Adnan Januzaj

I think he deserves to start, and one part of me is thinking he definitely should, while the other (probably more sensible one) thinks he should be brought on as an impact sub.
Purely because I think it's gonna be a highly contested match and having that "spark" available off the bench could really inspire our team when the sub(s) are made, he would also add an extra dynamic for which Wenger couldn't prepare for in the half-time talk and generaly would have more energy than Arsenal's tiring defence to boost.
Since we pretty much need a win here, there's a big chance we're gonna have to push on and attack in the latter stages of the match (a draw does Arsenal way more good than it does United), and honestly apart from Hernandez we don't really have that "it" factor off the bench that fills me with confidence. We could certainly try that with Januzaj.
On the other hand the possibility of him running the show for 90 minutes against the league leaders would be a sight to behold.

I was wondering if anyone had suggested this as a chant for Januzaj yet?

This is Rangers fans singing it for Jean Claude Darcheville, but it would fit like "Ad-nan Januzaj na-na na-na na-na."

It's simple and it's catchy.

Although Moyes would have every reason to leave him on the bench, as he's so young and needs to be somewhat shielded, he's also been a player that's given the team a huge lift and has been among our best players this season.

I think that he should start, despite the occasion. Look what he did at Sunderland, when the pressure couldn't have been much higher to pick up the three points.

I agree, he has a really composed head on his shoulders. If he was 25 he'd be deemed undroppable, and it's not like we have an abundance of left wing talent anyway.

Some are over thinking this, he will play simply because he has been one of our best players this season. I'm really looking forward to this game I hope it lives up to expectations.

You expecting an open attacking game? I really doubt it, most of the big games end up being nervy battles with both teams unwilling to commit too much.

I don't think there is any doubt he will start. The likes of Kagawa, Nani or Young don't deserve to keep him out and the question should be who starts on the right as there is far more grounds for one of them to start over Valencia. It's as simple as Jaffy Joe says.

If Moyes has any doubts about him he would not have used him against Sunderland or subbed Kagawa for him against WBA. If you were going to make a list of our top three attacking players this season on form Januzaj would have to make everyone's list IMO.

It's kinda sad that our best wide player is an 18 year old. Speaks volumes about how much our wingers have regressed over the past two seasons.

Not necessarily an open attacking game just a good game. I don't want any funny referring decisions to decide it. I want both teams to show up.

I think with Januzaj it speaks volumes about how good he actually has been so far. There improvement needed with the others, for sure.

Completely agreed. In our biggest games, play our best players. At this point in time, Januzaj is one of our best players.

Not really, it follows a tradition that says sometimes a teenager arrives who's too special to leave out. Giggs was a starter against Arsenal in his first season, same with Ronaldo, same with Rooney. Not sad at all.

I don't think it's just that Nani and Valencia are below their best, I think he should be out there because he's ready.

True, but there's also an element of our wingers' shiteness magnifying Januzaj's abilities. To an extent. He's a talented youngster, no doubt. We're all excited to see a wide player actually take a defender on instead of doing a Young/Valencia.

I agree. I really hope Moyes avoids being overly cautious and going with the likes of Young, Smalling at RB, and/or Valencia (although I could somewhat agree with this, given that he's looked better lately.) I would love to see Rooney, RVP, Januzaj and Nani up front.

I liked the suggested video that came up:

When the video was uploaded on YouTube he was 16. The video itself (if it is him) is footage from when he would have been around 9 or 10.

awwwwwwwwww :)

Actually, this is not Januzaj but Turkish Dilhan Necipoglu.

This is from the Pinanti is Pinanti Cup, which was organised by the Flemish public broadcasting network in 2007-2008. All participants were between 11 and 13.

Thanks. I didn't think it was him (Januzaj) as the face is very different. I know it can change in puberty etc, but not sure to that extent. Googled Dilhan, saw a recent picture and you can tell it's the same person.

Will he start in Wales on Sunday?

I think he will. Can't wait to see him in action again. I wanted to see him against high quality oppostion against Arsenal, but Moyes seems to be keeping him grounded a little.

He should be rested and fresh. I can't wait for Sunday.

Moyes has been handling him brilliantly IMO. He's giving him opportunities while still keeping him fresh and hungry.

I agree, Moyes has handled him brilliantly.I wonder sometimes if Moyes wishes he'd been more careful with a very young Rooney, and maybe with Adnan he'll be a bit more conservative.I don't think any young lad that is short of being physically full developed should be playing week in week out at the top level. He'll benefit when he's older. He should play in Wales though.

To be fair to Moyes it was different at Everton. Rooney was pretty much undroppable for him even at 16. At United he's got the luxury of being able to rest someone as talented as Januzaj without impacting on the first team's quality too much.

I'd agree with this.
I'd love to see him play every week but it's understandable that he doesn't. Hope he plays on Sunday though.

Waiting for Ferdinand to confirm it - I have a feeling it's another fake account.

How did Moyes handle Rooney badly? Rested him a lot there as well, not as if Rooney has had any chronic injuries a la Owen or Giggs in his 20s.

I don't think he handled him extremely badly as such, but he was in the team and playing pretty regular at just turned seventeen.Almost forty appearances in his debut season. He quickly became Evertons key player and before long Englands, but he was good enough and it's a tricky one when your player is so talented yet so young.Adnan is also good enough and yes a little older.David Moyes has probably consulted SAF on Adnan and he will have been well advised on how he may deal with this lad.Regarding Wayne, I was concerned 12 months ago that he looked physically shot, but he does look fitter of late.I am not convinced he'll be able to continue much after he hits 32.Playing with men for years when he was just a kid will have taken it's toll on his body i feel.

He probably won't be able to play for much longer than his early thirties but that would be becauase of his genes and physique, nothing to do with him playing football when he was 17.
