Books A Song of Ice and Fire (Books) | TV show? What TV show?

Also what are people's thoughts oh what will happen to Jaime in the next book? He's now my favourite character, I loved his redemption arc, and his thoughts are generally pretty amusing. Doesn't look good for him though. Brienne will take him back to Stoneheart, and surely she will hang him/perhaps make him and Brienne fight. I keep trying to think of scenarios where he could survive, but surely Stoneheart will want to kill him on sight. I think he does still need to meet up with Cersei to end that arc (kill her hopefully), so there are reasons for him to be kept alive.

Kraken- Victarion
Dark flame- ?
Lion- Lannister
Griffin- Jon Connington
Sun's son- Quentyn Martell
Mummer's dragon- Fake Aegon

Who was the pale mare again? Also, I'm kinda hoping there will be real krakens.

Dark Flame is Moqorro, Lion is Tyrion.

"Mummer's Dragon" only means that he was set up by Varys. Doesn't necessarily mean he's fake. Although I do think he is.

Shit I've completely forgotten who Moqorro is. I need to reread the series.

He's that priest who travels with Victarion iirc but I get the feeling. You just have to read the series 2/3 times to absorb all the plots, characters etc..

I went from not liking him at all to him becoming my favourite character once he had his own Pov's.

I have a weird feeling the zombie Cat will get Jaime. The hound will do for The Mountain and then Arya will float around picking people off working for someone unknown to her like Varys who is likely also Jaqen h'ghar.

Yep, he's definitely going to survive as I have him as a cert to kill Cersei later. No idea how he'll do it though. I doubt Brienne would let him get killed, maybe she intervenes?

Very interesting.
Holy. feck.

I've always felt that Sansa would have a major role in the endgame.
Same. She's become smarter, tougher and a lot less naive - and all it took was half her family to be brutally murdered!

But seriously I think she's become a lot more bearable as the books have gone on and will continue to grow smarter and hopefully have a major influence from now on.

That'd be good for Sansa, she'll finally get the prince she's always been dreaming about since (fake)Aegon is meant to be a looker.

She still remains one of my least favourite characters though

Those are my thoughts too, I think he(not Tyrion) will end up being the Valonqar that was prophecised would kill Cersei. Should be fun.

Yeah the prophecies make it seem like Tyrion but I think that would be too obvious.

From being in such a strong position at the start of the series, and being at their peak in Storm of Swords, the Lannisters have really fecked up. Tywin, Kevan and Joffrey dead, Cersei on trial, Jaime has one hand, Tyrion is a slave in the east...Where did it all go wrong? All Tywin's tough love towards his children didn't really work out how he expected it too...I think Cersei's a complete train wreck of a person who caused her own downfall.

Arya has to come back as some sort of assasin. Isn't that what she's training for?

I think Arya will be used to assassinate a primary character at some point. Sent after Daenerys maybe or Jon Snow?

I love Cersei's descent into madness in Feast, the paranoia, the drinking, the weight gain and the humiliation at the end. Delightful to read (I'm not a sadist).

Think those two are linked. It'll take something big for Jamie to decide to kill Cersei, something her increasing paranoia will provide. I think she'll keep getting worse until she does/threatens to do something so horrible that Jamie has to kill her.

I'm also thinking of that prophecy that she'll outlive all her children. I wonder if her children's deaths will be the breaking point for her? Or, if she reaches breaking point, will she cause their deaths herself?

Yeah I have a feeling Cersei will outlive Tommen and Myrcella, and it would be pretty dark if she somehow causes their deaths. I hope Tommen's kittens survive.

Myrcella is still in Dorne, with Ser Balon Swann right? I like Ser Balon but I can't see him coming back from Dorne, the Darkstar will probably end up killing him or he'll get stabbed in the back by someone.

Some posited a theory that in her desperation when she's lost or about to lose everything, she'll threaten to burn down KL with wildfire or something, which would prompt Jaime to have to stop her.

Jaime saving KL from wildfire again? I like it.

I have said that she'll be the queen a year ago.

Sansa and Aegon will rule the seven kingdoms in the end. The story will finish when it started. A Targaryan falling in love with a Stark girl.

Snow and Danny will die in the final battle. I think that Snow is the Azor Ahai while Danny is the 'price' who was promised.

Rickon will become the new Stark lord.

Have you read 'Tales of Dunk and Egg'?

I'm not convinced Aegon will play a that significant role, considering how late he was introduced to the story. For all I know that's not a consideration GRMM makes, so I'm prepared to be surprised.

Dunk and Egg is good, although I have just read the first one since my sister bought me the Dreamsongs GRRM collection.

I think that he is really a Targaryan. Though of course, he might be just Illyrou's son.

Read the other two. Spoiler alert: possible backstory on BloodRaven.

I'd like to, but I'm not actually entirely sure where to get hold of them. I think I looked earlier, and discovered that they were both part of other anthologies that I wasn't interested in buying at the time.

Really? I think he's going to be excellent.

Look at his pic here, its nothing like what I imagined him like or how he is described in the books. He is suppose to be dornish i.e. darkish skin and the books dont mention any facial hair. Also, I imagine his hair to be longer than that according to the books although his acting might make up for it.

Thats closer to what I imagined him to be and the wiki obviously agrees.

I've followed the casting closely, and it shouldn't come as a surprise that actors don't look exactly like their book characters. Hardly anyone does. I pictured the Dornish as Mediterranean, and Pedro Pascal is Chilean, so it's hardly that bad. The Oberyn in the picture you linked isn't exactly dark either. The hair is the biggest difference, but that's hardly something they've been too concerned about in casting.

Until I see his acting all I can judge him is on his looks. He can turn out to be excellent but for now, am disappointed.

You'll need to be a disguisting human being and use torrentz. Or just look at them in order to make the job easier for the police.

I'll go and have a look now so I can report it to the appropriate authorities.

Totally agree - he's my most favourite character too.

I just cannot see him dying early like Robb. (Knowing GRRM, it's possible, though)

Right now, he is mentally shaken, and is having trouble coming to terms with his identity, and finding a meaning to life. Tywin is dead, Joffrey is dead, Tyrion has betrayed him, Cersei disguists him, and he is no longer the swordsman he was. Everything he'd built his life on has crumbled, and he is surrounded by uncertainties. From a writer's point of view, he is a potentially exhilarating character off the back of a tough arc, ready to fly in any direction.

I personally think that Jaime will come to love Brienne more than he ever he loved Cersei, and that Brienne's manner of death (when has GRRM allowed 'love' to flourish?) will decide his future.

Yo dude, for your own sake, stop posting shitloads of paragraphs in the other thread, it never, ever ends well for people who've read the book. A mod will rain down on you with vengeance when they find out you've read the books.

Oh. I didn't know someone who'd read the books wasn't supposed to comment in the other thread. My bad.

We can comment but they absolutely hate it with people (Revan) who've read the books have big discussions in there because they're worried it'll spoil shit for them.

I'll take absolute care to make sure nothing related to the plot after book 3 spills out of my keyboard on that thread. Promise.;)

They're overly paranoid in there, but I'd avoid discussion anyway. They get a bit tetchy just seeing the word book, and god forbid you remember the name of a peripheral character.
