A serious look at Mauricio Pochettino

I really dont think he will leave Spurs
I don't see why he would leave unless Spurs don't win anything and/or he has a falling out with Levy. He is leading the club into a new stadium, they've solidified their place in the top four, he has the freedom to do what he likes.

In years from now he may regret not taking up the chance to manage United, and maybe will comment he stayed at Spurs too long, but that's ifs and buts.

Neither do I, he has a fantastic thing going at Spurs and has great job security. Doubt they will complain even if they drop out of top four any time, and with us there is just too much uncertainty.

You think he will want to stay at Spurs if they drop out of top4 or continue this year's trend of not investing?

Who cares what Spurs think in this scenario.

 I will be brutally honest though if Poch had less character he would definitely leave you for us.

I have no doubt, there is a reason we believe he will stay, for some reason we choice to believe the guy... even after seeing many of out best players leave. Of course we could be very wrong but I hope not, he’s not like many managers I have seen anywhere in the game.

Every pundit I've heard or read today has said the United job is his for the taking and that he almost has no choice.

He left Southampton for Tottenham for a reason. Don’t kid yourself in thinking he isn’t the same as any other manager.

Can I ask why you pick out one window where we don’t invest, as opposed to every other one where we did? We don’t look anywhere close to dropping out of the top four, best ever start to a PL SEASON.

I was keen to see how they'd do on the back of our result against Cardiff. Just go to a much tougher place and bang in 6 goals.

Our game against Spurs will be quite the occasion, first serious test of Ole's tactical abilities.

The reasons he left Southampton are very well documented on here, I really don’t wanna get into it again. What exactly do you want Spurs fans to say, he’s gone? From what I see most Spurs fans are only echoing or saying what Poch has said himself, I’m not saying 100% he is staying I’m just giving my opinion.

He has a massive choice to make. If I were him, I wouldn't be 100% sure I should leave. This side work their socks off for him.

Poch has said very little, that in itself leaves the door wide open for such debates. He wouldn’t be human though if he didn’t give a dumper new contract, a vast amount of spending money at a club with a tonne load of more history consideration. Just my opinion.

Is that positive or negative?

Pochettino won't stay at Spurs for too long. He left Southampton for the same exact reason. Although, Spurs have a strong team, they don't have any money for big signings. I mean they broke the record in the summer by not signing anyone.

I think that we can get him if we want, but I don't think he would be a good choice, especially because he has never won any kind of trophy as a manager.

I don’t understand why spurs fans would bother having this debate. Seems exhausting for you and totally irrelevant

He might still want to stay even if they drop out of top 4, but he seems to want more investment though. No one knows, I just think it is not an easy decision for him as many are alluding to.

Just pointing out hypothetical scenario.

He will not stay if top clubs come calling, no way. I don't know about us though, who knows if he is excited about club going turbulent period at the moment, but if stable top club comes calling I am sure he would easily leave Spurs.

Real Madrid came calling and he's still at Tottenham.

I have never said he wouldnt consider it.

Spurs are in FAR better shape. This isnt your dads "lads its Tottenham" anymore.

I would like Poch here but its far from a sure thing

Not suggesting it is but fact remains, Poch left Southampton for a bigger club with more chance of winning major honours. It isn’t beyond belief that he might considering moving on again to a club that is a juggernaut in world football who with a couple of additions could be on track to win major honours again.

Probably because with the new stadium that'll be closer to the level of spending than the years previous.

Your missing the point, if Poch leaves us it wouldn’t be anything like when he left Southampton.

Spurs now have mentality of top team.

Previous years they'd have gone out of CL at group stage (16/17) but this time found a way to keep going and finish 2nd.

They'd have also gone out of the cup to Arsenal given it's the later stages.

Also worth noting when they have lost a big game this season in the league they've responded with 3-4 straight wins which is what big teams do.

Pochettino is a great manager imo. Too bad for him Man. City and Liverpool are both going to get 90 + points so very tough field to try to win a league title.

I am not convinced about Poch's brand of football. Everton plays a high line is asking for trouble.
