Books A Song of Ice and Fire (Books) | TV show? What TV show?

I wonder what's going to happen with that Locke guy? He hasn't followed Vargo Hoat's plotline all that much so they could do a lot of things with him from now on. Any chance he'll be the one to have a run in with the hound?

Gonna miss Joffrey, he's been an excellent villain. Hopefully we'll see him bow out on a prickish high by really taunting Tyrion beforehand. Wonder if they'll have the jousting dwarves?

Great stuff. It's enjoyable in the book, but arguably much better to see onscreen. Final image was haunting.

I enjoyed Sigur Rós' little cameo.

I hadn't thought too much about this episode or any in general. When the scene cut from the city landscape to the church, a lot of memories came flooding back.

By the way, can I just say how pleased I am that they've turned the cnut-level right back up with Cersei. At a few points in the show so far I've felt that they've perhaps been a bit too kind on her, like she's suffering Joffrey right there along with the rest of them. One one hand I do like that they've managed to make her human, but I guess they realized that she's got a ways left to go and she won't have Joffrey's cuntyness to lean on.

How long until a non book reader posts about noticing Olenna and the necklace? It was subtle, but you can only be so subtle in a visual medium. Most will have missed it but not everyone. At least it will be show watchers spoiling other show watchers this time.

I see. That's very subtle indeed. She did get the necklace a week ago and there was a lot of necklace talk in that episode. I'm sure many females noticed that.

Was watching out for something and I didn't notice it! Brilliant episode, the show really does just keep on getting better. Think they did that whole seen perfectly.

The only time where I felt a bit sorry for Cersei was inside the temple

I thought the whole thing was better in the books tbh. The wedding seemed very dull compared to what was described in the books. But as always Jack Gleeson was fecking brilliant. I also liked how they didn't ignore the fact Theon did see Robb as his brother. The whole scene was great.

The guy playing Tommen is too tall/old. The boyish aspect seems to be missing.

The cnut-level is going to shoot up enormously I reckon. She gets very nasty after Joffrey is dead.

A lot of them seem to suspect the pie in the other thread. One has nailed it so far with regards to Olenna talking about killing a man at a wedding.

I wonder if they'll do that creepy scene where Cersei and Jaime bang in the crypt right next to Joff's body.

What did people think of the actor for Mace?

Not sure, he seemed fine in this episode and looks to suit the part, but didn't have to do too much either. I did like the bit where his mother basically told him off when she was talking to Tywin.

It's actually much easier to figure this out in the show. They only had Dontos give her the necklace in the last episode, so that should be fresh in the memory.

Crap, that was tommen? Tommen in my head is incredibly young, barely double figures.

Have to say, I love the casting of oberyn. Absolutely spot on for me.

Blonde guy, standing next to his mother and sitting on the high seat. Has to be Tommen. He's only 9 I think and names his cat Ser Pounce

I think Tommen and Bran are the same age in the books, but the show didn't age Tommen and Myrcella up initially like it did for just about everyone else. I guess if Fabio Daario can morph into Beardy Daario then Tommen can age 5 years overnight.

Yeah I thought it must have been another lannister cousin! Can't believe they've cast him that old.

They recast him, so it seems like they'll be ageing him up a bit and making him a slightly more mature teenager as opposed to a little kid as he is in the books. That might affect his relationship with Margaery too: since he'd be at an age where he's more likely to actually show an interest in her than Ser Pounce.

I think he's great in the books, personally. It also served as a great contrast between him and Joffrey. I hope they can bring that out.

I really like the character too, he's one of the few who's completely and utterly innocent. I imagine he'll largely be the same in that he'll be a well-meaning, innocent kid, but one that's slightly more mature and aware than he is in the books. He'll be crucial in the conflict between Cersei/Margaery, but unlike in the books where he seems to listen to Margaery sometimes merely because he trusts her, we'll probably see her using her charms in order to win him over to her side a bit more.

I'm guessing with the actor who played Ser Illyn having terminal cancer they decided to change it to Bronn for Jaime's training.

That probably had a lot to do with it, although since Bronn is a much more well known character than Ilyn and he'd have nothing to do next season without the alteration, they may have changed it to him anyway.

I think they are and have built Bronn up to such an extent that when he completely rejects Tyrion in the next couple of episodes it'll make for better television. Tyrion will basically lose everything now. Also, does anyone feel they haven't been graphic enough with Theon/Reek? He looks exactly the same bar a really awkward limp.

It's quite effective and the actor is doing well but it's nowhere near as disturbing as it was in the books, although even with makeup it'd probably be very difficult to make him look as frail as he was in the books.

Yeah I guess so. They're focusing more on his mental breakdown. That scene with Ramsay/Vargo and Roose was very chilling. It's brilliant how I know I'm going to feel very uncomfortable in almost every Reek/Ramsay scene.

Almost impossible I'd say. Those internal monologues of Theon (rhymes with sneak, weak etc..) were the highlights of DwD.

I wish more show watchers liked Stannis, they haven't done a great job with him so far. Hopefully the scenes on the wall will help.
