Why are you asking for stats if you've apparently already read them?

Not Opta. "A lot of the stats websites".. feck knows where they get their info from or if they get it from Opta they mostly fob it off as their own and don't acknowledge it.

Would love it if we could get him a steady partner.

Glad he is getting the plaudits he deserves now though.

The last one he just got lucky when drawn to the ball. His man was completely free in the center and a better inside pass would have meant a simple ball inside with him out of position.

Its scary to think that if we don't buy another central midfielder, we are going to have to rely on a 32 year old Carrick to play 45-50 odd matches again...

Proven to be indispensable against the top teams.

There was big gaping hole in United's midfield today. It was screaming for Michael Carrick.

It doesn't matter if it's against a big or small team anymore. No matter who we play, if Carrick isn't there, we get overrun in midfield. Simple as that. Even if Carrick plays, he at least needs a proper midfielder next to him, not Giggs or someone like that. We really missed him today though.

We only have one good midfield pairing (Carrick/Celeverely) which is quite embarrassing to be honest

I was wondering why Cleverley hasn't played much recently. He started yesterday and in general it wasn't a great performance. Of course he might be lacking a bit of match fitness, but I also think his form has been disappointing recently which has led to his omission over the last few weeks. A bit sad, like you say when he was the only reliable pairing with Carrick.

Have to say I'm terrified Carrick's form may slump under Moyes, don't ask me why just an unfounded fear I have :(

The interview with him was nice, it feels like we don't hear from him very often. Seems a very humble guy and he was absolutely loving hearing the fans singing his name.

I'm not. He's just found that extra level. If it was a temporary thing it would not have lasted all season. He seems to have cracked that little bit extra, he's now a top class cm.

5 Premier League titles in 7 seasons. That is some record.
And yet, people have been slow to recognise how important he has been for us. Though that looks like it has all changed now. Hopefully he can make it 6 from 8 next season.

No they weren't. He was just playing shit. Now he isn't. Everyone's a winner.

Exactly.

I was highly highly critical of him not because he's a bad player simply because he was playing badly for quite a long time.

Now he has alot more confidence and is taking control of games and dictating play. You only need to look at the BBC graph on how the number of forward passes have improved to understand why so many were frustrated with him before. It probably didn't help that he showed little to no emotion or passion in the past. Now he looks like he's properly enjoying playing for us and is putting in some epic performances and the fans are getting right behind him.

It was great seeing him conducting the Stretty to his song last weekend. And even before that him at a corner waving his arms trying to get the crowed going and behind him.

I still wouldn't play him if we played Barca again because his style of play is not suited to teams that press hard like Barca, but if any team gives him time on the ball he sets into rhythm that dictates play.

I honestly hope more players look at how Carrick has turned round peoples perception of him and put in that extra bit of work and try to connect with fans that bit more. Show some passion to this club and the fans will never forget it.

No comments on him today?

Probably his worst performance in years.

Sell him!
