No because he’s our highest goal scorer this season with a lot of potential. Amorim needs to find a role for Garnacho, Amad and Hojlund in the first 11.

If Garnacho is mediocrity what do you think about the rest of the team?
I think majority of our attack is mediocre including him. And during this evaluation period I don’t think he should just be nailed down to start. That’s all.

Obviously he’s still going to play a feck load for us this year, but I don’t think his overall current ability is worthy of just sticking with him through every bad game as a starter.

Needs more composure in front of goal and to stop going for the top. He gets in some great positions but his touch or shot lets him down.

If he goes through a spell of no goals or assists I agree, but equally the other players need to be doing a lot more to take his spot,

I think he has lost his way a little bit. When he broke through, he would take on his man constantly and beat him with skill, will and pace (although he isn’t rapid by any means). I don’t remember the last time he did that. His finishing and ability to set up his teammates also seem to have dropped off a cliff.

Sure. My initial point was just that I just want to see multiple different combos of 10’s and wingbacks these first couple of months to see who fits best where in this system and who isn’t good enough ultimately, because I think we need at least 2 upgrades to our attacking options this summer.

Yeah, he does always seem to try for the top corner you’re right.

Lad is still young and if he can really work on some of the negative aspects of his game, combined with the determination he shows, he will be a fantastic player for us.

He's good but why does he always leans back when he shoots? If he just gets over the ball, hit it lower and harder, he'd be flying. He's frustrating but far from our biggest problem, he's doing ok

No issue with that as long as we can agree Anthony is never going to be good enough!

He's very frustrating but he's a young winger. They're always frustrating.

The problem is we score so few goals that we're relying on him too much. If we had more goals in the team it wouldn't be such an issue having him miss chances.

He's so dangerous but so wasteful. I'm sure the latter will improve with time, we need to keep investing in him. Someone needs to work with him on composure in front of goal I think.

Just a kid developing his game at the biggest club in the world…ain’t easy by any means.

Plus everyone knows who he is now and what his strengths and weaknesses are. Typically it’s harder in the second season after breaking into the team.

But he must be the top scorer at the club(?) so it’s says a lot about where everyone else is currently too.

But recently he has been trying to pass/create more in the final third. Not exactly excelling yet but he has plenty of time to improve.

It's mad how many chances he either makes or is on the end of. His anticipation in the box is very good and he's a relentless runner on the counter.
If it clicks for him infront of goal, you're talking comfortably 10, 15 goals or more a season. If it clicks.

His finishing is poor and decision making even worse but i think that he had pretty good game. Guy dribbles, shoots, runs, plays defence....our main attacking threat. He should continue on this position.

He's been the only light in the darkness of the last 12 months pretty much.

He's still only 20? I'd say get off his back and let him improve.

He was awful. Missed two big chances and didn't complete a single cross. Dribbling, shooting, running are things you'd expect a winger in the championship to do.

I think he's been very frustrating lately, but the bigger issue is that he's playing more than he should because we should have a mainstay in his position.

He's shown he has talent, but more than that he is hardworking and supremely confident. In 5 years he'll be 25 and he'll be absolutely quality.

Could be wrong, but it does seem like that with a lot of his misses. Just fecking get it target from there and stop trying to score the perfect goal.

Just relieved he can actually be coached now by someone who knows what they are doing.

We wasted the likes of rashford and martial under poor coaches. It’s exciting to think about this new generation getting the coaching and direction they deserve.

Sigh, whats happened to him?
Same as Rashford. Development stagnanted but people ignored the signs because he’s scoring goals. In a year or two, that’ll stop too but the club would have already given him a contract which makes moving him on impossible.

I still think he has hope, but he needs to be benched every time he takes a stupid shot over passing to his teammate who’s in a better position.

Fecking hell, talk about exaggeration.
He's only 20! He's doing fine.

Arguably the best centre forward in Europe atm has only recently hit his stride at age of 27.

He's selfish and for a young player it doesn't bode well.

His job is to create goals for the striker and score a few.

Thought he played excellent. Missed chances, not a big deal. You worry when a player doesn't get involved in chances, you don't worry when a player is constantly getting in positions and just having an off finishing day. Constant threat, works hard, always open and available to get the chances and has adapted really well to this system. When the final ball clicks for him he's got the potential to really put up ridiculous numbers.

Overplayed, over relied on and slightly overhyped.

Tbf Its always tough to go into the 1st team and learn/develop your game at the same time. Young players are up against fully formed professionals—both physically and skill-wise.

The Busby phrase 'if you're good enough, you're old enough' was applicable back then when the game was different -- slower tempo, fewer games played. Its just very rare that you will have an 18y.o or 20y.o who can come into the 1st team all ready.

His work rate is excellent, his end product is woeful atm - but he is getting in where we need him to at least.

Many said the same thing about a young Ronaldo.

I get you—Ganarcho is not on the same Ronaldo trajectory for sure. But he may not agree.

Contrary to Rashford, Garnacho does care and is putting in efforts, including defensively. This is good.

That said, something needs to be done with his wasteful finishing

We had a portugese once who dribbled and lost the ball and missed chances for a couple of seasons. He turned out rather good that one.

Give him time, he has the aura and the determination. It will click sooner rather then later if he gets the pat on the back.

This is not 90s where winger role was to create for CFs. Most of the best teams have wide forward as their primary attacker.

He is always involved in the game, his work rate is very good and he works off the ball very well, one of the reason why he gets into so many goal scoring positions or position to create chance.

He is still a young player, lot of scope to improve, especially finishing. He will be a big player if he keeps up his work rate off the ball.

People criticizing him but he's a bit of composure away from being the type of forward who'll hit insane numbers. He's always in the mix and has top notch work ethic. He's on 20 don't forget, he's bound to be erratic.
Not many his age comes close to him.

What a strange post. He's still working hard but his finishing is a bit off atm. Comparisons with Rashford are wrong as it can get.
