Books A Song of Ice and Fire (Books) | TV show? What TV show?

Well this would be the first time I'd be pissed about spoilers. Since I read the books it didn't matter before so it feels a bit odd not knowing what will happen. I'm starting to understand how the people that didn't read the books felt when someone opened their big mouth and ruined everything.
Well, imagine how people will feel that started reading the books almost 20 years ago when an average TV show spoils what they've been waiting to read.

Because when you do a series of books, ethically you are making a contract with the readers that you are going to finish it. No-one will buy your books, if this wasn't the case. People don't want to read unfinished series.

Haha, what! Many people read unfinished series. Ever read Odd Thomas and the Odd Thomas series? I believe Dean Koontz is still releasing new books in the series. The Jason Bourne series books are still getting written I believe, or they were up to 2014.

New books(stories) come out all the time extending a series.

People do not want to read an unfinished series. Not that people don't read series that are ongoing.

Nothing, they;ll be grown ups and not teenagers on the internet who piss their pants at the slightest hint of a spoiler.

If they do encounter spoilers they'll know how to live with it.

You think only teenagers care about spoilers? Star Wars was just recently released. There were certainly a lot of adults who cared about seeing that movie unspoiled.

It's just a movie. Not the end of the world really.
Says the man posting in the entertainment section on a football forum with 21k posts in 4 years.

Why do you care what people should care about, movie or not. Just a movie. It's a franchise that was the biggest part of a $4 billion deal and that "just a movie" has broken all records for hauling in the cash and viewers.

I don't get the context of a single sentence in that post.

Star Wars has made $1.511 billion in 16 days. Considering that's more then most people on here would make in a lifetime (Probably everybody on here) its role as "just a movie" is clearly a bit more important then you are giving it credit for.

You also doesn't seem to get caring about something in the entertainment business yet here you are on a forum dedicated to it.
And?

Again, I must be missing something here. What does Star Wars box office sales have to do with anything I said?

What have it being a movie have anything to do with people caring about it or not?

It's supposed to be entertainment, so obviously it is strange to see non-teenagers losing sleep because someone told them a spoiler.

To each his own anyway dude, feel free to burn down the house of the next person who tells you a spoiler from a movie.

tbf, it is "just a movie"....if it didn't exist, nothing would dramatically change in whatevers life really. But still, it's nice to be have these things, things completely irrelevant to take us away from things that are relevant. You know....just like supporting Man Utd. If you knew Ole and Teddy were gonna score, would 99 have been so great? or that VDS would save Anelka's penalty?

A very minor comparison....but yeah, how you are missing the point I don't know. Personally I don't overly care about the spoilers, but I'd prefer not to know.

No, but I wouldn't be upset about it.

"Being upset for not being entertained" ,which is sort of the case with spoilers and people up in arms about it, is a fundamentally deranged thought process.

Have you seen the football forum at all this season? People have been complaining for almost a year now how boring the football has been.

How are grown-ups supposed to behave and feel anyway?

I know, it's pathetic.

You'll know in a few years.
I better take advantage of having you on the line here and do some growing up then. What age is that age exactly that I'll grow up? Does it work similarly to an arthropod going through metamorphosis? Is it like a clock in that Justin Timberlake movie In Time? I'm sorry to be such a bother with all these questions, you see I'm not a grown-up so I easily get excited about things.

I was just messing with you dude, chill out.

Do feck off!

Filler bs. She had Drogon by her side when they found her in the book. The show will fill an episode with the captivity and then the CGI beast swoop in.

I can't recall the exact circumstances of her discovery from the book, however it wouldn't be unusual for the show to deviate from the books. I skipped through a lot of the Dany stuff and moved on to the more interesting spoiler speculation.

It was the last chapter of ADWD before the epilogue. She was found by a Dothraki rider who fled on sight when he saw the dragon. The show fecked up Meereen so much that now they have to resort to a dramatic rescue to get the Danny storyline some tractions.

This is why I just can't get invested in the show and won't bother one bit about potential spoilers. It's utter Hollywood nonsense for half the season, some adequate adaptation (2-3 eps) before the eventual shock/big reveal in penultimate/ultimate episode.

Spoilery stuff from Lovejoy.

bringing back Sandor Clegane?

Definitely sounds like the Hound. I considered Catelyn but hers isn't exactly a peaceful band. It does seem extremely spoilery stuff though, I wonder if he was actually allowed to say that much.

Its Syrio!!!!

Seriously though, this season may spoil a lot of stories for book fans too. I just hope its to a higher level then last seasons and doesn't divulge into crap.

Fixed. Some stories may differ from those in the books but I'd say there's a fairly big chance that certain stories will play out near enough identically. Particularly if they contain certain set-pieces (e.g. Cleganebowl theory is right).

That's why GRR Martin waving it away is daft. I mean, sure, some stories are different but the ones that his readers actually care about are the ones that will be spoiled by the show. Nobody gives a shit about Sansa.

I got banned from the other thread a year ago for mentioning Catelyn being resurrected. What's cleganebowl?

The theory that The Hound is the mute acolyte in the Riverlands sept and he'll fight zombie Mountain in Cersei's trial by combat.
