One of the fastest defenders to have played the game. Remember watching a Sampdoria match against Inter Milan where he matched Ronaldo toe to toe and that was the time when Ronaldo was the best player in the world.

I was prepare to let go Bergomi to you, and it's a shame it didn't work out well. And did you get that 'Brehme' idea, when looking up Kohler? The were Germans influx to Serie A at the time after they won the 1990 WC.

Speaking of international games, does it also count on picking up players? Some were just ok-ish in the league, but done better for their national teams.

Nah Kohler was really good but I am happy with Alessandro.

Also, there is a real dearth of left backs. More than right backs. Maldini was the obvious one and Zanetti can play there. But I am pretty sure finding 16 quality left backs would be a hard thing and I don't wanna be at the end of that.

About full back, it seems like a lot of players in 90's can play either CB, fullback, and even on the wing. And some can even play on both sides. So, there should be plenty left (with variety of classes/levels, though). It's the sign of good footballer to be able to play in different roles (unless your name is John O'Shea ).
