Makes sense for city to at least try to nick our most talented youngster. If we don't sign him up soon there will be a lot of interest from other big teams. I just hope we get this wrapped up before real or barca come sniffing. It's called "The Mirror". I wish it was banned on here to be honest.
Yeah I don't think he was having a go at Morrison, he really liked him by all accounts.
Moyes would not have played him if he was not sure the kid was going to be tied to a long term contract.
What? Until he has signed on the contract no one will be absolutely sure of that. It isn't any such indication at all.Moyes would not have played him if he was not sure the kid was going to be tied to a long term contract.
Is he good enough? Would we even want him? He isn't exactly pulling up trees with west ham right.?Ravel will be back with us, possibly next summer. Despite his previous problems, the lad is well liked.

We played Pogba when it became apparent that there was a real danger he might be leaving, maybe we're doing the same with Januzaj? Giving him game time in an attempt at convincing him to stay? I think he's staying, but I'd quite like to hear something soon. The point he is making is why would we show the world his talent and get all the big clubs offering him the world if we weren't confident of tieing him down?
I reckon we're on the same page; just saying that there's nothing wrong with our being excited about him.I'm not sure if you're agreeing or disagreeing with me... but yeah, I'm as excited as the next person about him. I'm just cautious too. There have been many very talented youngsters who haven't made the grade at big clubs for one reason or another.
Woodward and co. need to make sure they don't feck around with this one. No low-ball, starting point negotiations, or any such nonsense like we witnessed in the transfer window. Get him on a fair contract, and sort this out before it threatens to become another Pogba situation. The fact that we let him run his contract down so that he only has a year is worrying by itself to be fair. When you have top level talents in your ranks, ones that will be ready to step up in the near future, you should try to tie them down quickly.
Give him whatever he's after, it can't be more than £1m a year which is nothing for a club like United. Even if it doesn't work out and he doesn't develop as we expect him to, we're going to recoup that.Woodward and co. need to make sure they don't feck around with this one. It's The Mirror talking shite.
Most people were outraged at Pogba for daring to ask for £15k od £20k at the time, I wonder if people are going to feel the same about Januzaj if he doesn't extend his deal soonish.I bet the Pogba thread is full of comments like this to be fair, we don't seem to have done a good job of getting our players tied down to new contracts in recent seasons. Hopefully there is nothing in it but with recent experience I wouldn't be overly confident.
One thing for sure if we feck this one up & he ended up at City of all places then it would be a major embarrassment.

Exactly. City sold the best prospect they've had in a few years (Denis Suarez) to Barcelona this summer for a fairly low initial fee because they werent going to use him. So would make absolutely no sense for Januzaj to go there and be in the same boatThe thing is, he's actually more likely to play more football here than at City. The only reason he would consider joining City is the money, and that would come at the expense of any loyalty he feels towards his team mates and the club. We'll sign him up on a new deal pretty soon, he won't be let to slip through the cracks, Moyes obviously rates him highly.

The reason we wouldn't pay Pogba 15k per week was because it would set a bad precedent for a reserve team player with a high opinion of himself to get big wages just because he threatened to leave.
Well considering he has played in two matches so far and Moyes has already said that he's in the plans for this season, then I don't see him not signing a new deal. It doesn't make sense.
Well it didn't make sense for Pogba either to leave the team with the weakest midfield among the top teams to join a team with one of the strongest. Januzaj seems different though, or so I hope, and he seems to be getting a look in the side from early on in the season, so that should ease away his fears. I just wish his contract was done and dusted, so that we could enjoy his progression without having to worry about another Pogba situation.
Yes. Nothing can be taken for granted. The old assumptions simply don't apply with foreign kids who have no inbred affinity with United and English football.
He needs to be given games and made part of the first team rotation. My reading is, once assured of that, he'll sign.
Provided we're not too stingy of course. Let's hope Woody learned his lesson in the summer.
