in the World - he should be exuberant, but to not celebrate at all? Again, why should any professional footballer be upset or even care about a You Tuber, especially when there are 70,000 fans inside the stadium to support you? - respect the fans and the club first. And what treatment by Amorim would be reason to sulk? How is not sulking such a good indicator of his mentality? Getting your head down and not sulking is the minimum expected, why is that so great. What treatment by Amorim are you referring to that Garnacho might have had reason to sulk about?

Don’t mind him as the right sided 10, but obviously Amad is better there too.

More to do with the fact he is less likely to cut inside and shoot which is probably where people found themselves frustrated after his goal scoring flurry early in the season.

I'm still a little surprised he hasn't been given some minutes at LWB to be honest... considering Amad immediately was tried out on the other side and Garnacho - whilst maybe not as intelligent a player - is at least more physical I think it's fair to say in terms of his motor, intensity and pace. You'd think he could potentially do a similar job.

He's arguably not a great fit for the AM role, so why not have a look at him at wing-back seeing as you are crying out for long-term solutions there at the moment?

Just a far better player when he plays from the right than when he plays from the left.
He's a strange one in that he seems to go through periods where he's much better on one side, then a while later he'll go through a period where he's much better on the other side.

He was poor for the first half of last season while playing on the left, then literally the first match he was played on the right he burst into life and then continued being better on the right for the rest of the season (he did have a couple of good games on the left as well, but most of the time his performances dropped quite a lot). Then this season under ETH he really struggled on the right and was much better on the left. We'll see if this is the start of his performances turning around again, and if so whether there will be a notable difference based on which side he's on.

I was inside the stadium when Garnacho scored vs Leicester and I can confirm that I didn't feel disrespected by his lack of celebration. Players can celebrate however they like. Rooney was visibly angry right after some of his most memorable goals.

I am referring to him and Rashford getting dropped from the squad for the City game. We don't know the exact circumstances around it but he's obviously reacted well to it when compared to Rashford.

He only turned 20 in July, he is a world class talent although not good enough to be starting week in week out for Man United as of yet. That will come in another couple of years. Amad is exactly two years older than him. Garnacho is one of the top prospects in Europe and should be doing everything we can to keep him. He's getting a lot of criticism but not his fault he's been thrown in the deep end and can see why he's a bit upset. Not many 20 year olds can do what he can do. Hopefully Amorim will get him to keep his head down and continue working hard as the potential is there. Amad is 22 and exactly two years older than Garnacho and showing all the commitment and determination a Man United player should have. Lets not forget Amad was on loan in the championship last season and look at him now. Truely believe Garnacho is a world class talent that needs to be nurtured in the right way and doesn't get too big for his boots. Happens a lot with young players and hopefully has good people around him.

It's not just about you though, Bruno pushed him to celebrate so he must have felt a celebration was in order. It's not just about the celebration it's what it might say about his mentality. He's reacted better than Rashford for sure, but its just a 20 year old being left out of one squad. We don't know what's behind it exactly, but Amorim said it's the same as Rashford. No reason not to believe him, so I'm sure it was merited. Which is another negative indication to me. I'm not saying I actively want to sell him, but there is enough there that there is a question mark over him for me.

Couldn't care less if he stays or leaves, he is a decent player with decent potential who can be an assist to the club but this idea that if he leaves then we're missing out on some newgen R7 makes me laugh. He's got far too many limitations to his game for any logical person to lose sleep over him leaving.
