Adnan Januzaj

This lad has been one of the very few positives this season. A magical talent.

Moyes has got to see how much better our wing play is when Janujaz is playing for us, and play him more than Valencia? We are so less one- dimensional with him on the right, and I always feel we have a chance to create something with him on the ball, a rarity with out players.

Give him a 30-game season, give us a slim chance of doing better with someone with more consistency, please!

He has comfort on the ball you'd only expect to see in a mid 20s player. Has confidence in himself too. Breath of fresh air.

Everything he does has a positive influence and is well thought out. His crosses are dangerous, his passes are dangerous and his runs are dangerous.

Compare this to Valencia who's default is to drill it in and hit the first man.

He's been the focal point of our attack.

Why do our experienced players shy away from responsibility?

Some people just dont have the personality to stand up and lead by example. A good few look deflated, or just cant encourage themselves to power on and lift it.

He shouldn't need to carry us on his shoulders.

But he is required to actually. Frightening.

The wonders of Januzaj. The best 18 year old we've had in a decade.

Hes got so much quality its unreal, having lost both Morrison and Pogba its nice to see a talented youngster come through... Now imagine if we had all three

EDIT Seeing the score now I just want to make sure - he did just sign a new 5 year contract right?!

I love him.

Sack them all. Clone Januzaj.

At half time I'd have taken one of the strikers off and moved Adnan behind the frontman. He was clearly our only player capable of linking midfield and attack and moving him centrally could've seen him being more involved.

On the wings I thought he was not in the play for large periods which was a waste of our most attacking threat.

Agree. When I saw Zaha coming on I was praying it was for van Persie so we could move Adnan into the middle.

I was of the exact same opinion. The 4-4-2 was failing miserably and we had to hoof long-balls to try and bypass their midfield. With Adnan there I am sure we would have been able to link our wingers, midfield and RVP together.

Today we were outnumbered constantly. First in the middle because we had 2 strikers who were inactive as the play was too low. Then when our wingers had the ball they instantly doubled up on them and RVP/Chica was inside the box just waiting for the ball to teleport there. Then whenever our strikers had the ball they were also outnumbered because our midfielders were never more offensive than our opponents central midfielders.

It doesn't help the team to outnumber their striker 4 to 1 in the build-up if we can't get anywhere after that.

Hernandez tried his best to be fair to the lad. Always running and chasing down balls. Feeding off scraps is an understatement.

What is frightening is that he's come from the youth team into the first team and must be thinking "hang on, I'm not far off being the best player here". At least we got him to sign the deal before he starts dreaming of Real and Barca.

One of the only midfield players who didn't look to pass sideways or hoof the ball up the field, but instead looked for defence-splitting passes to the strikers. Cleverley should be ashamed of himself that an 18 year old in his first season in the PL has a better passing range than him.

There's no reason he can't play as a number 10 now, no reason at all, we're struggling for central creativity, we should try him there as he could make a big difference there.

If you read the last part of the sentence you realize I am not blaming Hernandez at all. I said that during the build-up we automatically have 2 players just wandering around on top doing nothing. It is part of a 4-4-2 which is why top-teams don't use it.

Newcastles lone-striker occupied 2 central defenders today, which meant they were one man more everywhere else. In contrary we always had 2 strikers occupying their two central defenders meaning all they needed to create a chance was get past their man.

Was class today, him and Hernandez seemed to understand each other well... pretty much the only ones in the front 6 that did. He really should be starting most games, definitely all the key games. He's been our best player after Rooney this season easily.

Definitely our bright spark today. What stands out is his willingness to take responsibility despite being the youngest player on the pitch. Seeing him doing it in the younger age groups is one thing but it's the fact that he's repeating it at the highest level. I was also hoping he would move central in sacrifice of one of the strikers because we were dying for a playmaker in the middle and he would have bridged the gap between the midfield and the attack.

Absolutely enjoying his development. Have enjoyed watching him through the U18s and U21s and it's definitely the thing I look forward to most in our senior games atm.

Had to miss the game today (which is probably a blessing).

From the sounds of it here he did well despite what must have been a pretty abject performance from the rest of the team.

He really was the one shining light of our performance today. Every time he had the ball, he did something bright and inventive with it, but to rely on someone who has just broken through to the first team squad this season is ridiculous. He shouldn't have so much responsibility and should be slowly phased into the team at that age. Our quality in wide areas is either poor or in poor form however, so he becomes more important and influential than he should be.

Still, at least we have this massive talent.

Been a breath of fresh air but one gets the impression the opposition has already begun sussing him out. This is not helped by the apparent apathy from the rest of the team to offer him immediate options when in possession and at times protection. The game today illustrated these two points. The most important thing is that he avoids getting sucked into the collective depressive lull that's afflicting majority of the squad.

He is indeed of protection from both the management and teammates.

Outstanding today. The new United attack will be based around him. A modern player in a dated team.

He wasn't outstanding per se but only in the context of his age. He created 2-3 half chances and had a weak shot on target. Wouldn't call such a performance outstanding. Great talent though. That much is certain.

Outstanding in light of the shite around him. Was one of the most accomplished players on the pitch, dropped off 2nd half though.

Cleverley has nothing to be ashamed of. Most people on here are not among the best in the world in what they do and don't spend their time being ashamed of it. Januzaj is by far the more talented, and if his development doesn't stop there's every chance he will be one of the best.

Cleverley should be proud of being a squad player for Manchester United.

Not really - physically he's not quite ready. But he will be.

He constantly plays significantly better than Kagawa, Young, Valencia, Nani et al. He's stronger than Kagawa. He should always be starting in this team, he's clearly good enough.

Thank god he signed a new contract. At least 3 more years of Januzaj
