Adel Taarabt

Plays a bit like Cristiano Ronaldo when he was younger... lots of stepovers and fakes, loving the dragback behind the standing leg, can go past you left or right, serious pace when running at you.

Looks talented but I can see Rooney and Berba getting quite frustrated at times with him not releasing the ball sooner.

Clearly talented but he's a greedy fecker, and a lot of his fancy stuff seemed to be stopped by the defence and the ones that did work you can't see getting through most PL defenders. Some of his passes are fantastic though, well capable of unlocking defences. He's somewhat like a younger Nani, trying too much flash but if he sorts his decision making out and releases the ball to a team mate more often he could be very good.

It's like when he knows he's 99% lost the ball, instead of playing it to the guy near him with his hands out, he instead thinks 'must... have... last... stab... at... skills...' and then loses posession. When instead he should think 'okay that fecked up, pass and go before I lose the ball.'

I play football every Sunday with 2 people like that and everyone complains about them on the way home. They see 3 players coming at them and instead of thinking 'we can pass round them as a team and score a goal' they think 'I can get through all them 3 and score a goal and look really good in doing it.' When in reality they can't. It's okay once or twice, but time after time after time and you begin to think 'ffs just pass the fecking ball, it's failed 4 times in a row, you aren't going to do it, there are other players on this team.'

Now he might not be that bad, but that's the impression the Youtube shows.

Neither have been playing out wide for some time now... don't think ive seen Adam on the wing since his Ranger days anyhow. Taraabt still has to prove himself in the PL, personally i think he suits a mid table club at best, and as a squad player.

Hope we sign neither. Break the bank for Pastore.

Horrible attitude and the only reason he's doing so well is he's overprotective at QPR. Won't hack it at a proper club that plays team football and most of those tricks aren't going to work against grizzled PL defenders.

Well he's been having fun down in the Championship, and it seems as though he'll be returning to the PL soon enough. Next season we'll see whether or not he's become a better player and actually grew some sense since his last crack at the bigtime, as at the moment he's messing about. And let's be fair when you're a big fish in a small pond you do tend to take the piss.

Scored another peach against Cardiff in the first half (HT now)

looks like a cross to me...

Taarabt is a hot head. Good that he has found some form in him, but way too early to judge his actual level..

If Bebe & Obertan get sold this summer then Adel wont be a bad back up to have.

Fergie has turned the likes of Ronaldo and Nani into real effective world class wingers/forwards and i can see the same for Adel too.

We've got no need for players with attitude in the dressing room. He can stay away.

Attitude, has he really?

If so, coming to United may well sort that out..

How much is he worth, £7-8m? Surely worth a punt!

Ronaldo was similar in terms of possession.

SAF would knock some of that out of him. I actually saw a team player in there. He's aware of where his team mates and and can deliver an accurate pass. Ronaldo lost interest if he had to give the ball to a team mate.

Sorry - but it's true.

Seems to me just the kind of project SAF would like to get involved with.

Taarabt > Ronaldo

If you consider the age ( Ronaldo at 21 ) he might have a point as Taarabt had a few good passes to his team mates too, but still this is the championship we're talking about while Ronaldo was playing games against the top teams of Europe day in and day out.

Not worth the comparison imo...

Taarabt > Ronaldo

No - I'm obviously not saying that. Completely different style of players. I'm saying that okay - he likes to hang onto the ball. But he IS a team player.

I don't think Ronaldo was a team player. (I don't think Nani is a team player either at heart!)

But with greater training, better learning, and more effective team players around him - this is just the kind of player that SAF would LOVE to work with. Especially as a playmaker rather than a winger. Although he could play wing he's more of a playmaker once you sort his head out!

But this guy who has been described as selfish who also like to dribble the ball, is someone a better team player than Ronaldo or Nani, why the feck is he QPR then. Isnt Taarabt a racist(anti-Semite) too?

He is also Captain of QPR. I'm not saying he'd not prefer to keep the ball. But when you look at the standard of the rest of the players at QPR would you feel confident in passing the ball to them. The answers no.

In the clips I've seen he does play in other players who subsequently mis-control or lose the ball. I've seen him display great vision and deliver a ball accurately to feet only for the QPR player to balls it up!

At United that wouldn't happen (as much!)

Why is he playing at QPR if he's as good as some of you make him out to be?

He's definitely talented having won the Championship player fo the year. He didn't break into the Spurs teams of either Ramos or Redknapp and then went to play in the Championship. He's been directly or indirectly responsible for 50% of QPR's goals this season (goals & assists). And they're getting promoted.

He's only 21! and left Spurs aged 19 to go to QPR initially on loan.

His style reminds me of Zidane but a little more flashy for the sake of being flashy. Zidane was never flashy for the sake of being flashy - but only showed skills in order to get the job done. Taarabt is a little bit immature, sure.

I've not seen him extensively, but everyone says his talent is wasted in the Championship.

I just feel that he might be worth a punt. We've made punts on these types of players before and honed their talents. Cantona being a case in point.

Watch him on Youtube.

I'm not sure he doesn't have phenomenal talent.

I'm also not sure that this talent couldn't be developed into something phenomenal given proper schooling and someone understanding like SAF whose done it all before!

Having an attitude is never wrong - if you use it the wrong way. And we have had plenty of players with an attitude that Ferguson has sorted out

Surely Spurs wouldn't sell such a good prospect, unless of course they decide to sell Bale due to CL reasons.

Spurs already sold him.....

And I think as Fergie ages further along, these big projects seem less and less interesting to him.

Look at Bebe and Obertan - the Fergie of 5 years ago would still be giving them opportunities. But we haven't seen them for months.

I think Fergie has lost that patience. Don't see him taking on another kid with talent but a piss poor attitude.

No thanks, i've actually seen enough of him in games to know that whilst there is a good amount of talent there it isn't really phenomenal and his workrate is not really what we should be looking for. He will never be on the same level as Roonie no matter what Fergie does with him and he will look a lot less amazing in the prem against quality defenders.

Laurent Robert standard, no better.

Would he? I mean, I've never seen a worse winger at United then Bebe. He can't cross, he can't shoot, his passing is weak and so is his positioning. He only has raw power and a bit of pace but that's all about him. FFS he makes the likes of Richardson, Greening and Chadwick look like decent players and they all didn't made the grade at United. Obertan is slightly better then the Bebe guy but he's nowhere near to what we currently have both in house (Giggs, Park, Nani, Valencia) and on loan (Cleverley, Welbeck). I haven't lost hope on them yet but they are desperately in need of regular first team football and I doubt that they will get it in the EPL.

Just scored a nice goal.Should be the goal that sends them up if they are not docked points .

Aye that's a big goal from him today. Can't see him being with QPR next season but I don't think he's good enough for a big side.

QPR have played a 442 lately. Has he featured as a CM? Faurlin and Routledge must be their wideplayers?

I thought Faurlin was a central midfield player?
