Books A Song of Ice and Fire (Books) | TV show? What TV show?

Ned Stark was nearing the tower where his sister was. "If you come any closer am gon' pop a cap in yo' ass.", Dwayne said to him from a distance.

ah yeah possible. COnsidering it was Howland that was bullied he's probably not the mystery knight. Also interesting is that the whole story of the mystery knight and harrenhall comes from his children

Thats why I think its a stark as well as his whole family is loyal to them and his children pratically sacrificed themselves for bran so something must have happened in the past.
Well let's be honest there are a shit load of good fighters around it seems and we only really know about those in Westeros for the biggest part. Drogo was probably a really good fighter as well. I guess there wasn't much between a lot of them and given a bit of luck and on a good day most of them could have defeat anyone else on the best fighter list and vice versa.

Yeah, I think it would be easier to have tiers than an outright ranking.

Yeah, wasnt their a quote by selmy or lord friendzone that rhager was good at whatever he tried.

Yeah, he seemed to be like that guy at school you inexplicably hate because he's good at sports, music, his work, with girls and is a good guy as well in the process. And then he got killed by the drunk guy.

That's actually a good point. He couldn't even defend himself against a bunch of bully squires so he couldn't have been that good of a fighter. Still it gets mentioned that the mystery knight was small so Lyanna might actually be a fit. I think you have convinced me Howland must have had another trick up his sleeve to beat the likes of Dayne and Hightower.

Good point but he was the first sword of barasoi(sp?) so must have been good. He was fighting knights in armour with a wooden sword, what did you expect to happen other than him being killed?

I disagree with the assassin not being a fighter, I think we will see evidence of his skill in the latter books. Which brings me to Hotah or that gay dude, who is off the night,Darkstar. The most dangerous man in Dorne I believe he was called.
Holy shit man, how could you butcher that so savagely? It's Braavos!

 I knew it was wrong, just couldnt be bothered to check.

Carl Drogo and Arthur Dwayne would be ashamed at that sort of spelling. People who spell it like that should get the Jamie Lannister right hand treatment!

He seems like the most interesting character yet to appear in the books. Also knows about Jon as well

Not that I am complaining or anything but did missandei and grey worm have any interest in each other in the books?

Nah, that was completely made up I think. Was nice to give him a bit of development other than being a eunuch with a sword but seemed a bit pointless for this episode.

Nope. Missandei was 10 years old when we are first introduced.

Oh great that you mention this. It always bothered my that there was actually no way for Jon to find out he was half a Targaryen but now that you mention it of course Howland Reed knows this as well. Hope he really appears in the last two books.

Did any of the Ironborn or the Boltons actually conquer Moat Cailin in the books? I have no memory of this.

I thought it was a nice addition :p

Although I did find it strange how greyworm was in love with daenerys a few eps ago(sword holding battle with that mercenary) and now is eying her translator.
Nope. Missandrei is 10 on the books.
Missandei is ten when we meet her in the books.
No. Missandei is a child of about 10 in the books if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks guys.

Both did, Ironborn held it first but were tricked by the boltons in losing it.
Cheers. I never cared much about either (at least until Euron shows up), so it's not a surprise I don't remember it.

Also littlefinger mentioned about people dying while sitting on the chamber pot. Looks like they are going to stick with that for Tywin

He got thread banned, didn't he?

Man this is really the thread where they come to die. I wonder how many people actually got banned because they mentioned the word "books" in there and send Eboue into a fit of rage.

Looks like. Can't say he can have any complaints

About the Grey Worm-Missandei thing: it's worth mentioning that in the books, the guy selling the Unsullied brags about how they remove everything down there when they cut them. He says they're the purest creatures on Earth, as unlike most eunuchs they don't even have a penis, they can't have erections.

Rager you mean? :P

Tbf thought I often have trouble remembering the spelling of some of the names in the book. They seem so weird sometimes.

Was a nightmare first time I watched the show. Remember being confused when Bronn and the Hound came face to face since they were the same person. Took me till about season 2 till I realised Jon and Robb weren't the same guy. Then when Theon started doing his own shit I became even more confused.

Not to mention I thought Stannis and Renly were Robert's sons, which was why they wanted the throne. Plus there were lots of other characters in there who made no sense and were all each other till I started rereading.

 Jesus, I almost wished I hadn't read the books now first so I could see how much of a mindf*ck it'd be for me.

In the episode there was that scene where Littlefinger was talking to the Arryn boy, when he was talking about how many ways can people die. The whole thing felt like a big build-up to saying they can die even when 'squatting over their chamber pots' - that was not-so-subtle foreshadowing, wasn't it?

Yeah, I remember having a revelation in the last episode of season 3 as well when Bran said goodbye to Rickon, since up until then I'd had no idea that Ned and Catelyn had another kid wandering around. Thought he was just some random mate of Bran's who had been randomly following him.

Yeah, kinda obvious to us.

I'm pretty sure if I would only have watched the show I still wouldn't know who all these people are I keep seeing week in and week out.
What did he do?

Fish fingers thread banned.

I'm surprised at how many people genuinely think Tyrion might die. I don't think I ever truly believed he would bite the bullet when reading, even after the fight.

Series has done a good job of hyping up the whole "anyone can die" thing. While it's still there in the books it's faded now and you can sort of spot the patterns and who's safe after a while.

You can't blame them, by this point it's been hammered into them that nobody is safe.
Yeah, kinda obvious to us.
There was some speculation in this thread about how they'll do Tywin's death scene and some people said they might omit the whole shitting part. It seems they won't.

I thought that too, til Jon died.

Not that it matters much, soon enough they'll realize that nobody ever actually seems to be f*cking dead.

Means you can tell relaxed non-book readers that "shit will go down" in the final episode, and actually mean it literally.

 Thats not that bad, he didnt post anything like a spoiler.

Although I will never understand the overreaction of the book readers or why the book readers cant just stay in this thread.
